Introduction/ Table of Contents "Gîl síla na lû govaded." - an elvish greeting meaning 'A star shines upon the time of our meeting.'
But now, no one greets one another in such a way. True, the Dark Lord Sauron has fallen at the hands of the King of man, Isildur. But his Ring of Power has been lost. Some think of it as no consequence. There is a restlessness among the elves, however. Ages have passed, and all thought of the Ring has passed out of thought and mind. It is now the Third Age of Middle Earth- 2938.
Galadriel, queen of the elves, and Elrond, lord of Rivendell, have commissioned those who would heed the call to search for the One Ring, before it falls into the wrong hands and to destroy it once and for all. Not wanting Man to fail as their kings once had, Galadriel and Elrond call upon other races in order to help ensure the greed of Man would not falter and that the task will be completed.

Races and Classes RacesThese are only the races available to be played...keep in mind, there are others that you will meet that are NPCs.~ Man~ There are several sub-races of Man. - Breelanders: Men who share a community with Hobbits in Bree outside The Shire
- Corsairs of Umbar: Men who are descended from Gondorians, but have become pirates
- Easterlings: Men from the Eastern land of Rhûn who have allied themselves with Sauron
- Gondorians: Men descended from the ancient kingdom of Númenor. (Those from the land of Gondor)
- Haradrim: Southern men who have allied themselves with Sauron
- Rohirrim: Men who are renowned as Horse-Lords. (Those from the Province of Rohan)
- Wild Men (Dunlendings): Men who were displaced by the Rohirrim~ Elf~ Elves are immortal. They can only die in battle. When they grow tired of Middle Earth, they go to the Grey Havens, which are near The Shire and sail to the Undying Lands. as the Third Age of Middle Earth comes to an end, the time of the Elves is waning. Only a few remain. Elves have a love of nature and they live in forests. They are skilled craftsmen. Major settlements remain in Lothlórien (home of Celeborn and Galadriel), Mirkwood (home of Legolas), and Rivendell (home to Elrond). They distrust Dwarves because of their greedy tendancies. Even as their time is waning, Elves play an important role in Sauron's defeat. Arwen bears a wounded Frodo to safety. Elrond heals Frodo and later sends Haldir with a force of Elves to assist King Théoden in the defense of Helm's Deep. Elrond also brings the reforged Narsil to Aragorn. Celeborn gives the Fellowship sanctuary in his domain. Galadriel gives each member of the Fellowship gifts, many of which aid in the completion of their quest. Legolas was part of the Fellowship. ~ Dwarf~ Dwarves are shorter in stature than Men, but stout. They are renowned for their skill in metal working, mining and wood-cutting as well as their love of feasting and drinking ale. They tend to hoard precious metals, which has led to problems such as when they delved too deeply for mithril in Moria and awakened a Balrog which was known as Durin's Bane. Dwarves are skilled in decorative metalwork. Axes are often their weapon of choice. They are quick-tempered and are distrustful of Elves. It is hard to discern dwarf women from the men becaue they also have beards.~ Wizard~ The Wizards were from the order of the Maiar and are more properly called Istari. There were five of them (though only two appear in the films & only three appear in the books) that were sent to Middle Earth early in the Third Age to help fight Sauron. In The Fellowship of the Ring: Gandalf came to The Shire for Bilbo's birthday party. He had begun to be suspicious of Bilbo's ring. He insisted that Bilbo leave the ring behind with his nephew Frodo. Gandalf then went to Minas Tirith where he researches in the old libraries. He then returns to The Shire where he tests Bilbo's old ring. It turns out to be the One Ring of Power. Gandalf then warns Frodo to keep it safe and to make plans to leave The Shire and make for Bree. Gandalf then went to Isengard to meet with the head of the order, Saruman the White, It turns out that Saruman has already been corrupted by the temptations of the power of the Ring. When Gandalf refused to cooperate, Saruman imprisoned him on top of the Tower of Orthanc. Gandalf escaped with the help of Gwaihir. He then went to Rivendell and participated in the Council of Elrond. He led the Fellowship into Moria where he fell battling a Balrog. Meanwhile, Saruman began building an army of Uruk-hai. In The Two Towers: Gandalf fell with the Balrog and they battled all the way down and then up to the top of Zirakzigil. He defeated the Balrog before dying. He was sent back to finish his task and he was picked up by Gwaihir. Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas found him roaming in Fangorn Forest. Then they rode to Edoras to warn the King of Rohan. Meanwhile, Saruman ordered his Uruk-hai to harass the villages of Rohan. In Edoras, Gandalf broke Saruman's spell on King Théoden. Against Gandalf's advice, Théoden then ordered the city to evacuate to Helm's Deep. Gandalf then rode out of Edoras. When Saruman learned of Théoden's orders, he sent his to attack and then later sent his Uruk-hai army to overrun Helm's Deep. Just as they seem poised to do so,Gandalf arrived with Éomer and a force of Rohirrim. The Uruk-hai were then driven into a forest that had just appeared, but none of them escaped the forest. Back at Isengard, the Ents had been roused to action. They had attacked and trapped Saruman in the Tower of Orthanc. In The Return of the King: Gandalf rode to Isengard to confront