Appearance Description
Tamar is small for her age in both height and weight with lean muscle. Her eyes are steel grey and her hair is very dark brown and kept in a wispy messy ponytail. She has a small mouth, which is usually in a mischievous twisted smile. Her skin is slightly tanned, with many scars running up and down her bare body, looking as if someone had taken several knives to her when she was younger and a prominent slash scarred across her right cheek. She wears simple clothing, usually a green tank top and shorts over the light mesh armor generally worn by shinobi and green ninja sandals. She plans on wearing her headband, once earned, on her forehead. She usually carries around a white war hammer and a series of throwing knives.
Personality
Tamar is a bit aloof and proud when she first meets people, often sizing them before opening up to them. Once she does deem a person worthy of her attention, she is often slightly bossy and prone to be aggressive. On the rare occasion that she fully trusts anyone she will let her gentler side come through, which brings her out as a very loyal and protective friend.
Despite the strict discipline of her clan, she has a very interesting mischievous streak, often resulting with her getting into trouble with the elders of her village.
History
Tamar was born on one of the minor leviathans and raised as a daughter of the Staal, learning discipline and combat while most other children played games. She inherited her bloodline from her father, Zitar Staal. Her mother, Sonja was another child of the leviathan, but not one of the major clan members and never became anyone noticeable until she had Tamar's elder brothers, Pietor and Dmitri, both twins and Tamar's elders by two years.
Often when the three were young they would pass the time practicing their fighting skills against each other and other Staal clan mates in knife fights. As a result of this, Tamar received several scars up and down her body, the most prominent being a slash on her right cheek, earned from Pietor in the first fight she actually won. She is very proud of these scars.
One of the more noticeable distinctions of her particular family is that the two elder boys and Tamar are not as serious as the rest of the Staal clan. The three have gotten into trouble numerous times because of pranks. The Elders hope that their days at the academy and later becoming proud warriors will chisel away the unwanted traits.
On her entrance to the Academy, Tamar received from her father a war hammer that had been in the family for generations.
