Bright beams of crimson sunlight painted the fields of the Kawani lands and seeped through the dense branches of trees to the leaf covered ground below. Beneath a particularly massive pile of leaves the black nose of a coyote poked through and sniffed the air, small puffs of visible breath rising in the cold air. The creature below the leaves could feel the temperature falling; she could tell night was coming. It was only a matter of time.
Aderes stood, rising to her paws from her temporary bed, shaking her coat vigorously to remove any leaves that still clung to her. She lifted her head to the sky, a soft growl emitting from deep within her throat as she stared with colorless eyes; she hated the sun. Soon though the world would be enveloped in the darkness of night - soon it would be time for her to 'play'. With a soft chuckle at the though of screams in the night Aderes padded forward, deeper into the forest, to begin her hunt.