Saruman. He offered to forgive Saruman's trangressions if he'd help them defeat Sauron. Saruman scoffed at him and instead belittled his own spy Gríma Wormtongue, who ended up stabbing him. Saruman then fell from the Tower of Orthanc to his death. Gandalf then returned to Edoras before riding to Minas Tirith with Pippin. When he arrived, he found Denethor uninterested in his news. Later, when Sauron's army laid siege to the city, Denethor lost all hope and ordered the guards to abandon their posts.Gandalf countermanded his order and took over defense of the city. Gandalf faced the Witchking, which left him fatigued. He then joined Aragorn at the Black Gate of Mordor. He then rode with the Eagles to Mt Doom where they saved Frodo and Sam. Later, he returned to The Shire and then sailed from the Grey Havens for the Undying Lands, departing from Middle Earth.(If you have a really good reason for playing the classes below this mark, message me, and I will decide. But to be honest... some of these... why would you want to play them?)~ Eagles~ The race of Eagles were huge birds, being large enough to carry a man some distance. They are known to live high in the mountains and so they are not threatened by any with the possible exception of the Winged (Fell) Beasts. They are intelligent and reputed to be nearly as long-lived as Elves. They are led by Gwaihir, the Wind-Lord. Gwaihir himself twice aids Gandalf, helping him escape from Isengard. Saruman had imprisoned Gandalf on the top of the Tower of Orthanc and was threatening to throw him off the tower when Gwahir arrived to bear him away. After his battle with the battle with the Balrog on the top of Zirakzigil, Gwaihir bore his body away from the summit. The Eagles also joined the battle at the Black Gate of Mordor where they drove off the Winged (Fell) Beasts. Following Sauron's defeat, they carried Gandalf to Mount Doom and rescued Frodo and Sam.~ Ents~ Ents are tree-herders. They have come to look like trees. They live in Fangorn Forest, although Merry has heard tales of similar creatures in the Old Forest which borders The Shire. The Ents generally keep to themselves and only look after the trees of the forest. They are slowly dying off since the Ent-wives disappears many years ago. Toward the end of the Third Age, they are an almost forgotten legend. Merry and Pippin are saved from Grishnákh the Orc by Treebeard when they climb up his "trunk" thinking that he's a tree. He then takes them to his home, Wellinghall, where a Waking Tree nearly suffocates them before Treebeard returns. He then takes them to Derndingle where the Ents have gathered for an Entmoot to discuss the news that Merry and Pippin brought. After a long meeting, the Ents decide not to get involved, so Pippin asks Treebeard to take them south. In doing so, Treebeard sees how Saruman and his Orcs have been cutting and clearing the forest nearest to Isengard. This prompts Treebeard to call the Ents out to action against Saruman.~ Hobbits~ Hobbits are short in stature, generally around three and a half to four feet tall, which is why they are also known as Halflings. They are a simple, earthy people, who farm and live in expansive caves that they call Holes. They also enjoy conversation, a good cup of ale, smoking pipe weed and frequent meals and snacks. They have lived for years in The Shire mostly ignored by Big People. Only Dwarves on their way to the White Mountains and Elves on their way to the Grey Havens pass through The Shire and even they take little interest in the Halfling. Gandalf, a Wizard, has however taken an interest in Hobbits and periodically visits The Shire. Hobbits turn out to be very important to all of Middle Earth in that Bilbo Baggins had been a Ringbearer for years and his nephew Frodo Baggins bears the burden of the One Ring all the way to Mt. Doom in Mordor. The destruction of the Ring leads to Sauron's downfall and defeat.~ Orcs~ Orcs are said to be the result of the corruption of Elves. They do not like the light and prefer dark places like caves such as Moria. They generally don't even come out in daylight. They enjoy destruction and serve evil in Middle Earth such as Sauron and Saruman. Orcs in the service of Saruman chop down the trees of Isengard and even the edge of Fangorn Forest. They help him carve out the Caverns under Tower of Orthanc. Orcs in the service of Sauron actually join the party of Saruman's Uruk-hai that have captured Merry and Pippin. Orcs are part of the Minas Morgul army that overruns Osgiliath and then lays siege to Minas Tirith. Orcs stationed at the Tower of Cirith Ungol find Frodo after he was pricked by Shelob. The Orcs then end up almost completely killing each other off when a fight starts over Frodo's Mithril Coat.~ Trolls~ Trolls are huge creatures that stand at least ten feet tall. They are evil hearted and many serve Sauron. It has been said that they were made "in mockery" of Ents. Many trolls cannot survive sunlight. However, Sauron managed to breed trolls that were unaffected by sunlight. After Frodo was wounded at Weathertop with a Morgul blade by the Witchking, the Hobbits and Aragorn made camp by three trolls that had turned to stone. These were the three trolls that Bilbo had encountered on his adventure to the Lonely Mountain. When the Fellowship travelled through Moria, they found Balin's Tomb. They discovered the fate of Balin's colony and stayed too long. They were then attacked by a force of Orcs who had brought a Cave Troll with them. The cave troll looked to have seriously wounded Frodo which threw the rest of the Fellowship into a frenzy and