Character's Name: Kǔ Huǒyàn
◊
Gender: Female
◊
Age: 1,136 years of age. Appears to be around 18.
◊
Race/Species: Human Immortal
◊
Personality: Kǔ Huǒyàn is violent, and quick to anger, though she doesn't let her anger control her. She is tempered in fire like good steel, and though she is quick to lash out at those that enrage her, she does not let her rage consume her good judgment. She prefers to settle all disputes with senseless brutality, not being one for negotiation. If there is a brutal job to be done, she will be there to do it, and with great pleasure.
◊
Appearance: At first glance, it would be hard to believe such a slight girl could be so vicious. She stands about five foot two, and wears a Chinese gown, black, decorated with red blossoms, her feet garbed in soft slippers, and stockings run up her legs and gloves up her arms, all in black. Her hair splits in two at the top, and a pair of what appear to be chopsticks rest in the crook of her hair, though these are throwing weapons in all truth. A black and purple butterfly pin rests on the left side of her hair, and a silver headband with an obsidian stone adorns her forehead. She wears a simple jade pendant, the only gift from her mother she ever kept, and the only memory of her she treasures.
◊
Background Story: Kǔ Huǒyàn was born to a prostitute and a bandit, and grew up in a brothel in a small village during the time of the Tang Dynasty. She killed her first man at the tender age of seven when he tried to force himself on her. From that point on she was known as the 'bloody child' and was avoided. She was sharp for her age, and ambitious, unlike her mother, who accepted her lot in life. Upon gaining her tenth winter, Kǔ ran away from home.
Kǔ had an extreme dislike of men, and disdained their company everywhere she went. She fought like a demon and kept herself free of the touch of men. She swore an oath to always remain virgin to a man's touch, and chose instead to take the company of women. She rose to become a bandit warlord, famous for her harem of kidnapped girls and women. It was around the age of sixteen that she encountered an unusual man with white hair who had been hired to dispatch her due to her kidnappings.
Unlike most men she'd fought, this one did not notice her charms in the least, and fought her with honor and power. For the first time in her entire life, she was left soundly defeated. When she asked to know the name of the one man who had not looked at her like simple flesh, but as a warrior, he called himself Yin. He then told her that her internal rage and bitterness were powerful things, and if she wished to attain immortality. Kǔ agreed, and Yin mixed her an elixir.
From that point on, Kǔ has served Yin faithfully. While she despises other men and would turn on them in an instant, she maintains loyalty to Yin simply because he treats her as an equal in battle, and not like a woman or a prize to be conquered. She has entertained designs on his throne for many years, however, and while he knows this, and it amuses him, they occasionally plot against one another.
◊
Job/Occupation: Kǔ is Yin's primary enforcer. She works in his mercenary organization as a secretary to the outward eye, but in reality, she is his most powerful general, and the enforcer of the rules. If anyone breaks the rules, she is the one they must face down.
◊
How does your character know about the Crisis?- Kǔ knows about the events transpiring via Yin himself. Kǔ has designs on the armor for herself in order to finally be able to seize the reins of power from Yin, though he most likely already knows this.
◊
Siding: Kǔ sides with whatever side Yin finds himself on. Just like Yin however, she is in this entirely for herself.
◊
Powers/Abilities: As an Earthly Immortal, Kǔ has many unusual powers. She has the default abilities that all Immortals have. She can walk on clouds, leap great distances and land without harm, and has greatly enhanced physical strength, endurance, and agility. Kǔ's unique powers are over one of the elements, her personal element being Fire. She can generate fire from any part of her body, assume a fire form, summon fire elementals, transmute rock into molten rock, and generate great waves of heat throughout the air. Kǔ can also superheat parts of her body when making physical attacks in order to do much greater damage. If it can be done with fire or heat, Kǔ can do it. The power of heat also allows Kǔ to fly by creating lift and thrust. Kǔ is also capable of creating electricity via heat and agitation, and she can emit heat lightning as a very potent, fatal attack.
Most immortals have enhanced capabilities, but one always stands out above the others. Kǔ is massively strong. She has such great physical strength that surpasses nearly anything that is on her level, and at times even those beyond. Kǔ's full strength has never been measured precisely, but it is said she is capable of punching through solid steel doors, even without heating her body, given enough time and anger. The more enraged Kǔ is, the stronger she becomes. Anger is her strength.
◊
Weaknesses: Immortals have no specific weaknesses per se, and they cannot be truly killed, save by specifically prepared weapons and items designed via strange processes and alchemy by those who know the immortal state. If anything, Kǔ's only real weakness is that she can be injured the same as any human, and she can grow tired. Inevitably, while her endurance is superhuman, it is not limitless, and even an immortal comes to a point where he cannot fight further. Kǔ does not need to eat or breathe, but if placed in an airless chamber, she will not be able to use her fire powers, as fire requires air in order to burn. If Kǔ takes what would be a fatal injury to a normal person, she instead falls unconscious, and must recover over a period of hours or days depending on the severity of the injury.
Kǔ is also easily distracted by beautiful women; despite her hatred of men, she has a deep seated lust similar to that of a man, and uses women indiscriminately. As Kǔ's element is a true Taoist element, it has an elemental weakness, that being primarily water, and to a lesser degree, earth. However, Kǔ has great power over the elements of Wood and Metal, as they are weak to her element.
◊
Gear: Kǔ has a unique magical weapon she attained in one of her raids; a Guandao named Shīxuè Huǒkēng [Blood Loss Living Hell]. This weapon has several properties, the first of which is to [Burn the Blood]. Upon contact with flesh and blood, the victim's blood vessels all begin to superheat and burn, causing heat trauma and fire damage. This travels through all of the victim's blood cells at an accelerated rate, eventually causing severe brain damage and death. In beings that still have blood but are immortal, such as immortals, celestials, and the like, this causes intense, searing pain and fire damage that ends in severe heat trauma damage. She may choose if the weapon does this or not when using it. Also, like the woman herself, the weapon can superheat to simply cause greater overall damage on a strike.
Typical of an Immortal's weapon, it also only acknowledges Kǔ, and will return to her hand if she summons it, even if it is in the hand of another; if it is held or confined, it will disperse into wisps of flame and return to her thus. The weapon can also be used as a 'tuning channel' for Kǔ's fire emission powers, and enhance them to much greater damaging power and area of effect. She can engulf the weapon in flames, and extend her reach thus, as well as cause fire damage. The weapon's heat is said to be able to melt metals that fire cannot normally touch. Kǔ can mentally control her weapon and direct it to fight without having to actually hold it.
◊
Other: Kǔ does not know any sorcery, but because of her constant anger-focused mindset, she cannot be mentally controlled, charmed, enchanted, or otherwise forced to act against her own will. While Yin is not sure if this means she cannot be assimilated, it makes it a potential possibility, meaning that she is one of his greatest, if not the greatest asset against the threat.
