A soft smile came to Willowroot's features as the sun played across her pelt in soft patterns. It was one of her favorite parts of living in the forest, the way the leaves and the sun played together. The chill on the wind, though, told her that her beautiful leaves didn't have much longer. Many of them had already fallen to cover the earth below her feet, and she thanked them for enriching the soil for next year's trees to grow. At least she would always have the needles of the evergreens to protect her from the rain and snow during the day. The changing of the seasons was necessary, she knew, but she it did always sadden her when her beautiful leaves fell and left the branches bare and fragile. Change always had to happen though, which brought back the thought she had earlier in the day. A new scent had met her nose as she was walking the forest, and she was rather curious to what Saighneian had ventured into the Dark Forest, since so many of them feared the power of the woods. Rising to her feet once more from the bed of leaves she had been resting on, the brown female set out in search of the new face, not entirely sure of what she would find and not worrying about it.

Kael smiled softly tending to the few remaining flowers. Leafs gently fell atop them and Kael brushed them away then placing them at the base of the flowers to keep the roots warm. "I'll see you again next year." he smiled softly at the flowers before starting away to check on the next meadow. Kael smiled up at the large trees. Their leaves were beautiful as they fell, though Kael had to admit he still felt sad to see them dissapear for the winter. It was too bad the trees couldn't keep their leaves like pines.
His ears perked as he heard foot falls from another.. "Hello?" he called out scanning the forest.

Willowroot smiled to herself as the sound of a low voice met her ears. She had found the newcomer, who was apparently male. Though the brown female very much enjoyed the company of the great tree, she was always interested in other Saighneian who were drawn to the woods. Too many regarded her home with fear, which she had never understood. Answering the male's questioning greeting with her own call, "Hello there," Willow broke through the last of the brush that was obscuring her vision and was met with a brightly colored male, who had adorned himself with flowers. She had never stumbled across this small glade in the forest before, but the forest was ever changing and she was quite content with such little surprises. She hadn't thought any flowers were still blooming at this time of year, but apparently there were a few late bloomers yet. "Those flowers are quite lovely. Do they normally bloom so late in the year?"

Kael gave the femme a low gentlemanly bow as she came through the bushes. Kael noted she was looking at the meadow's flowers. "I tend to all the flowers I can trying to prolong their beauty through the Autumn." Kael explained then shook his head sorrowfully "Unfortunately they normally don't bloom this long." It always saddened him to see winter approach, everything wilted and died the beautiful colors that they had were lost.
"Pardon me I have yet to introduce myself," He said clearing his throat "I am Kael, caretaker of the forest flowers though I take care of more than just flowers." he smiled back at her "May I ask you name?" he asked courteously.

Willowroot nodded happily, "Well you are doing a wonderful job and it is a noble effort!" She bobbed her head in response to his introduction, a slight blush coloring her cheeks at his formality, "It is always excellent to meet another caretaker of the forest. I am Willowroot, and the trees are the plants that I love the most in the forest, thought most of them don't need my help to grow." She winked at the swaying boughs around the pair of Saigh. Her soft eyes then looked back at Kael, noticing the slightly sad expression he had made at the mention of the season, "Why are you saddened at the coming of winter? The earth must sleep sometimes you know," there was a slight edge of mirth in the female's low voice, though she did her best to keep a concerned expression on her face. She knew that some flowers only lived for the summer, and, unlike her trees, couldn't survive the cold of winter, and it certainly saddened her when she found one of her trees was dying for one reason or another; she couldn't imagine experiencing that sadness every winter....