finally kill it. When Frodo, Sam and Gollum arrived at the Black Gate of Mordor, large trolls (Olog-hai) that are unaffected by the daylight can be seen guarding the gate as well as operating the huge mechanisms that open and close the gate. Both during the siege of Minas Tirith and later at the battle at the Black Gate of Mordor, the Olog-hai trolls are part of Sauron's army and usually armed with huge warhammers or maces. ~ Uruk-hai~ The Uruk-hai are the product of Saruman's attempts to create a fighter that improved on Orcs by being far stronger and unaffected by sunlight. It is theorized that they resulted from breeding of Orcs and Men. There were also apparently Uruk-hai in Mordor in the service of Sauron, although these don't seem to appear onscreen in the films. It is unknown whether these Uruk-hai are directly related to Saruman's breed of Uruk-hai. In The Fellowship of the Ring: Saruman sends Lurtz and his Uruk-hai to capture the Halflings unspoiled (alive) and bring them back to Isengard. At Amon Hen, Lurtz is killed by Aragorn, but the Uruk-hai do succeed in capturing Merry and Pippin. In The Two Towers: Uglúk leads the Uruk-hai back toward Isengard with Merry and Pippin. They cross through Rohan as Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas track them. The Uruk-hai party ends up being wiped out by a force of Rohirrim and Merry and Pippin escape into Fangorn Forest. Meanwhile, Saruman sends patrols of Uruk-hai on raids into the Westfold. These raids prompt King Théoden to evacuate the city of Edoras to the mountain keep of Helms Deep. When he does so, Saruman sends an amry of Uruk-hai to destory the keep. The army does manage to breach the Deeping Wall and are beginning to overrun the Hornburg when Gandalf and Éomer arrive with a force of Rohirrim. Trees that apparently have come from Fangorn Forest block the fleeing Uruk-hai's escape and wipe the rest of the army out.~ Dragons~ ___________________________________________________ ClassesInformation based on and obtained from LotROnline- Vault When selecting a class, make sure it makes sense to your race. I have put what races can be what after each description of the classes.~ Thief~ A stealthy trickster, the Thief takes cover in the shadows, the darkness his fortress from which he strikes to weaken or cripple his enemies. A Thief will stun or trip their mark solely to give advantage and edge to the rest of his party in striking the hapless prey. A burglar himself is easy prey when he is alone, but it is best to make sure that he truly *is* alone before attacking. The Thief will be the class of choice for players that enjoy using cunning and tricks to defeat their opponents. Using concealment, a Thief can strike from the shadows, taking his opponents unawares. With his wit, a Thief can show his allies where a foe's weakness lies -- or trap someone in a riddle. A Thief's combat style hinges on his ability to outmaneuver and outwit opponents while hitting them where it hurts.May be played by: Man only ~ Sword master~ A true master of arms, the Sword Master excels at combat, focusing on little other than destroying her foes. The Sword Master's whirling blades can strike fear into the heart of even the foulest orc, cutting down swaths of their numbers at once. While a Sword Master's training and armor grants him some survivability, it is not her focus, and a Sword Master can quickly find himself in trouble when facing several foes on his own. The Sword Master will be the class of choice for players that enjoy fast-paced combat with multiple options available at any given moment. Sword Masters can use various weapon styles, but focus on using two weapons simultaneously. With their active play-style Sword Masters are able to consistently cause large amounts of damage to both single and multiple opponents in combat. Their style of combat revolves around the idea that the best defense is a good offense.May be played by: Man or Elf ~ Ranger~ Woodsman, pathfinder, and master of the bow, the keen-eyed Ranger can use his arrows to devastating effect from a distance. Archery is not the only thing the Ranger excels at, for he can lead his companions through the forest at greater speed than they could on their own, and can set up traps to ambush enemies. The archer is no close-quarters fighter, however, and would generally rather let his bow do the work than resort to his sword. The Ranger will be the class of choice for players who enjoy striking a target at range. Clever by nature, the Ranger is known to lure his targets into traps to hinder them, giving him time to use his bow to deadly effect. A Ranger's knowledge of nature also provides skills that help him and his fellows survive in the wild. A Ranger's combat style depends on the ability to injure a foe while staying out of harm's way.May be played by: any ~ Minstrel~ With song and tale, a Minstrel brings hope to places thick with gloom. She can inspire those with desperate minds and heavy hearts to great deeds. In battle, she can turn the tide with songs that strengthen her allies and dirges which strike fear into the hearts of enemies. The Minstrel will be the class of choice for players who want to aid their friends, inspiring them to keep going through the darkest of times. With a vast repertoire of tales both fair and foul, a Minstrel restores the morale of her fellows, as well as causing enemies to despair. Though able to wield weapons, she prefers to let her words, rather than her sword, speak for her. A Minstrel's style of combat is based on maintaining hope no matter what the odds.May be played by: any ~ Warden~ The Warden is a master of the spear and javelin. Sworn to protect those who can not protect themselves. At home in the thick of Melee, the Warden weaves powerful combination of attacks to fell her foes, and strengthen her own resolve against the Dark Lord. The Warden will be the class of choice for those who chose the combined combat of archer and melee. Wielding a Javelin, the Warden is able to make far away attacks and close melee attacks. Using a gambit to make special attacks, this character has everything to offer someone who enjoys playing both ranged and melee characters. May be played by: Man or Elf ~ Captain~ Bearing his banner into battle, a Captain provides hope and leadership to his fellows, inspiring them to greater deeds. A skilled Captain can rally a party back from the brink of defeat, or seal a victory against many foes. While a Captain is a respected fighter on his own accord, he is primarily driven by her powerful sense of leadership to those fighting around him. The Captain will be the class of choice for players who enjoy supporting their fellows while participating in melee combat. With her unique ability to plant banners to increase the battle prowess of those near them, the Captain helps to define where a fight will happen. His battle cries allow her to take advantage of certain events in combat to aid the morale or combat ability of his fellows. A Captain's style of combat focuses on inspiring those around him to glory.May be played by: Man only ~ Guardian~ A doughty fighter and protector of the weak, a skilled Guardian can face even the toughest foes and survive. The Guardian is one of the few classes willing and able to try to draw more blows onto themselves, so they can retaliate with devastating maneuvers in response. The Guardian will be the class of choice for players that enjoy drawing the attention of their foes in combat and taking advantage of their missteps. Masters of the defensive arts, Guardians use taxing attacks and irksome taunts to draw and hold opponents' attention, relying on their shield and weapon to turn aside incoming attacks with blocks and parries. A Guardian's combat style depends on creating openings during an opponent's attack to provide the opportunity for their own counter attack.May be played by: any ~ Lore Master~ A keeper of ancient lore and otherwise lost knowledge, the Lore-master uses his knowledge of the lesser and greater powers of the world around him to stave off the advances of the shadow for a time, and to treat the wounds and suffering of his companions. In dire need he can use this knowledge to hurt his foes; but this task being extremely difficult, a wise Lore-master would rarely attempt it. The Lore-master will be the class of choice for the player that enjoys using the power of ancient lore to aid their allies and hinder their foes. Steeped in the histories of Middle-earth Lore-masters are able to aid their fellows in recovering from maladies caused by the forces of the Dark Lord. They can also use their knowledge to daze, harm, or hinder their enemies, as well as give of themselves to strengthen another. Some Lore-masters are even said to be able to communicate with animals and request their aid. A Lore-master's combat style is anchored in the power of knowledge and using it intelligently to defeat evil.May be played by: Man or Elf ~ Rune-Keeper~ The Rune-keeper is a master of the powers of ancient runes. The magical qualities of these secret words can be used to turn the elements against his foes or inspire his allies to continue the fight against the forces of the enemy. The Rune-keeper will be the class of choice for those who enjoy healing and fighting. While the Rune-Keeper can not do both at the same time, this will give the player the option to chose which fighting style suits their mood. May be played by: any

The Company Accepted Profiles Rilma_Jaerls Username: Rilma_Jaerls Character Name: Adonneniel Race: Elf Class: Rune-Keeper Age (estimate): 2000 Appearance: AdonnenielWeapons: Primary- A short sword through which she channels her magic Secondary- A celtic sword for melee battle Abilities: As a Rune-Keeper, Adonnenniel (Adonni for short) bears various tattoo-runes on her body and they give her the ability to use different kinds of magic- mostly healing as well as several types of attacks. She speaks the words needed for the spells in her native tongue of Elvish. However, if her casting is interrupted, she is not too deep in trouble. She can use the sword used to channel her spells as a melee weapon as well. She cannot be casting a spell and be in melee battle at the same time. Languages: Elvish and Common Background Info: From the line of Numenor, Adonneniel is the daughter of Tindomiel, daughter of Elros Tar-Minytaur, who is the brother of Elrond. Conceived in the Third age, around the year 900, her parents left for the undying lands not long after she was born. Elrond took her in and raised Adonni alongside his two sons- Elladin and Elrohir and his daughter- Arwen. Being the younger of the four, Adonni kept to herself, longing a bit to travel the lands of Middle Earth. She takes to studying the ancient scripts of Elves, Man, and Dwarves and focuses on learning the spells and powers long sought after by those before her. By the age of 1500, she has become very skilled in these arts, using a sword given to her by Elladin and Elrohir as a means to channel her abilities. So as not to be lugging around heavy manuscripts to read from while traveling, Adonneniel has tattooed various runes and spells on her arms and upper torso- right arm