Sweep...sweep...sweep.... Oukou pauses as she brushes her hair from her face. A soft sigh coming from her as she looks towards the two demon animals in her yard. They had to play in the mud, then bring it back into her home. Leaving muddy foot prints where ever they went. So when she woke up from her nap, there on her latest kimono, a beautiful purple silk with cherry blossom imprint with paw prints. Not just any paw prints, but a dragon cat and a cat. It took every control she had, not to throw the cats out. Shaking her head, she steps off her steps as she moves towards the little laundry area she set up. Hanging on the rope was the kimono, drying in the late fall wind. Her eyes gazing over it as she chews on her bottom lip. This was its third washing, and finally it look to be clean. Turning towards the felines, she glares at them both. Your lucky this came clean....

Jilan wanders down the street past the Porcelain houses before work, kicking a pebble ahead of him as he walks. The bus from home had gotten caught in some traffic - more men with noisy machines mucking up the streets digging holes and such - and so he was not left with enough time to really converse at length with the High Priest as he had been hoping, but the little scholar figures now he has enough time to at least make the walk. Most of the other tiny houses are occupied, and he realizes not for the first time that he is not yet familiar with everyone on the block.
And so the young Porcelain is pleased to see one of the neighbors of the High Priest is out and about in her yard. Though the Silver World forced him to outgrow his natural shyness out of necessity, if nothing else, Jilan still hesitates a moment before projecting a greeting. Only after does he do so, however, does he notice the woman's unhappy thoughts directed at the fleeing felines ... and the little scholar winces slightly even as he raises a hand to wave, hoping that the woman will not be cross with him by proxy.
"Aah, hello?" Nice that the weather today is nice enough for line-drying, even so late in the fall, no? sweatdrop

Oukou rounded, pretty much ready to snap at the newcomer, only to stop dead in her track. The person talking to her was a mere child, who didn't deserve the anger. No matter how much she wanted to snap any everyone today. Grinding her teeth for a moment, she nods slowly as she turns away from him "One moment, I just need to pull this kimono down. I'll be right with you." tugging the silk off the robe, she carefully holds it in her arms. Holding it close to her chest, she turns towards the young man as she nods to him. How can I help you?

At the woman's very business-like words, Jilan politely indicates a hint of misunderstanding. He is just here to say hello, get to know the other Porcelain who are here in Gaia. Though, if she is busy, perhaps the little scholar could return later, like after work this evening or tomorrow...?
... However after a moment, he projects curiosity as well: while he is here, may he ask what business the lady runs here?

Pausing mid-step, Oukou looks at the young man rather funny. Were all the porcelains around here like him and Histuga? Almost scared to talk? With a frown, she shakes her head as she attempts to smile. That alone didn't work, and she ended up looking like she was a clown with a painted on smile. I'm a tailor, this is one of the current kimono I'm working on. Unfolding the kimono in her arms, she holds it out towards the young man to look at. She was rather happy with how it turn out so far, but she had much much more work on it.

The young Porcelain steps closer to examine the garment, reaching out to touch the fabric gingerly. He is certainly impressed - though Jilan is hardly the expert on making such things, but he thinks it looks very nice so far. How long has it taken her to get this far in making the robe, he wonders? And is this fabric that she is using from here in Gaia...?

Carefully folding the kimono back up, she once again holds it close to her chest as she smirks. With a shrug, she glances down at the kimono for a moment. How long did it take her to work on it? It seem like months to her, as she started it back around the time the leaves started to fall. About a few weeks, and I'm not done yet. And yes, its silk from Gaia. Making a face at the word gaia, she sighs inwards. It was the only thing she could really find that was close to what she use back home. It was the only thing that made her feel close to home, being able to work like she use to.

Ah, is the material here in Gaia more difficult to work with somehow, he wondered to her? Or just a bit unfamiliar? The boy is not sure how long it has been since this lady's arrival, but he did not think it proper to ask, certainly not at first meeting, and so keeps that particular inquiry to himself.
And then another thought struck him, speaking of silks from Gaia and elsewhere - if Jilan ever needed a garment made, if he purchased the materials himself, might she be able to make it for him? He was sort of on a growth spurt and perhaps if he outgrew what he had before he could return to the Silver World, he could come to her for newer things? Or, if nothing else, he knows someone - a friend of a friend - who sells bolts of material here in Gaia, so perhaps he could introduce them?
... Another small idea begins to take root in the little scholar's mind, as well, but for the moment, he gives no sign of it.

Oukou was rather surprised by all the question this young one had. She remain quiet for a moment as she thought. Her face was blank as she stares down at the kimono in her arms. Finally, she nods to Jilan as she turns away from him. The fabric is rather unfamiliar to me, so I am being careful. And yes, I could do everything you asked of me. And this friend, do they sell the material at a rather decent price? The last thing she needed, was someone who would sell her cheap fabric. She refuses to work with cheap fabric. Everything she made, was the best and she planned to stay that way. Even in this world.

Everything he asked.... The young Porcelain nods, projecting his thanks, along with an indication that he does not have anything in particular in mind at the moment. When he does think of something, though he would be happy to let her know.
As for his ... friend of a friend who sells cloth, Jilan does not know his prices right now, but he will do what he can to get in touch with that human, and direct him to Lady--
Actually, may he ask her name? So he knows it, and so he has it to give to the cloth merchant, as well? The little scholar is "Jilan", he tells her humbly.
