Macha waited in the undergrowth surrounding HanGeng's den in anticipation. She was crouched low and on the bottom side of the small clearing about the mouth of the den, so she was up wind, hoping the beta male would take the most direct route to his den after a day of fore filling duties, eager for the warmth of his den, than come up behind her.
She was growing rapidly now each day and she was blossoming into a attractive wolf, though she would never of noticed this of herself and would deny any knowledge of such things if it was pointed out to her. She was still naïve to the ways of male and female attraction, even with Reaction's tender and carefully tuition of such things. She was far to interested in her studies, of hunting and herbalism to focus on such things.
Her target broke into the clearing and made for his den. She had been lucky and he had not noticed, nor scented her, he had trained her well. Bursting from her hiding spot she leapt at the male whom was still a lot larger than her, but she brought him down, the element of surprise working in her favour. She sank her teeth into the flesh about his neck and hurled all her weight over his back, keeping a deathly grip with her teeth, she flipped him over herself and then quickly;y, once he was down, released the flesh from her mouth and jumped on top of the grey male, pinning him in place by placing her forelegs each side of his shoulders.
She smiled down at him and then playfully gave him a long draw out lick from the base of his neck to his ear and laughed. 'Hello, old man.' Her smile broaden and twisted her neck to try and look at the feathers on her back and then back down at HanGeng beneath her. She wiggled her shoulders, causing the crow feathers to ruffle and she laughed, pleased with herself. 'Madhuri helped me find the straps, don't they look pretty?'

HanGeng had been too busy thinking to catch any hint of the female being around. The moment she pounced, he was taken by complete suprise and felt his body hit the ground. A small growl left him, but it wasn't one of true anger. He was very proud of his warrior, she was a quick learner who obviously practiced her training enough for it to be successful. He wouldn't have to worry about her defending herself these days, though as her teacher, he probably always would.
"Watch who you're calling old man." He laughed a little as he kicked a leg up at her, not really putting any effort into getting her off of himself. She wasn't very heavy, so it wasn't that uncomfortable.
As he saw the feathers and her new straps, he grinned brighter. "A good addition to your beauty, Young Warrior. But you must not let such things get in the way of your attacks. Use nothing that holds you back." He gave a nod to show that his mind was still on her training, though he had to grin at the way they acted together.

A snarl rang through the lands unlike anything a calm wolf would dare let their bodies make. Haku was more than upset at the goings on, and as the Alpha, he would not hold back his anger. Strong legs took him to where the two were, his eyes narrowing as he felt his hackles raise almost viciously. His heart was twisting inside his chest, as though he was being stabbed violently by something.
"This does not look like any sort of training that I have ever seen, HanGeng." He snapped to the Beta male. It was more than rare to ever see the Alpha so upset about anything. Normally he was a very happy, pleasent wolf. Something in his heart was making him act out, and he wasn't able to even stop himself to think about what he was doing.
"Your training is finished. You two will focus on your -real- duties, rather than playing around like love birds. It's time for you to get your own life and stand up and be strong by yourself."

Macha stared down at HanGeng, her eyes widening at the mention of beauty and a small characteristic frown formed on her brow, she opened her mouth to reply though the words never came. Haku broke through the undergrowth following the sound of a viscous snarl and she stood shook still, still over HanGeng, then rage filled her and she stared flintingly at the alpha male. HanGeng's hind paws were still underneath her from his weak attempt to push her off only moments ago. She swung her hind leg over the top of his and took a step towards the alpha, endless black eyes piercing his.
Macha was unaware of the reason for this outrageous show of rage, she was blissfully unaware of Haku's feelings for her. Also, even with HanGeng and Reaction's training she was still bold and brass as when Haku had first found her as a pup but now she did not have to look up so much to hold the alpha's stare and she snarled a reasoned reply at the alpha, 'My training is finished, is it?' She spat at him, 'Then tell me, how would you be the judge of that; I have barely seen you since you dumped me in HanGeng's care as a pup, he was the one who cared for me, trained me and placed me in Reaction's care. Where were you, Haku.' She could not hold her tongue now she had began and carried on, 'HanGeng has trained me diligently, as has Reaction and I do not like the way you are talking to someone who does nothing but try his best to for fill his duties as best he can. Is he not allowed a moment of play after a day of work and the same for myself for Reaction has had me hunting herbs for her all day.'
She took a step further and craned her neck now to look up at him but within those endless eyes were the sparks of passion and love for those within the pack that had helped her, that had cared for her. 'As for being strong, I am strong and I do not like the idea that you doubt that. That you think it's only in the company of HanGeng that I am strong.' She narrowed her eyes but continued to stare straight up at her alpha.
The pup he had brought here some weeks ago had indeed grown, HanGeng and Reaction both had parts to play in this but also she herself, through her obedience and dedication to her lessons which she attacked with ferocious passion and love of knowledge. She stood now in front of her alpha, perhaps still smaller, younger and a little naïve compared to him but still she herself, in the time they had been apart, had grown and strengthened.

