-He knew why they had the rule. Don't go out alone. You were about 200 times more likely to get your face ripped off by a zombie if you did. But after Andeon and Mack had left together AGAIN, Lucas was beginning to grow irritated with the situation.
The two kept running off like Fred and Daphne, leaving everyone else to rot in their base. And he was tired of it. Tired of the stupid game of ******** favorites when there were only a handful of people left anyway. Tired of being left out of the action and having to leave their very survival up to the great 'leaders'. Not today.
As soon as the two had left for yet another glorious mission, Lucas too had left. He had said some of the other could follow if they wanted. He rather doubted they would however. He was looking for food, and if he found more weapons along the way, all the better.
His current weapon was a shovel, which happened to be one of the better choices of the junk they had around here. But still he held out hope... even without guns or arrows.. perhaps he'd come across some rope or paint cans. Maybe if he could find nails and stuff one of the smarties back at the base would have enough know how to put together a bomb of sorts. That'd be wicked cool.
Eyes scanning the hallway as he made his way towards the second floor kitchen he listened for the sound of OTHER footsteps in the mostly silent building. What he wouldn't give for a bit of music.. a bit of warning.-

After begging and pleading, Hero had finally let the teal-haired sophomore go out.
Serenade wasn't allowed outside. This made a lot of sense to Elke, because she had played Mario once and she knew what happened when you put princesses in danger. Also there were all kinds of scary things around, and it wouldn't do to put her friend in danger for something as silly as finding Elke's friends. Only Elke had to be responsible for finding her own friends.
So she had grabbed a really big book, remembering with a sick feeling the times Giselle would tap her on the head with a history book to ensure she was awake and paying attention. Then she had taken a flashlight, in case it got dark (even senshi couldn't see in the nighttime) and headed outside.
She had made a list, scrawled with sharpie on her hand. Every so often, she would stop to look at it:
__ Avery X Giselle __ Sebastien X Serenade __ Yvette __ Andeon (VODKA ):) __ Kitty
So far she had only located two out of the seven, which was really bad. She was staring at the list with a preoccupied expression when she turned the corner and looked up, straight at Lucas. In surprise, she dropped the book and her flashlight. Falling back a few steps to buy herself time in case she needed to become Virgo again, she said, "A-are you dead or alive?"

-He'd spotted her a little ahead, catching the soft sound of shoes he'd been hunting. Quietly he'd waited, watching the book and.. something else as he tried to make out the figure.. and whether she was green. Imagine his surprise when the figure was not only alive and familar, but about to hit a strange sensation of deja vu.
He didn't stop it, subconciously clinging to the moment like he was back in the good old days. He waited for her to crash into him and fall back.. to tease her about her underwear. But it didn't happen. Because things weren't like they used to be.
Her voice and the sudden scuttle backwards knocked him back into reality, tearing from his face the smile that had somehow worked it's way there. His voice was harsh as it sounded.- "I'm perfectly fine, but YOU aren't going to be if you're wandering around not even paying attention."
"How in the world have you stayed alive all this time?" -He leaned forward, trying to look her over, a strangely unfamilar look on his face. Protective. So unlike the predatory look he'd always teased her with before.-

Lucas, I--
How did she explain that she hadn't stayed alive all this time? She'd been dead. And escaping alive from her encounter with Captain Nealite and those zombies had been mere luck. Elke decided it would probably be best to not mention anything at all about what she had been doing for the past two days, except...
"I- um... I haven't seen anyone else," she tried, staring cautiously at him, but it had always been so clearly obvious when she was lying that it could barely be called funny. "Well, except Giselle and Serenade. Have you seen Avery?" Or Sebastien, or Yvette, or Andeon, or the kitty, or anyone she'd known, really. Elke bent down to get her book and flashlight, straightened up quickly.
At least Lucas wasn't a zombie.

