The fluorescent ice-blue, the minimalistic number of counters and that single, steel chair. In fact, it looked like even the cushion was exactly the same. Very good, he'd thought, I like tradition. before the sharp annoyed tone of the bunny had drawn his head out, akin to a cat emerging from an adjacent LOL. " Actually, they're not. It isn't time yet." Indeed; he hadn't prepared his tools yet.

Another Hyte appeared in the corridor outside of the lab a moment later, blinking sleepily and rubbing an eye. What a surprise - the dormouse Wonderlander had actually managed to get up for something! Then again, what he was there for wasn't exactly unimportant. The note he had read said that Yorick would be getting his stitches out, so he had to come. Clement had to show his friend and fellow Wonderlander support and care. That's what friends did, after all.
"Mmm...morni--.." Clement murmured, about to greet Julien before a giant yawn escaped him, "Mornin'. Isn't it a bit early to get--.." Another yawn. "To get stitches out?"

Must...not...take it out on innocents! Julien struggled with his emotions as the Dormouse wandered along right after the steel doors had slid shut in his face. Pasting on a bright smile, he replied, "Never too early to get stitches out!" The smile faltered a little as Clement's nearly-comatose state dawned on him: "Would you...uh...would you like a...chair while you wait?" He didn't think he could quite move a bed.

A chair? A chair would be nice, though the mouse couldn't promise for sure whether or not he'd be able to stay awake once he sat down in it. Clement gave Julien a nod of his head and a tired grin. "..Yes, please. Though, I do miss my teapot. Perhaps I'll find a way to bring it next time...Teapots are more comfortable than chairs, you know." Yes, a chair to sit in would do just nicely. That way, the teenage Hyte could sit and wait for the rest of his friends to arrive.

When Elda had received the news, she had been both delighted and terrified for the Jabberwock, knowing full-well how touchy he was over his stitches. After a night of sleepless worry and a morning of unorganized preparation ("You're going in your slippers?" "Oh, drat!" "Don't forget your purse!"), Elda had - by the grace of the powers that be! - made it, looking just a little worse for wear. And by a little, it was really more like it was a miracle she had managed to dress herself in the first place.
"Am I late?" she asked breathlessly, tripping over her own feet in her haste to make it down the corridor. Julien's appearance - in a lovely little nurse's cap, no less! - was cause enough for her to stop and straighten up. It took a her a moment to look away (white rabbit, white rabbit!), instead focusing on the Dormouse; his presence assuaged the flamingo's nervousness more than a stroke across her wings.
"Well, at least someone made use of the sleep I lost!" Elda smiled, dropping her hands.

Although he seemed like he'd fall back asleep any minute just a few moments earlier, the sound of the Flamingo's voice seemed to perk him right up. Clement flicked a wave to Elda, and then motioned her over to join him. So, she had gotten the message, too! That was good because Yorick was going to need all of the help and support he could get. Poor Jabberwock - he was so sensitive when it came to his stitches - not to mention terrified when it came to sharp things.
"Elda," Clement said as he sunk into the chair the rabbit hyte had provided for him, "you worry too much. Yorick will be fine. Come sit by me."

She immediately gravitated towards Clement and took a seat on the arm of his chair, nails pinching each pad of each finger. She tried to remain quiet, lips sucked into her mouth to keep her ideas at bay. Her wings fluttered periodically, twitched, really, in distress. But she could barely take it, and thus turned to Clement, hands folding and slapping into her lap.
"Oh, Clemmy, I can't help it! The stitches are on his neck and he's ever-so-sensitive about them, and what if they use something sharp to take them out? And you know how Yorick just doesn't like sharp things, I wouldn't doubt if he could barely handle a butter knife let alone a real one or whatevertheyuse! Oh-oh! Clemmy, what if they take them out and his head! falls off?!" she babbled, tears springing to her eyes and hands going to her cheeks.
Wouldn't she be just dandy as a moral supporter?

Elda had every right to worry, the Dormouse thought, but he didn't see why she was starting to cry. Yorick would be in good hands. The people in the lab would take care of him, so it wasn't like they would never see their friend again. No...he would be just fine. Clement was sure of it. If anything, the most they would have to do would be to use a sedative to calm the Jabberwock down. As he thought about sedatives, perhaps the Flamingo could use one, too. Just to be sure.
"Mmm...I don't think his.." he whispered, fighting back a yawn, "...head will fall off. He'll be in good hands, Elda. The best hands there are. He'll be just fine..you just gotta...stay positive."
