The Carpathians begin on the Danube near Bratislava. They surround Transcarpathia and Transylvania in a large semicircle, sweeping towards the south-west, and end on the Danube near Orşova, in Romania. The total length of the Carpathians is over 1,500 km, and the mountain chain's width varies between 12 and 500 km. The greatest width of the Carpathians corresponds with its highest altitudes. The system attains its greatest breadth in the Transylvanian plateau and in the meridian of the Tatra group (the highest range, with Gerlachovský štít, at 2,655 m (8,705 feet) above sea level in Slovak territory near the Polish border). It covers an area of 190,000 km² and, after the Alps, is the most extensive mountain system in Europe.
They are also home to an ancient race. The Carpathians.

Ki Lyra Lex Leir
Ki raced through the snow swells as she neared her goal. There was a little town here that should provide her with a bit of cover so she could stop for a bit. She was in pain and could feel the blood seeping into her boots from a wound in her thigh. Each step reminded her to keep moving. There was a small in that she had stopped at once before in her travels. The owner didn't ask any questions and was rather good at fixing wounds. Ki had to wonder what The inn keepers secret was. Her green eyes flashed as she took in her surroundings, her instincts kicking in as she dove to the ground and an arrow shaft split through the bun her hair was in. s**t she thought as she heard her pursuer rushing towards her.
Lyra walked calmly down a small path that had been carved in the white powder that covered the forest. She glanced up and saw the shining of the first stars of the night. This was always her favorite time of night, when she awoke and greeted the stars above her. The silence surrounding her was broken however when she heard hurried foot steps. And then another pair. Curious she walked towards the runners and was about to call out to the one when she suddenly flung herself down to the ground. That was when she saw that the other was pointing a crossbow at the girl. With a frown she used the small water particle that littered the air to bounce light around and cause the girl to become all but invisible. She quickly turned to mist and rushed to the girls side, reforming beside her. "I am here to assist you." The girl gave her a hard stare but nodded. Lyra helped the young woman up and after lifting her, much to her surprise, the two females were flying to the town near by. "I do believe that this is the most fun I've had since I awoke." she said as they touched down on a roof top.
Lex and Leir were currently waiting in the outskirts of town for Gregori to contact them. They had grown up as brothers and had formed a bond as warriors when they had lost their colors and emotions.Lex wished that Leir wouldn't have followed him here but his friend had wished to accompany him to his prince and then to the dawn.
Leir watched as the Carpathian that he had always seen as a brother looked at the sky then the area around them as he waited for the Second in command to greet them. Leir had let Lex think that he was only accompanying them but he was tempted to follow him into the sun. No matter. That decision could wait for another day.

((Please note that this post wont be for all of my characters. I am only going to post for a few of them right now. I will post for the rest later today.))
Annila Dustine
Annila yawned as she woke up slowly even as the sun made its final fight against the intruding night. The few rays that still shot through the trees were weak in their efforts to shine upon the snow covered mountain town. Annila smiled because she knew that Blake wasnt going to be happy. He never seemed to be happy when she woke up before him. Like it was a personal insult to him or something. Annila let out a soft laugh as she swung her long dancer legs out of the bed. Despite the cold winter air that filled the room, she went through her daily exercise routine showing no reaction to the temperature. Ever since Blake had bitten, or done an exchange, or whatever he called it, the weather never seemed to bother Annila. Plus all of her senses seemed to be on overdrive. Even now she could hear her best friend, Dustine, in the room next door sniffling and coughing softly. Annila frowned at the sounds. The last thing she wanted was for Dustine to be sick after Annila had practically dragged her into the middle of nowhere. Maybe there was something that Blake could do to help. As she thought about her lifemate, Annila pressed a hand against the two tiny scars on her neck and looked into the mountains. Wake up sleepy bones. You have been gone to long. And I need to talk to you about something.
Dustine was pissed. For reasons that she still couldnt name, she was half way across the world, in some tiny town, and she was cold and sick. She should have just told Annila that Mr. tall dark and creepy could watch over her now and that she, Dustine, would be staying in New York with the familiar drunken butt-grabbing idiots. Ever since that guy had walked into Annila's life things had just gotten weird. Annila slept almost exclusively during the day now and Dustine couldnt remember the last time she had actually seen Annila eat something. But anytime Dustine actually tried to talk to her about it, Annila just insisted that everything was fine and "dont worry". Well fine, if that was how Annila wanted it, then Dustine would meet this stupid prince fellow and then she was on the next plane out of here. Obviously she wasnt really needed here any longer. Dustine tried to fight back the pain that thought brought with it. Annila was one of the few people that Dustine considered a friend and she didnt really want to say goodbye. But it seemed that she had worn out her welcome. The gig had been great while it lasted. But if there was on thing that life had taught Dustine it was that nothing good last forever. Sighing she reached for her cell and dialed the airline to book a flight out of here.

