i feel like a failure
this morning i woke up and said
"today is the first day of my weight loss mission"
but tonight i ate so much pasta..and i had i slice of pie
and now i feel like i can't do it

The most important thing is not to give up!

One bad day is pretty inconsequential when it comes to weight loss. No one ever gained 50 lbs from one day of overeating. It's only when you overeat every single day that you gain a lot of weight.

SO! You just have to keep going and persevere! So what if you have one bad day? Just do better tomorrow! And even if you mess up tomorrow, or even the next week, month, year, or whatever, it's NEVER too late to get back on track. 3nodding

Also, I find that a good way to compensate for eating too much is to do some extra cardio exercise later that day or the day after. Just don't do it too soon after you overeat or you'll probably get sick xd

(I recommend starting a journal in the journals subforum 'cause it's really good motivation to eat right and exercise 3nodding )

Don't give up, you can do it! You can't gain 20 pounds or more in one day, you'll only gain that much if you overeat everyday. Just remember what your goal is and I'm sure you'll work hard to achieve it! =]

The saying goes, if you're climbing stairs and you miss a step, or even if you miss a lot of steps, there's no reason to throw yourself down the stairwell. Just pause and eventually get back and go.

When you realize that you're not in line with your goals, even if you're in mid bite, stop and let that be your healthy realization to begin anew, never wait for the next morning.

i agree with the others. use this as a learning opportunity- why did you eat it? were you bored? just because it was there and you should? what will you do next time you are in that situation? the early days in your journey are all about trial and error, learning what works for you, what your triggers are, how you're going to tackle them 3nodding so dont give up!

Try to do more gradual things. Like skip desert next time you eat dinner. Just remember don't give up. Like someone else said one bad day won't do to much damage.