containing offensive spells, left arm with healing, and her torso marked with prayers. A couple years before Elrond and Galadriel issue the call to search for the One Ring, a young human boy is brought to live with Elrond and his family- the elves call him Estel… Elrond confides within Adonneniel that the boy is key to the future of Middle Earth and that he must be kept hidden and safe until the time came… Tamaku-Winged Angel Username: Tamaku-Winged Angel Character Name: Jolan Darras Race: Dragon Class: Guardian of Numenor Age (estimate): Unknown, he is thought to have been born around 3180 in the second age. Appearance: Dragon: Human: Weapons: Primary-Longsword/Longsword (dual wielder) Secondary-Mighty Composite Longbow Abilities:Shape shift (human only) Draconic senses (sight, smell, blind sense, infravision) Draconic might (only in dragon form: Flight, breath weapon). Languages:Elvish, Common, Draconic, various other forgotten languages as well. Background Info: A self hating creature, Jolan was once a mighty warrior for the Numenorian army. Jolan was Isildur's personal guardian, appointed by his father Elendil. It was by his aid King Isildur was able to sever the ring from Sauron's hand. Despite Jolan's adamant protest, Isildur took the ring for himself. Jolan had little choice but to continue protecting his lord, despite the ever increasingly maddening look that took over his lord's face. When they were ambushed by the Orcs in the Misty Mountains, Jolan ultimately failed to save his lord, but managed to secure the ring and flee. Wounded and nearly dead, Jolan was saved by Eladryia, a mysterious elvish woman who had been living in the mountains for some time. He spent 4 years recovering in her care, ultimately falling in love with her, but it was for naught. She was a learned dragon, a shape shifter who took elven form when she needed it. They could never be together, and the revelation of this fact drove Jolan to madness. He left the Misty mountains after wards, swearing he would return to her of proper form. The rings corrupting influence is thought to have had an effect on his judgment, but he made to rid himself of the accursed thing first. He fell prey to an evil dragon named Psyraxias, he promised him the form he desired in exchange for equal trade. Jolan accepted, enduring the horrific process of Draconic synapses. Having achieved his goal, he took flight for the first time, disposing of the ring on the way, and made it back to Eladryia. They spent one day together, the makings of a lasting love, but Jolan had been fooled by Psyraxias, the price that had to be paid was by the blood of another dragon. The next morning he awoke to catch Psyraxias in the act of murdering Eladryia. In a rage he destroyed Psyraxias utterly, now cursed with immortality, and unable to spend it with the one he sacrificed everything for. It is said that he sought an Elven Runemaster of great standing some time after, a Mage who locked away his heart so that he could escape the pain he suffered. He spent much of his life among the elves, even becoming good friends with Elrond and Galadriel. He served the elves with distinction, resuming his duty as a guardian. He stills answers the call of the elves every now and then, but he has moved on to live alone in the an undisclosed location. Not much is know about his current ventures. Hinote-The Dragon Username: Hinote-The Dragon Character Name: Vorastrix The Black Race: Wizard Class: Lore Master Age (estimate): He stopped counting as his life is a long and expansive one. He does appear to be about 26 in Human years however. Appearance: VorastrixWeapons: Primary- StaffSecondary- Hidden Katars They are hidden up in his sleeves and come out when he wills it on a magic command word. Abilities: As a Lore Master, he is adept at many enfeebling forms of magic and even a few harmful spells. He knows few aiding spells which include minor healing and making one stronger or more dextrous. As a Wizard, he has been trained since he was able in the art of magic and uses it very handily and expertly. As such, he is very good at using holy-like spells to harm minions of the Dark Lord Sauron. Such spells are much more taxing on him than regular ones however... Languages: He is known to speak many different languages and has occasionally been seen speaking with animals. Background Info: In his past, Vorastrix has endured much training by his elder wizards, mostly the Great Gandalf the Grey. During his many years of study and training, he picked up on enfeebling magic the most, which frightened Gandalf at first. He noticed however, that Vorastrix had no bad intentions in him, he always would use his magic when necessary and for good causes. So Gandalf took him into more intensive training across the lands of Middle Earth. Vorastrix excelled no matter what trial was put forth to him. He and Gandalf became great friends and enjoyed their travels, especially the ones to the Shire and Elven lands. The younger Wizard found both places to be the most serene and peaceful, thusly enjoying each immensely. The Shire because the Hobbits were all so care free and fun loving. The Elven Kingdom because of it's beauty and loving denizens. In fact, Vorastrix was last seen in the Elven forests heading to Rivendell on request from Gandalf. Unfortunately the Elder Wizard was unable to go himself and asked for Vorastrix to go in his place. Vorastrix happily accepted his friends request and was now in a wagon pulled by two horses on a beaten old path that lead to Rivendell. The Wizard could hardly wait to return to this beautiful land...

