kids is a great song, but I think Time to Pretend would have had a better shot at winning, imho.
but if they're up against bon jovi and fall & oates, I feel like they still have a good shot at winning.

I think maybe Kids was chosen because it came out as a single on October 2008, while TTP was some time before (and the awards are for releases from October 2008 to August 2009)
But, yes, maybe they would have had a better chance with TTP that's an older single and was the track they became known for.
I really hope they win! I think winning best new artist is a very possible scenario, but I gotta feeling that I Gotta Feeling is going to win Best Pop Performance neutral

I agree. I know five people that know MGMT. In everyone that I associate with to the smallest extent. Only three like them. The other two think it's total crappy hippie music and called me a pot-smoking hippie for liking them. scream

No one calls me a pot smoking hippie for liking them, but almost no one I know knows of them where I live too. I've only met two people who have heard of the band, but they have never heard a song.
It's sad...
But if they win a grammy it'll change <3

NOBODY I'm friends with have ever heard of them. I know they're psychedelic music in genre, but that doesn't mean anything... If you listen to an emo band, for instance, it doesn't mean you're emo.