Blake
I have been awake for a while now, little one. I can't help it that you seem to like to sleep in. Blake said with a smile. He rose through the ground, clothed in jeans and a t-shirt, a black duster over his shoulders. He slowly walked towards the house his lifemate was currently residing in. Simply because I have not risen does not mean that I am not yet awake. He stopped outside of the one window that showed her room.

Lilly walked through the woods her feet covered in soft leather shoes and two of the wolves following her as she walked mentally rolling her eyes at her Blaine’s annoying ways. She was going to pick up some supplies to help the pack but it was not like she couldn’t defend herself she was the Beta after all but he had insisted. Some times that man got on her nerves but hey, they grew up together and eventually at some point she had gotten use to his overprotective nature. As she neared the town she turned around her mind reaching to the two males behind her since they could not enter town with her while she shopped. She checked her two knives on her sides and the revolver in the small of her back and pulled the shirt down making sure they were well hidden and began her decent downward into the town. Her long brown hair was blowing slightly around her as she entered the store keeping quiet while she found the medicines and bandages she may need. She walked softly drawing as little attention to herself as she possibly could while filling the basket and then another while trying to make sure she had everything because she still needed some food items that would hold up for a while.

Aeolus Keir Keinnan Gregori
Aeolus was annoyed and that annoyance amused him. After 1300 years of an emotionless grey existence, feeling anything was thrilling and amazing to Aeolus. A little over a week ago, Aeolus had found his lifemate, the one person in the world who could restore his emotions and colors. During a sweep of the London streets for the vampires that plagued the city streets, Aeolus had found Ki. The sun had already started to rise when Aeolus had found the other half of his soul and he was forced to ground. By the time he had risen the next night, she was gone. There had been no time for a blood exchange so Aeolus had spent the last week hunting for his love the old fashion way. This cat and mouse game that he had played with her across most of Europe was starting to get tiresome. But now finally he had chased her into his home. The mountains were he had laughed and played as a boy would were a fitting destination for him to finally wrangle in his wayward mate. As he reached out over the fragile threads that had formed between them, he was surprised to find fear. Not just fear but desperation and an over powering will to survive. The beast inside him roared with rage as he felt with her the arrow narrowly miss her. Even as his kin was swooping his lifemate away from danger and to the safety of the nearby town, Aeolus risked everything as he reached for his lifemate and whispered softly in her mind. Little one are you injured? Tell me what has caused you such distress so that I may remove it from this world.
Two large rust-red wolves moved through the forest at blinding speeds. They moved in perfect unison, from the thudding of their huge paws on the snow frozen ground to the heaving of their massive chests with each intake of breath. Racing towards their destination, the wolves avoided trees with last second corrections and split second movements. Finally, once they saw the lights of the small village, the wolves slowed and still moving, transformed back into their true forms. As Carpathians, the Calhoun brothers, Keir and Keinnan, were larger than most in their already physically intimidating race. With large powerful, metal wielder bodies, their increased sizes made them anything but approachable. With long strides they moved closer to the village pausing only slightly when they saw two men standing among the thinner trees at the outskirts of the village. With a look they instantly shared information before approaching slowly both on their guards for any chance of an attack. Keinnan, the older twin, spoke first, his voice deep and filled with the accent from years of living in the Welsh countryside. "Greetings brothers. Are you to meet Gregori, The Dark One, here as well??"
I have been awake for a while now, little one. I can't help it that you seem to like to sleep in. Simply because I have not risen does not mean that I am not yet awake. Annila squealed with delight as Blake appeared out on her balcony. Throwing open the door, she threw herself into his strong powerful arms before leaning her head back to look at him. Frowning slightly she ran her fingertips over his face, as if she expected to find something wrong. Worry filled her voice as she questioned him. "Why werent you here when I woke up? Ever since I met you, you have always been there when I open my eyes. Why not today? I dont like it so dont ever let it happen again. I get worried when you arent here."
((sorry it took so long. my muses just died. had to revive them.))

Lilly's eyes shifted something had pulled at her something she couldnt name she reached out to her two wolven brothers trying to move them from where she was sensing something dangerous. She moved to the counter keeping her head down as the gentleman rang up her purchases she handed him a large gunny sack and had him fill that instead of bags. She smiled looking up at him when he asked her if she needed help toting the large bag, "No thank you sir..." she replied as she handed him the money and took her bag back from him tossing it over her shoulder as she walked out the door.
Her eyes scanned the area she couldnt pinpoint that feeling of danger and it was bugging her. She tried to keep mostly to the shadows of the buildings her long hair hiding her face from those who did spot her. While she walked she was trying to find the source of her discomfort and yet that same haziness would not allow her to get an exact location. She finally shrugged it off emerging from the shadows to start her walk up along the path toward the woods.