Timeline To help avoid confusing others (as well as myself), this role play takes place during the Third Age of Middle Earth (also known as the War of the Ring) in the years of 2938-2942.
This is roughly right before and during Tolkien's story: 'The Hobbit'.

ExtrasFor those of you who are uber geeks like me, here is a site that will help you if you wish to use Elvish in your posts. There is one link that will lead you to just words from English to Elvish and vice versa. There is also a link that leads to phrases. Feel free to use this site. Another site that can be used if you can't find words on Arwen is here. This provides English to Elvish for a larger selection of words. I am currently working on finding a site for other languages that may be needed throughout the RP. When I find them, they will be posted here.

“Adonni! Adonni!” A young dark haired boy dashed across one of the many bridges of Rivendell, searching for one particular elf. He spotted her and ran faster. Her mahogany colored hair was easy enough to spot among the golds and greens of the elfish settlement. “Adonni!” His shout caused her to turn and she gave the boy a warm smile as he skidded to a halt just in front of her. “Adonni, dagor!”
The female chuckled softly as she knelt down to look the boy in the eye. “Dagor? Who is teaching you to ask me for a battle?”
“Elladin and Elrohir. They said it is important for a man to prove himself in battle.” The boy drew himself up to full height and drew a small wooden training sword.
Adonni smiled. “But picking a fight with a lady? They surely taught you better than that.” He seemed to deflate a little bit after the playful chiding and he put the toy sword away. “Now, Estel… you need to practice your Elvish. You are still having trouble with you ‘r’s.”
The boy made a bit of a face as he turned around to walk off. “Pelin pedi i lam edhellen…”
“Im gelir an le,” she smiled wider as he made one last face at her and ran off to find one of the other males in Rivendell to spar with. Sighing, Adonni stood up and walked back to the large book she was reading. There was a spell in this book that had her very intrigued and she was going to learn it… Pulling up the sleeve of her left arm, her fair skin marked with various tattoos- runes that spelled out spells in various languages. She finally found a space close to her shoulder where she could write out the spell. Dipping a quill into special ink, she wrote out the new spell. Letting the ink dry for a moment, she took a breath and blew on the ink. It darkened and was now permanently on her arm with the rest of the spells.
“Adonneniel,” came a stern male voice. She turned around and saw an aged male addressing her. She immediately bowed her head in respect.
“Yes, Lord Elrond?”
“I need for you to travel and find one being.”
“Is there a catch, my Lord?”
“A small hindrance, yes… I do not know where exactlyyou might find him.”
“That is… a minor hindrance…” She chuckled softly to herself and watched the male that had raised her. He did not look amused. “So you are sending me all around middle earth to find this one being? Surely he is of not that much importance.”
“On the contrary child, he is. I fought alongside him an age ago; he is a powerful warrior and a valuable ally.” Elrond began walking, the young female following behind him. “The last communication we received from him, he was residing within the Misty Mountians.”
“Not to be disrespectful, sir, but that is still a very expansive area to search.”
“I have faith in you, child. He is known as Beriothien. Some may laugh if you ask for him, thinking him to be dead. But he is far from it. Give him my name, and do your best to bring him back here with you. He may protest at first, but if you are persistent, I am sure he will be persuaded. Now, I am expecting other guests to arrive within the next few days, or else I would have gone myself.”
“Guests, my lord?”
“Yes. Two of the Wizards- Gandalf the Grey and Vorastrix the Black. Calo anor na ven.” He nodded to her and walked off, leaving her to think.
