II. What is it?
What is a Secret Santa?
A Secret Santa is a fun event between friends where you get a gift for someone else. People sign up to give a gift and then a match is randomly selected from the other participants. They go and get a gift within the set budget and wrap the gift. (We can't do that on Gaia anymore.) They then give the gift on Christmas to the person they were chosen to give it to and get a gift either from the same person or someone else. Everyone is happy.
Okay, what do I do?
Well, you first get the form below and fill it out. Be sure that you really want to give someone a gift and have the money and commitment to do so and post it in the thread. I will go and add your name to the list and you wait to see who you get. After you get your name, check them out and see what they would want (within the budget and reason). Buy a gift and wait for the exchange date. On the date, jump out with a trade and suprise them. Enjoy the laughter and fun.
Can I sign up more than once?
Sure, I'll let you. Signing up a second time means that you're willing to spend at least the budget minimum on more than one person. You are allowed to sign up a maximum of 2 times so that you don't flood others out.
You have to repost your form each time for a new slot. Copypaste is fine, but do not say "see my previous form" or some derivative thereof. It makes it easier on me. Your other times than your first will be placed on the list like so: "X. Name (#)" with # being the time you signed up.
What if I'm not here on the exchange date?
You should tell me first before that happens. Tell me how long you will be gone incase you have to leave for a relative's or such. Notify me ahead of time and we can work something out~ :'D
How about if I sign up, get a gift, but don't feel like giving one?
Secret Santa is about giving a gift and recieving one, and if you don't do both, you're not a good person. Don't sign up if you aren't going to give a gift. If you do sign up and don't send your gift for 2 weeks without telling me why, I won't respect you. :<
What can I give?
You can give anything like an item on their wishlist, something that is their favorite color, or even get them art from a nice artist. Anything goes as long as it is in fact a gift. Preferably an item or art please, no IOUs.
Just stay within budget so that if you give a halo, everyone else doesn't go "damn why didn't you get ME a halo?"

III. Rules
1. Follow Gaia T.O.S. and no flaming in the thread.
2. The Budget for this Secret Santa is something worth between the amounts of 5-15k. If you go over, that's okay, but do not be giving anyone a donation item for it and expect to get anything like it in return.
3. If you are not going to get a gift for someone else or are not going to commit to it, do not join.
4. Don't put down "whatever is fine"! It confuses people. Put down some minimal requirements like "I like blue items" or "I could use another pair of pants that go with my avatar." Or say art. Just don't leave things too vauge.
If you are vauge and you get something following your vauge description that you don't like, it is your fault, not the Santa's.
5. Stay within the budget!
6. Don't tell your Secret Santa who you are before your date! And if you tell someone else who if you are asking what they like, make sure you trust them enough not to tell who you are giving it to!
7.Stay calm and collected when you recieve your gift. Do not harass them for what they gave you.
