Things were progressing better than he had thought to hope, previously... If all things went according to plan, he'd have his sweet niece under his paw in no time... And his brother shortly after that, no matter what Kel did to escape the taint.. It was still there, still a part of him... And Aveshar would find a way to rule him, or destroy him. Not that he wanted it to come to that... After all, Kel had the potential to be very useful indeed... And one didn't cast aside a pawn just because it was scratched... Well, perhaps he'd upgrade Kel from a status of pawn... Depending on his condition and usefulness... But that was all for later... I wonder how best to coax him in... Aveshar mused idly, pacing lazily along the border of his lands. Should he tell the younger male that he had Asia? Too soon, Requiem would realize otherwise... And then where would they be? On the other paw, if the lad was at the border... He'd made it far enough it should be no great chore to take two or three more steps.. The Twisted Kingdom had an allure all its own.. And once within the lands, it would be no great chore to keep the young male here... All Aveshar had to do was speak to the land, it did his bidding... Here, he was lord...
'For how long?'
Aveshar growled lowly at the thought, then shook his head. No... He'd deal with that at another time... That was not important now... A little too early. Now was time for some fun...

Innocence. So easily allured. So easily goaded. So easily interested. And despite the blatant smell of danger, the edge of doom, there was a confidence in himself that just shoved all possible fear away, and thus, all caution. Well, almost all. Temerary, not stupid. That little prickle in the back of his head, telling him to go back, bad idea, turn away, was only spiking his interest, however. And so, sooner then later, the white and golden transparent form of the ghost fae became visible, clashing against the desolate lands. That foolish, little Requiem...

'Well, will you look at that? And there he is...' Aveshar smiled faintly as he watched the younger male draw closer. So he was doing this because he wasn't afraid? Because he was intrigued? Well, the Dark Fayth suppossed those were valid reasons. It wasn't as though the lad was walking into the mouth of death or some such nonsense... He was a ghost after all... "Hello Requiem." He greeted smoothly. "Welcome to the Twisted Kingdom." He took a step sideways, further into the prideland in mute invitation, or perhaps dare. Aveshar didn't bother to analyze himself on the matter, simply considered the white-coated male.

Requiem didn't look straight at Aveshar right away, considering the lands stretching before him. Light seemed to shy away, shadows seemed alive, a form of conscience oozed from the earth... and it wasn't a nice one either. Taunting him to try and sink its teeth on him... A daring smirk played on his lips.
Let them come.
"The Twisted Kingdom... quite the interesting piece of land you got here... fits you." It'd be quite the adventure, just venturing through the lands themselves, he could feel it... and it excited him to no end, filled to the brim with energy. He wondered, should he go back? Bring her along? She'd enjoy it as much as him, he was certain. Or... take a small bite and feel the taste? Just a little... he was already here after all... A small step forward was taken, his body making the decision for him. Or did it?

It was no slight when the younger male continued to drink in the sight of the land. In fact, Aveshar preferred it. It gave him time to consider his prey, to consider how the land reacted to it. New blood, fresh and untainted... An unexpected wind picked up, stirring the white-waves of grass, plucking at the strands of their manes. The daring expression on Requiem's maw made the Dark Fayth lift a brow. Well, didn't his little niece have the most interesting friends? Not only did he recognize the power, but he dared it. How interesting indeed. Idly Aveshar wondered how such a promising cub could have escaped his notice, but for the moment, he shook it aside. "It does." He agreed with a rumble of amusement. "Quite an interesting land, with interesting souls that dwell at its heart." He took another subtle step back and to the side, further into the lands, a silent invitation. Aveshar only made the move in reaction to Requiem's step, an almost unconscious gesture, it seemed. He wanted to explore this place. "Feel free to take a look around." He murmured. "There is much to be seen within this place.. More-so even then that which you must pass through to get here..." Unclaimed lands that stretched to the foot of a towering rock cliff, a thin, twisting passage through the dark... The strip of dead forest right to the border of white grass, and more ghost trees... And the spirits that lived amongst it all? Well, they were another story entirely...

Souls... the word added to the itch on the back of Requiem's head. Who else lived here? Who'd be ruled by someone like... Aveshar? The next step he took drew his attention to the ground, as the feebled, dry grass cracked under his translucent paw. What tainted this land so much? The eerie presence... he had to know.
"Really now..." he mumbled more to himself than anything else. A few more steps, his attention on the wind that swept through, stopping to feel it, its invitation. "And you are going to let me in your lands... just like that... Well, it'd be rude to turn back now even more, wouldn't it?"

Who indeed? Aveshar could almost see him consider the phrase, wonder about it. Such a thing was rather hard to explain, the Dark Fayth supposed. There were the ghosts of the forest itself.. Twisted souls that could not move on, but did not really want to stay. They envied the living, existed purely to lash out at those they could get their twisted claws on. The pride was safe, by Aveshar's will, as all things were -or not, depending.. But now and again he sent those twisted souls into the outer forest, to grab and grip what they could catch. And oh the sounds of those screams... He smiled at the mere memory, silently urging the Spirits of the Wood to hunt along the outer border of his territory. The Pride lay at it's heart, but all that was tainted was his. From his first steps upon the land that seemed less then healthy, Requiem's progress had been known. Even now, it was starting. "Curiosity is a commendable trait." Aveshar rumbled with a faint shrug. "I myself possess it. The need to know and see things, understand things. You, friend of my niece, have this trait in spades. Of course you may enter... I doubt I have should feel any fear or uncertainty towards you. There is little you can do to sway those loyal to me, so I fear no takeover of my Pride." Wouldn't Diera be intrigued by this new visitor when she returned? And Kelakohr, when his steps brought him this way again.. Which of course, they always did. The Taint was increasing, and now his mad sibling would walk to the very border of the Pride itself, the border Requiem had half-crossed, before he turned away again.. But always closer... "It would be a shame to waste the trip." He replied with a nod. "The land is an interesting one, is it not?"

"I have no such ambition either..." He felt the stirr, in the shadows, in the air, under his feet. It was... urging him... inviting him. So tempting... Yes, he had to know. Requiem stepped further yet again, casting a glance behind him. The safety... Well, what could happen to him, really? He couldn't die... his mother would worry though... others would worry, yes... but he'd go back safe and sound. Like always. Just another adventure, through the most perilous lands he'd ever seen. His eyes widened at the realization. Such a wonderful feeling, the rush coursing through his blood. He wouldn't look away anymore, joinning Aveshar's side. "It surely is..."

"And it is because of this fact that you are welcome here." Aveshar inclined his head faintly in mute acknowledgment of Requiem's statement. "Well, that is not the only reason." Ambition was a very large part of it. If the lad aspired to take over the Pride, well, Fate was a wicked female, more-so then her lesser sisters. And if the opportunity to unseat him was presented in a tempting enough package, there was no telling what she would do for her own amusement. Best then that the lad had no aspirations. Aveshar had multiple incentives and motives for everything he did. It was his nature. "So then, friend of my niece." He murmured as Requiem joined him. "Tell me of yourself." He turned his paws to pace along the border, a leisurely stroll to show the younger male around. "Granted..." He made a low sound of amusement. "I know you have been the playmate of my niece for most of your life.. But tell me, what plans do you have now that you are an adult?" He could feel the ebb and flow of the power, the rush as the land sent spirals of -magic, for lack of a better term- to investigate the new soul. A Ghost? It had seen his like before... The approval there was instant. The spirits in the wood, the tainted land itself, The Twisted Kingdom agreed. Requiem could be one of them, if he wished it. Or if he simply stayed long enough for the land to do its work on him.