She sighed heavily again and made her way to the stables. Inhaling the scent of the horses deeply, she smiled and made her way down to the very last stall. Adonneniel was greeted with a soft whinny and the snuffling as a dark coated horse with a light colored mane and tail poked its head out above the door of the stall.
“Elenion…” she cooed, rubbing his velvety nose. “Nîn roch… No veren! Le im lenn.”
He whinnied again and pawed at the ground as she opened the door to the stall. Elenion pranced around as she lead him out of the stall and into a larger area to ready him for the long journey to the borders of the Dunlands. The beast seemed to make a face when she slid the bit into his mouth and strapped the bridle on him. With the saddle and other necessary items now secure as well, Adonneniel gracefully leapt up onto his back.
“Neth wen… you are going to leave without telling me?” a female voice asked. Arwen Undomiel stood at the entrance of the stables, her pale blue eyes focusing on the slightly younger female.
“Sister, your father asked me to go on this journey,” she patted the horse on the neck “I will be safe with Elenion at my side.” As if to affirm her statement, the horse moved his head up and down, nodding yes. “Besides, you will get Estal to yourself while I am gone.”
A faint blush came over the dark haired female's cheeks. She offered Adonneniel a small smile. “I fear not for your safety, but be on your guard none the less. Noro go hûl, bado go Eru.”
“I Melain berio le.”
Adonneniel nudged the horse, whispering commands into his ear. Elenion reared and immediately took off at a gallop. She passed by Estel, who seemed disappointed she had gone off on a journey without him. She also rode past Elrohir and Elladin, who both muttered prayers for a safe journey.
For what was left of the daylight hours, she managed to cross one of the fjords that surrounded Rivendell, and headed south, following along the base of the mountains. By nightfall, she had stopped for a short while to let Elenion rest. The horse laid down to rest and the elf sat down, leaning against the horse.
“Manen nalyë?” she asked as she looked up at the sky, following the stars in the sky- their light lit up her pale blue eyes. The runes that were not covered by cloth also gave off a faint glow. Elenion did not respond. He merely shifted his weight to the other side, pushing against the elf.
By the 5th day, she had made her way almost to Dunland. She looked up at the mountain range and sighed.
“My lord, you send one being to find a single being possibly living in one of the larger mountain ranges in Middle Earth… I will begin the search tomorrow. I think…” she patted Elenion on the neck. “You need to rest.” The beast snorted and pawed at the ground as if to prove he still had more energy to run.
Shaking her head, she gracefully leapt off her steed’s back and landed without a sound on the grass. It was steadily growing dark and she needed to meditate to restore her energy. Elenion knelt down on the ground just behind the she-elf to rest as well.

On a beaten old path outside of Rivendell, a small wagon was pulled by two horses. Just a small wagon of no real importance. It carried many trinkets and fireworks, something the wagon's owner loved to show off, among other things such as a bed roll and tent and other provisions. The man in black sat at the head of the wagon, making sure the horses were going the right way. He sighed and smiled at the beauty of the forest around him, happy to see these lands again along with the ever beautiful Rivendell. It had been a while since he had spoken with Elrond, the Lord of the city. Of course, the man in black hadn't appeared to age a day sicne last they met and smirked to himself about it. He had always looked this way for as long as he had lived and always would.
Not long after this train of thoughts, he came upon the outer walls of the Great City of Rivendell. Two armed guards stopped him and asked him, "Man eneth lín? O man dôr túliel le?" One of them asked him. He simply smiled and spoke back. "I am Vorastrix the Black. My presence was requested by Elrond." He said with a smile. The elves nodded and got out of his way, bidding him good day before they returned to their posts. His wagon continued on until his eyes lit up with a familiar glow. It was the sheer beauty of the land that caught his eyes and made them glow with happiness. He had made it to Rivendell. Allowing his horses to be led to the stables, he got off of the wagon and used his staff as a walking stick. Not that he needed it, it was more to show off status than anything. He walked around, greeting those that greeted him until he finally made his way to the capitol building where he would meet Elrond. Stepping inside the building, he looked around and waited for soemone to come by and ask if he needed help. He replied with a simple, "Yes. I am here to see Elrond." The elf quickly recognized him as a Wizard and nodded, going to retrieve Lord Elrond. Vorastrix remained silent as he waited patiently for the Elven Lord of Rivendell.

" Travel safe my friends. My words are the last friendly ones you will hear in these mountains..."
" Thank you Jolan. You are a valiant soul. Peace be with you always!"
Jolan waved to a small caravan of humans, the last of which had said one final goodbye to the man who had shown such selfless generosity. It wasn't long after that they disappeared amongst the snowdrift, the wind now howling through the mountains. Jolan stared on a long while though, the snow forming around his sturdy frame.
