Who: Kyou, Yuurei and Luica Where: Lab 305 When: noon Weather: cool and clear
Lucia growled at Yuurei, who was actually doing…close to what the doctor advised. Wearing a long black jacket, a tight red turtleneck, a short black skirt and black thigh high boots would kind of keep her warm in Dr. Tsu’s air-conditioned office. Maybe. ”You’re such a b***h,” Lucia snarled as Yuurei flicked on the air conditioning in the car. She was done with this stupid woman. As soon as Yuurei received the phone call about the cold chilling out the virus, the blonde had turned off the heat and opened all of the windows. Lucia stopped running away from home and jumping out of her skin at every bump (the shadows that almost killed her before were back) and chose to hide in the library on the third floor with her down blanket. Now, the b***h was taking her to the lab where she was going to be frozen to death.
The frei shook her hair out and looked away from her guardian, staring out the window in angst as the drove into Gambino. She wished they would go to the graveyard instead. She hadn’t eaten since the phone call yesterday. It was very difficult to curb her compulsive eating since she almost starved to death.
Yuurei bit her tongue and resisted the urge to slap the frei. It wouldn’t reflect very well on her as a guardian if Lucia showed up to be cured with a red hand mark across her face. The ‘tude had to go – and hopefully it would, along with the virus. Parking in front of the lab the blonde said overly cheerily, ”We’re heeeerreee!!” She ignored the resulting glare from Lucia as she opened the door, stepped out, and walked towards the entryway. Her heels clicked against the ground with each step. Pushing open the double doors she reminded the cat, ”Don’t forget, Kyou said we’re meeting him in Tsu’s office. And for once we’re on time so he should be there.”
Lucia glared at Yuurei and roared, ”God damm it! -- I know! I heard you the past fifty times you freaking told me! ******** off if you’re so happy I’m going to be put in a coma!” Turning and stalking off, Lucia made her way towards Dr. Tsu’s office completely ignoring the annoying click click of Yuurei walking a few paces behind her. The kitten loved naps, but she wasn’t looking forward to freezing and not being sure she would wake up. Not to mention that Yuurei was retarded – not in the special way Aphi was – but just dumb. As a stump. It pissed her off. Just naturally.
Maybe – just maybe she could get Dr. Kyou to think of another way to get her not sick. Not that she minded most of it, but the pain in her joints and the spotlight beneath the skirt she made just had to go. Rubbing her lips together and flipping her hair, Lucia tentatively pushed open Dr. Tsu’s office door and popped her head in, blinking at the chilliness that was immediately noticeable.

Kyou had just been sitting in the office for roughly five minutes, sipping on a cup of warm coffee he made himself earlier, when the door creaked open and a face pops through. "Hello Lucia!" he exclaimed as he got up, glancing briefly at the clock. They are on time! "Please come in, and I apologize for the coldness." With long strides he walked around towards the door, pulling it open wider for the Frei to enter. If she is here, Yuurei should be close behind too.
His gold eyes were immediately trailed to the bottom of Lucia's torso as she entered. Yuurei was right, her rune is growing like a bright spolight. Even with the already sufficient lighting in the office, the rune's bright light seem to cast shadows in the room. Although aside from the brightly glowing rune, Lucia seems to be normal, Kyou still decided that he should keep some distance and had his guard up when dealing with infected Raevans. Especially after the last phone call he received from Yuurei.
"Where is Yuurei?" Kyou asked, his voice laced with a bit of worry as he peer out the door.