Haku felt his body shake a little with anger, displeased that the female had the guts to look him in the eye and snap back at him. He was the Alpha. He wasn't going to take this from a adolencent female--no matter how much he liked her. His voice held nothing but anger, his eyes burning with a new flame that he had not shown in a -very- long time.
"You dare speak to me that way?" Came his booming reply, ears flicking wickedly as his lips curled back to show sharpened fangs. His anger was building to almost an unspeakable level, no one had seen him this upset since Lera accused him of being a murder. No one else had the power to pull at his heart strings like Lera did. Until now. It was most concerning, and he would have worried more about these feelings had he been dealing with a level head. But he was not.
"You ungrateful pup." Haku snarled wildly. "I saved you and took you into my pack. My territory. I placed you with someone who could dedicate their time to training you. Asked my dearest friend to train you in the way of healing. I pulled my strings to make -your- life better. None of that was to benfit me at all."
He noticed that HanGeng was remaining silent, obviously wanting to see if Macha could truly handle the Alpha the way she was attempting to. Haku would deal with the silver dragon later.
"If you're so strong, then find a way to be it without constantly being under the Dragon's wing. Find your own strength and stop depending on other people to appear strong." He snapped his jaws wildly, untamed snarls leaving him every few moments. He would not let a female put him in his place.
"Do not speak to me in such a tone, Macha. I am the Alpha of these lands and you will respect that."

Macha stood, deadly still and stared definitely back at the alpha. She absorbed every word he snarled and barked at her and she formed her reply, HanGeng had trained her well for now in the heat of a battle, of the mind or physical, she was able to focus and plan her attacks with thought. ‘You, YOU saved me? I was quite happy with my rabbit I had killed that day, I did not asked to be rescued, nor did I need it. I was an adept hunter even then and should I have thought I needed aid I would have hunted it down as I do with all my prey. You were the one that had made me the offer, you were the one that grabbed me by the scruff of my neck and dumped me within your territory.’ She glared up at him, fighting fire with fire, Macha was passionate and even though she would have been out of her depth in a physical fight with Haku she’d give him her best shot in a mental on.
‘Neither was it you that asked Reaction to train me in healing. No, it was HanGeng that prompted me to seek her out, it was off my own back that I asked her to take me in and it was her that offered to train me.’ Her hackles were raised, just as when they had first met when she had been guarding her kill. Her voice came at a growl now, her lips curling now as they had done then, but it was not a kill she was protecting now, it was herself and that she would fight longer and harder for. ‘I am not constantly under HanGeng’s wing, as you put it. As I said, both he and I have been working all day fore filling our duties; mine as a pupil and his as the beta male, are we not untitled to a moments play, a moments rest? Or did you miss that question I asked just a moment ago, blinded by your unreasonable temper?’
She took a step closer her eyes like daggers, she could not get any closer to him, or she’d not be able to hold his stare and neither did she want to be that close to him in his current state, for it was not wise. Finally she added, ‘Perhaps you are the alpha of these lands, but I will give respect once it has been earnt, not because you demand it. For if you do I’d consider you a tyrant and I will not be in any pack ruled by tyranny.’