" Poor souls, I doubt it will be the cold that does them in..."
The snow had become rather thick at this point, making it seem as if the world had disappeared around him. Try as it may, the snow could not deceive him. He took to the east of his farewell, heading further into the mountains. It took not but a few hours for him to reach his intended destination, a single cliff side cave, just out of easy viewing of the path Isildur took through the mountains some 3000 years ago. Jolan stepped into the cave, his woolen attire painted thick white with the snow. He took one last look outside as if to hope that the band of humans would still be within his domain to help.
" Although it would be better if the cold did..."
Jolan soon disappeared into the mouth of the cave, leaving on his single sentence outside to drift amongst the snow.

Elrond gave Vorastrix a warm smile as he approched- as warm as could be expected from the aged elf. He held out an arm to escort the Wizard throughout his home. "It is good to see you again, old friend. Although, I am disappointed Gandalf could not accompany you. But forgive me, it will be a short while before things may commence. We are expecting at least one more."
********** At first light, Adonneniel roused Elenion and the began their trek up the mountains. Although the horse had to drag his legs through the thick powdery snow they higher in altitude the got, the elf walked alongside him, leading him with the reins. She left very faint footprints on the top layer of snow and only wore light cloth boots. She stopped every once in a while to let Elenion catch his breath and regain the feeling in his powerful legs. "Thalion Óre..." she would murmur, rubbing his velvety nose.
Near mid day, a storm had begun to brew and Adonni came across a band of traveling humans. They seemed in awe of the elf as she approached them through the snow. "... L-Lady elf!" the apparent leader stammered. "It- it is an honor..."
She smiled sweetly and patted Elenion on the nose, telling him to stop. "Fellow travelers. I need to ask something of you. You look well rested. Where did you find your sanctuary, and with whom?"
The leader pointed the direction they had come from. It would be easy enough for the elf to follow their tracks, provided the wind and snowdrifts had not destroyed the earliest. "A man named Jolan lives just that a-way. He saved us when we surely thought we would freeze to death, but he has renewed our strength!"
She nodded and faced them, the hope that this Jolan could point her towards Beriothien. "It will be difficult for you to travel in the mountains. Why not stick to the bases of the mountains?"
"It is quicker to travel to Rohan over them."
"Why not travel further south to the Gap of Rohan?"
"Fangorn, m'lady... had too many a-close encounters there..."
"I see... be safe in your journey..." as she started to turn and leave, one of the younger members in the caravan called out to her.
"Lady Elf... could you..." he looked up at her with eager brown eyes, "... could you speak elvish to us?!" He grinned wide and he reminded her of Estel.
"As payment for your information, yes..." She placed her hands on the boy's head and murmured softly... loud enough to for the boy to hear her over the howling wind. "Ná Elbereth veria le, ná elenath dín síla erin rád o chuil lín..." Seeing the confused looks the others gave her, she offered the best translation. "May Elbereth protect you, may her stars shine on the path of your life... Take care."
She turned and led Elenion one direction, following the steadily fading tracks of the human travelers. The horse would make various noises that would alert of their coming- an occasional whiny or snort, sifting his legs through the thick snow...

Vorastrix smiled back to his old friend. "Elrond, good to see you again as well. Yes it is most unfortunate. He sends his regards and apologies that he could not make it himself." He said. He kept his smile after he heard the news of the delay. "Oh? May I ask who is still to show?" He asked Elrond as they walked throughout the house. He always had loved elven architecture. So beautiful and elegant, it just seemed to inspire his mind to think of many new things. New fireworks he and Gandalf could create to name one. He brought his mind back to the present and awaited Elrond's reply.

" The elf makes so much noise in the snow a dwarf could ambush her..."
The dark of snow was suddenly lit up by a small burst of flame. Jolan sat relaxed against a large boulder a pipe lit in his mouth. He took a few puffs before smiling, and leaping down from the boulder.
" Mae govannen Hiril Edhel. I am Jolan of Numenor. I would like to thank you for checking upon those travelers. Allow me to repay your kindness. Come this cold is rather bothersome for those who have not long endured it's bite."
Jolan waved for her to follow leading her back up the mountain to the cave in the cliff side. The cave was well lit, several torches burned upon the cave walls. The main area of the cave consisted of a dining area complete with a well stocked kitchen. A door lead off to the east of the kitchen. To the west of the kitchen was a living area containing a fireplace, two chairs, and a small coffee table.
" Your horse should be fine to stay in here. Feel free to stable him anywhere there is room. My home is your home. Now if you do not mind my asking what has brought you all the way out here? Not exactly a place to venture to, especially for an elf."
Jolan offered Adonneniel some Elven wine and some cheese.