The cat floated through the door as she spied her creator. ”Oh hello Dr. Kyou!” The frei smiled sweetly, but her smile faded when she noted that he was examining her in a routine way. As his eyes dwelled on the bright unnatural glow emanating from her rune she blushed slightly. Stop that she chided herself internally. She had a goal for the moment: get Kyou to agree to figure out something other than a freakin’ coma to get rid of this. She had time to strategize as he peered out of the doorway. Somehow he couldn’t hear the click click click of Yuurei’s stupid heels?
Yuurei smiled apologetically as she saw Kyou looking down the hall. ”Sorry, she kind of just took off and I figured I’d give her some space. How are you?” She half ran to and reached the door, and entered -- purposefully ignoring Lucia’s scathing glare. ”So when can we put her under?” The eagerness showed in her voice. Getting rid of the frei’s attitude would be a blessing.
Lucia rolled her eyes at Yuurei’s blathering. ”Oh shut up,” she said with no small amount of ire. But the blonde didn’t matter. Kyou was her real target today. Flipping her hair she floated unthreateningly to Dr. Kyou and began, with a sweet smile, to gently touch his lab coat’s collar. ”Dr. Kyou. I reeeeaaaaaly don’t want to be put in a coma.” Her purple eyes looked at his, as they half-lidded seductively. She took a silent breath and went into the little speech she had thought up. ”I almost died recently and I really don’t want to feel like I’m dying again. Is there annnny other way that we can do this? I mean – I could be very helpful until we figured out some other way to remove the virus.” The fingers of her braced hand trailed, just along the underside of her bra top.

Raising an eyebrow, The dark haired scientist was intrigued at Yuurei's eagerness to in her own words, put Lucia under; as well as Lucia trying to dissuade him from giving her the cure. This can be a little difficult. Kyou was unmoving from Lucia's gestures to seduce, its not that Lucia wasn't attractive, but perhaps the scientist felt like he is too old for this, and he looked at Lucia as still a child more than anything else.
He need to handle this one differently.
Placing a hand on Lucia's shoulder, he gently pushed her away a little. "Sure, I actually have thought of another way to treat the virus." He smiled warmly, a mischievous twinkle lingered in his eyes. "Please take a seat and I will show you how." Giving a gentle pat on her back, he urged her to take a seat in front of the desk. Now with her back to them, Kyou glanced up at Yuurei catching her attention. He smiled and gave her a mischievous wink, telling her that everything would be fine and under control.
When they are properly seated he walked around the desk and sat down. Opening a drawer, he took a quick glance around and found something suitable. Swiftly he reached in and took out a syringe with blue liquid inside. He was quite sure neither Yuurei nor Lucia had ever seen hydrogen sulfide before. "This is the hydrogen sulfide injection that I mentioned in the phone that will induce a hypothermia." he explained, a warm smile still adorn on his face. "But I had found something less dangerous." From the top most drawer, he took out a packet with the actual hydrogen sulfide shot inside and showed it to the ladies. "This one instead is peptide hormone. If pumped into the blood stream, it will strengthen your immune system and encourage your body's natural hormones to fight off the virus on it's own. There won't be any side effects aside from feeling light-headed for a couple hours. I just found this new cure yesterday, I haven't had a chance to tell Yuurei yet." he said, nodding reassuringly at Lucia.
"So do you want the blue one or the yellow one?"

Lucia smirked happily. Even her maker, Dr. Kyou wasn’t immune to her charms. All you had to do was rub up against them, smile, maybe purr or coo a little, and they did whatever you wanted. She floated and sat down where indicated. Too easy.
Yuurei sighed – Lucia was getting her way again. But either way, if it would get rid of the virus it really didn’t matter. She followed Kyou, and her brow wrinkled in confusion at the wink. What was going on? Did he really not have another cure. The blonde decided it didn’t matter; Kyou knew what he was doing.
Dr. Kyou had the kitten’s attention entirely. Her wide eyes focused on his lips, making sure she got every word. She smiled. It was so simple. Blue or Yellow. Well. Yellow obviously. She didn’t want the coma. She didn’t understand everything about the yellow syringe, but it was obviously the solution she wanted. And being light headed might be fun. ”I want the yellow one – the hormone.”

Perfect! Lucia fell for his trick. He was worried that his acting wouldn't be good enough to fool her, but it seemed like he is better at it than he thinks. Kyou can't deny that he felt bad tricking Lucia, but this is probably the fastest way to get her cured.
"Alright." Kyou nodded in acknowledgement. Taking the syringe with the unknown blue liquid, he quickly place it back into the drawer. "Can you hold out your right arm like this on the table?" he instructed as he opened the plastic packet and took out the hydrogen sulfide syringe. Grabbing a cotton ball, he dabbed it into some alcohol and then wipe it in the crook of Lucia's elbow. Finally, he took the cap off the syringe's needle and positioned it on Lucia's skin. "This will hurt a little bit." he said as he held onto Lucia's hand in his own free hand, intending to hold her still more than anything else.
"I'm sorry." guilt flashed in his eyes as he penetrated the smooth skin into the veins underneath, pumping the liquid into her system.