HanGeng was not stupid. He knew the situation was slowly getting dangerous and the last thing he wanted was for Macha to get either banished or hurt. He moved forward, putting his body between Macha and Haku and staring straight into the Alpha's eyes.
"I apologize for upsetting you, Haku. We did not intend to do such. Please let me make it up to you by taking on the boarder responsiblities for the next week." He bowed his head a little, showing respect for the Alpha and trying to soothe him.
Haku snarled, but moved away from the two and stormed back to his den, and HanGeng was glad to have the other out of his furr. He then turned to the female, giving her a small nudge. "Always a trouble maker, aren't you? Don't go toe to toe with an Alpha, Macha. He could kick you out at any moment. It would be impossible for me to train you at that point."

Macha continued to stare at Haku with heated eyes even with HanGeng now standing between them. Neither did her temper subside with his leaving instead it turned upon HanGeng. 'Why did you do that, offer to do the boarder patrols, you take on enough work at the moment. Haku was in the wrong, both of us were entitled to a little play at the end of the day.' She lost sight of Haku and her eyes now flashed dangerously at HanGeng and she continued her attack on him, 'I am not a trouble maker, I am part of this pack and I am entitled to my opinion and I don't like being spoken to like that, he may be alpha but he's a tyrant if he thinks he can just rule me like that, I will not have it.' She stressed it again, 'I will not have it.'
Though as HanGeng's last sentence was absorbed her hackles lowered, she slumped from her tensed position and her eyes softened slightly but now a small frown appeared on her brow and then it disappeared as she playfully provoked him in sulky tones, 'Don't you like playing with me?' a dangerous glimmer entered her eyes but as always with her her thoughts quickly drifted to another subject matter and she blurted out, 'I can't understand why he would be that mad though, we were only playing...'

HanGeng gave a sigh when he heard the female grow anger with him. "You are too young to understand the ways of the heart, Macha." He scolded, not about to let her get away with snapping at him. "You are but a young wolf that has a fire too strong for her." He glanced in the direction that Haku had gone, his knowing eyes taking in the situation.
"The best part of my days are playing with you, Young Warrior. It is the perfect way to relieve stress and have a bit of fun. Haku.. he understands this, but he understands much more as well."
He tilted his head as he moved forward, giving a soft lick to the top of her head. "Haku has always been protective of you, though your eyes have no been able to see this. No other female has been able to rile him up the way you do. He has confided in me that long ago he had a mate that he trusted, but she betrayed him. Ever since then, he treats all females the same and lets no on near his heart."
He smiled then, "And yet you are able to rile him up, and he dislikes when you wrestle with me, how much time we spend together.. Do you understand what this means?"

Everything that HanGeng said before the final question only annoyed Macha and it was only an internal struggle that kept her anger from flaring once again and smiting her friend with it. She was fiery, spunky and often she could not control herself but that was what made her, her and she did not like being told off by someone she held so dear to her. The fact that he had pointed out that Haku knew so much more to her only pointed out her naivety to her and she did not like that.
Macha's eyes flared with these thoughts until she managed to fight them down, trying to reason as HanGeng had always taught her. She bowed her head now, hanging it in defeat. She kicked the ground beneath her left fore paw, her dominant side, in a sulky sort of manner before she told herself off, she was not a child any more and she shouldn't sulk like this. She raised her head to HanGeng's smile and she frowned. Reaction had attempted to explain the complex relationships between males and females but even now the understanding of the relationship was elusive to Macha, so focused on her studies she never made time to think about matters of the heart.
From the evidence HanGeng had pointed out though and after several moments thought, Macha almost gasped at her own conclusion. She stared at HanGeng wide eyed and searching his own dark eyes for another answer but slowly she let the words slip from her maw, 'Haku is jealous? He has feelings for me?' She stared at HanGeng, her eyes full of hope as she wanted him to clarify this and more to the point, explain.