-Hadn't seen anyone? If that wasn't luck he didn't know what was. Obviously she must have had some run in with the monsters however.. considering the dead or alive question.
Watching her until she'd retrieved her things, he flashed a glance around them cautiously, before turning to her once more, motioning with the hand that wasn't carrying a giant shovel.- "No, haven't seen him."
"But there is a group of survivors hanging out in the math room. Andeon, Mackenzie, Kirin, Jess, Nihls..." -He paused a moment, counting on his fingers.- "Seven of us total."
"I'm on a food run for everyone."
"Come back with me, we'll all take care of you." -It was strangely nice of the usually selfish boy.-

He seemed fully... Un-Lucas. No innuendos, no pickup lines, just... business. She would follow him for now. "Oh," she said softly, eyes downcast. No way to mark off the box next to his name on her hand, nothing new to know. With a shake of her head, she paused, her hair hanging in her eyes.
"I can't," she said, uncertain as to how to explain. "Um... I already have a place? Sort of?" Was she allowed to tell? Probably not, so she just followed Lucas for a little bit. "I can help you look, though. Before it gets dark? I have to go back when it's dark."

-Someplace else? Sort of? Was there another group someplace? Or had she just found some supremely awesome zombie inpenetrable place that she just didn't want to share? His frown drew longer across his face. She didn't trust him... not that anyone could blame her.
He certainly wouldn't turn down a little help though. Letting the frown soften, he nodded lightly.- "Alright. We'll find some food and then go our seperate ways."
-Maybe he'd follow her actually... maybe it was her secret place he was supposed to be getting to to set things into motion? But that was later and this was now. Food and weapons really were like gold in times like these. How long would it be before they were completely out of food?-
"Stay close until we find you a weapon" -He reached out, attempting to pull her near to him, if he had his way, so close their hips almost touched. Even in gamemode it seemed, Lucas didn't quite grasp the concept of personal space.-

Elke watched the play of emotions on his face nervously. If he asked, she would have to lie, and everyone knew how terrible it was when she lied. She turned bright red and mumbled and it was horribly easy to see right through her. But he didn't, so she smiled and hefted her book. "This is what I've got. It's really all I need, I have been pretty safe so far."
She let herself be pulled close to Lucas--she felt oddly queasy, like she'd eaten something off. Of course--it was being unfaithful to Avery. Even though it was just walking close to Lucas, she'd refused this kind of attention so many times. Only because I don't want to henshin in front of him, she assured herself. It wasn't like she liked Lucas that way, anyway.
That would just be asking for heartbreak.
"Who's with you," she asked, thinking she could bring this information back to Hero and Aurelia and Serenade.

"They have to get awfully close to attack with that.." -He warned, once again wondering how the petite little dear had survived the days before, all things considered.
Without resistance from her, it was easy enough for him to lead the way, drawing nearer to familar kitchen. They'd already hit the cafeteria pretty hard, and the nearest vending machines. But Fallon must have had quite a stash to do what she did everyday. So he was betting money that he'd find SOMETHING if they looked in her personal kitchen.- "Me... Andeon, Mackenzie, Jess, Kirin, umm.. Nihls and his cat, Evelyn, and that little dickwad. I think his name is Billy?"
-He paused a second, hand grasping her chest and attempting to pull her back against him as a loud noise caught his attention, eyes focusing on some bedrooms down the hall. Possibly survivors.. more likely zombies.
Grip tightening on his weapon he pushed forward again, walking as quietly as he could manage as he turned into the charred and ransacked kitchen.
He walked carefully around pots and pans strewn around the floor, trying not to hit any of them as he began to open cupboads, praying they wouldn't squeak.-

Well, if she saw them coming, she could just transform into Virgo, couldn't she? Elke frowned. This whole 'not revealing I am a senshi' thing was much, much harder than it looked. "I've been okay so far," she said confidently, pulling out the sharpie to write the list of people on her arm.
Nihls and his cat. Gotcha. She collected up and armful of food that was laying on the counter, and dropped her book twice.