Lucia took a deep breath and laid her free arm down on the desk. The alcohol was cold against her skin, but not as cold as the hydrogen sulfide would have been if she hadn’t managed to convince Kyou to do otherwise. A chill ran up her spine and she flexed her shoulders. As he prepped her for the stick, the cat took a breath and bit her lip as the needle pinched her skin.
For a moment, Lucia was aware of the warmth of Dr. Kyou’s hand on her own and a smile played on her lips as she examined him. As he pressed the plunger down, Lucia let out a shrill shriek and her eyes snapped to the injection point. Her arm was falling off. It was dying. Flowing down to her wrist and up through her elbow she could feel the cold. As soon as it got to her heart she’d be dead. Her arm was frozen and unmovable. The warmth of Kyou’s hand was gone. She could no longer feel it.
Her eyes traveled up to Dr. Kyou’s face. He tricked her…He – how could he? The kitten’s eyes were full of pain. The cold was killing her and he -- she had thought… Her eyelids were heavy. She knew she was dying again. She could feel her heart beat slower and slower in her chest. “Why did you –- ?” she asked, her voice a soft whisper of its former self. With a sharp intake of breath as her eyes closed again and she didn’t reopen them.
Yuurei’s eyes opened wide as the frei screamed. Looking from Kyou to Lucia and back again, she watched horrified as the cat seemed to stiffen. Her face looked pained. ”What happened?! I thought she was going to be light headed! Not crying in pain!” Yuurei reached out to touch the frei’s cheek and gasped. Her face was so cold! ”Was that the hydrogen sulfide? Is she okay?”

For a moment, Kyou almost couldn't look straight at the Frei as the liquid flows through her system. The feeling of your body freezing through the blood veins wasn't a good feeling, the scientist had experienced something similar many many years ago. But his golden eyes never wavered as he looked into Lucia's, his smile all but disappeared as he stared regrettably at the Frei that was slowly passing out.
"Yes." His voice more solemn, deeper now. "I'm sorry that I had to lie to you. There weren't any other cure, the hydrogen sulfide was the only one there is all along. I... didn't have a choice." The scientist said, on his feet now and carrying the unconscious Frei up in his arms.
Walking over to the examination table, Kyou slowly laid Lucia onto the soft surface. She looked so peaceful now, like a sleeping beauty waiting for a prince to wake her up. Unfortunately, Kyou is probably not the prince that Lucia expected, the princess will need to wake up on her own. Bending down, the scientist placed a light kiss on Lucia's forehead. "I'm sorry, will you forgive me?" he whispered as he ran a hand through her hair, although he knew she wouldn't be able to hear him.
"She will be under full supervision until she wakes up." He said as he straighten back up, resuming his professional tone. "When she does, I will need to draw blood to check again and confirm that the virus is totally out of her system." Taking a step back, he allowed Yuurei to come closer. "Do you... want to stay here and wait?"

Yuurei sighed in relief as Kyou answered her question, not at herself, but talking to Lucia. It didn’t matter who he was talking to, she finally understood. Releasing the frei, Yuurei watched as Kyou walked over and picked up Lucia like she was a feather; the same way Rivener had. The woman was surprised, however, as she watched Kyou’s demeanor change. He was typically so business-like, but with Lucia he was gentle and soft. It was surprising and gave him another dimension in her understanding. The frei's bright white rune glow was slowly dimming and regaining a purple tint.
As he kissed the frei’s forehead a smile played on her guardian’s lips. It was the way Lucia wished she could be treated, but never let on. Suddenly it was over and Kyou was back to professional, back to the business-like man he was typically around her. As he moved back Yuurei stepped up and placed her hand on the frei’s cold fingers that were sticking out of the black splint.
”Yes – if you don’t mind – I would like to stay.” From the way Kyou had been so caring after openly deceiving the frei, she almost felt obligated to stay in the cold office. If he hadn’t been that way with her, who knows. Yuurei pulled a chair up to the side of the table and sat down, her warm hand returning to Lucia’s frigged. ”So now – I wait?”