HanGeng smiled as he heard the words that the female spoke, giving a few nods of his head. "Such a thing is a burden for him, Young Warrior." A soft sigh left him then. "He has confided his past with me, and I think it's time you learn of it."
He gave a distant look as he started, "Haku once had a pack here, as I'm sure you know. He had a mate that he cared very much for. They had a litter together. A pup stalked their pack just as they found out she was pregnant. The pup had been banished many times and warned, now he was leading a large evil wolf that Haku saw as an enemy. The pup was killed by Haku's Betas, Gaara and Lexi, by Haku's orders."
Another sigh left him. "Months later his mate called him a murder and left him alone here on these lands." He looked over towards the den. "After that, he promised himself he would not let another female get under his skin, and yet.. He has fallen for you. I believe he is hesitant because you are young and don't show interest, but also because his heart is not what it once was."
HanGeng straighted his neck and lifted his head fully. "Macha, I believe you were guided here by the spirits to be the one that heals Haku and stands by his side as the Alpha of this pack. Would you want to do such a thing?"

Nothing like breaking the news, Macha, for once in her life, didn’t know what to say or do. The usually strongly opinionated and spunky female stood shook still her eyes wide and her jaw lose, not hanging open in amazement physically but she sure felt like it was. Her month twitched several times but no words came, not because she couldn’t get them out, simply because she did not know how to respond to what HanGeng had said. She blinked and sucked in a large lungful of air and then, ‘But Haku and I have never spent any time together since he first grabbed me by the scruff of my neck, how can he… Have feelings for me?’ Even if Haku had been receiving reports from Reaction and HanGeng about how her training had been going, how could he truly know her to like her in such a fashion and more to the point, ‘HanGeng, how can I possibly feel anything for him in such a way, I don’t know him, he is my alpha and that’s all I know of him.’
She stood staring at HangGeng, the male whom she had spent most of her time with and she searched vainly for answers in his eyes and not finding any she despaired, his words echoing in her mind ‘I believe you were guided here by the spirits to be the one that heals Haku.’ ‘I don’t know anything on this matter, I know nothing of the heart, I can not understand it nor have I ever given it any thought. Is it a duty I must do within the pack, fall in love with Haku, heal him?’
Still young, still naive but more than that she just had no understanding of any sort of connection to any other wolf, not in that manner at least. Sure she liked HanGeng, they were good friends and they’d spent a lot of time together, the wrestling and play fighting may appear as flirting to an outsider but she did not see it that way, nor did she understand how others may perceive it.
She continued to stare at HanGeng waiting for an answer or in the least enough direction that she could act upon it. ‘Shall I go and speak to him about it?’ Macha did not have the decorum to deal with such a conversation with Haku, she just wouldn’t know how to go about it without getting herself into more trouble plus she certainly wasn’t going to apologise for what she just said to him some moments ago, nor standing up to him for she still believed she was right.

HanGeng struggled with his own words for a moment. It was so hard to explain to her what was happening through the years.. The things she could not understand. It made him shake his head a little. "No, Macha. It is not a duty.. Nor is it something you will be forced to do."
He had assumed that the female looked up to Haku--really liked him, and that would have made things easier. But she was still a bit naive in the world of the heart. He didn't want to see as though it was something she would be forced to do for the rest of her life, more that he had been hopeful it was something she would want. This definatly made things more complicated.
"I do not think you should speak with him until both of your minds clear. But.. when you do, you must realize that this is not something that Haku will easily admit to. With his past.. and the age difference, it is sure to make him rather hesistant. I think what would be best, Young Warrior, would be if you would go and think alone for a while. You must come up with thoughts and decisions.. No one else can or should make those for you." He moved to nudge her hind end a little with his nose.
"Find out what you want to do with your adulthood."

Macha simply stood there in front of her friend and tutor rather numb the only thing really knocking her out of her reverie was HanGeng's nose nudging into her hind end and causing her to stumble side ways, she stared up at him and for the first time she noted she did not have to look up as far as she had remembered from in the past. She was growing and now things were changing without her having really noticing it and at the mention of what she wanted as an adult she nearly scoffed. She barely knew what she want 5 minutes into the future let alone 5 months.
Black endless eye fixed onto stormy grey and she smiled gently, almost and automatic prompt for her good bye line, 'Perhaps your right HanGeng. I think I'll move out from Reaction and find my own den perhaps that'll give me more time also.' She focused on him, her gaze not as distant as it was and her smile warming, 'Good bye for now then.'
Perhaps he was right, perhaps she really did need to think about things, always studying Macha seemed to have lost track of everything else going on about her. She left her tutor behind her for now heading outwards towards the older denning area where she'd know she find a little more peace.
