I've wondered about it for a while. Is just a word for kenshin or does is it actually a word.

It's pretty much just a word; for him, it means a 'what' of confusion. It really is a word, buuuut... Looking up the meaning, I don't think the actual meaning is what Watsuki wanted to use.

Why?, I knew about the confusion meaning, but I had heard that it had a real meaning. So why would he not use the real meaning?

I can see how it would be used, but I don't think that watsuki would use that in a manga, oh well.
It makes me feel grateful that I never remembered to ask my japanese teacher what it meant.
