Desiree kept her daughter close to her as she carefully threaded trough the mountain pass. The vertical walls of rock with vegetation scattered here and there, where it had broken trough the stone, were daunting. She was relieved when the end of it revealed itself. Kukiko was eager to storm into the valley but Desiree held her back, not knowing if someone was watching the valley's entrance or not. She didn't want some guard jumping out and scaring her daughter.

After standing there for a good few minuets, sniffing and listening, she continued forward, still not allowing the cub to leave her side. The dark blue female hoped they would find Frost quickly. It had taken them quite a while to find the valley and both of them were eager to sleep in the same den for more than one night.

Dark Ice had been happy to volunteer for an extra shift of guarding the entrance to the clan's valley, even though he had taken an extra shift only a few sunsets ago as well. He would have been up working on his training anyway, and he could only really trust himself with guarding the entrance. He only took breaks from the duty because Frost ordered him to eat and sleep, and he had to acknowledge that he couldn't properly protect his clan without at least some rest.... In any case, he took as many extra turns as he could without Frost noticing, and this day was no exception. Though there was rarely any actual trespassers, since the valley entrance was so hard to find to begin with, and the clan had no enemies that Dark knew of anymore, the male knew that he had to remain attentive, and thanks to countless days of meditation, he was able to remain still and sharp for as long as necessary.

His nose, as it should, scented the intruders long before he was able to find the dark female and cub with his eyes, but both methods of detection were apparently faster than the intruder's senses. Pausing for another moment or two to try to ascertain the motive of a mother and cub venturing into his clan's valley, Dark's nose was able to alert him to a strangely familiar tone to the cub's scent. That familiarity made one thing clear to Dark, that cub belonged in the clan. He couldn't be certain if the cub was a descendant from one of the lost members, or a descendant of one of the current members, but Brig'Kassrik blood flowed through that cub and so he had to bring her to Frost immediately. Bounding down from his perch with the startlingly quick reflexes his training had given him, the large male landed directly in front of the female and the cub, the fur on his back raised in order to make him appear even larger than he was. He had no idea why the adult female was here, but the cub needed to be brought into the clan, and that would be his goal, no matter what that meant he had to do. Part of protecting his clan was recovering all the lost members, and he had sworn to do just that. "Halt."

Desiree caught the male's scent only seconds before her landed right in front of her. Acting on instinct more than anything else, she stepped over Kukiko, so that the cub was under her. Her ears pulled back and she lowered her head as she bared her teeth at him, the fur on her neck rising. What a wonderful situation I've landed us in.

She was the intruder here, she knew that, but the way that male looked at her daughter, like he was ready to snatch her away, made her want to keep him as far away from the cub as possible. "I've come seeking the Brig'Kassrik clan." She said, sharp fangs still bared. There was something in the guy's scent, something that faintly reminded her of Frost. "Are you one of them?"

Pale blue eyes looked carefully at the adult female now. She knew where she was evidently, not just another idiot rogue stumbling across their territory, and she was obviously exceedingly protective of the cub, her daughter then. Narrowing his eyes, Dark Ice decided this wasn't a situation for him to solve, he would take her to Frost, that was the Protector's job after all.... And the female didn't look so dangerous, he was sure that if she did something stupid, Dark Ice and Frost together could easily dispose of the threat. Finally nodding shortly in response to her question, he moved fluidly to her side, remaining a step in front of her, but close enough that he could control her movements if she reacted oddly. "Come with me, you must meet with the Protector." Dark Ice was a bit short of words, but it wasn't his job to talk fancy, simply guard his clan, and that's what he was doing.

Desiree covered her fangs and said: "I'll take that as a yes." She wished she hadn't reacted they way she had, but ever since Frost had walked away with her boy she had become very protective of her daughter. It wasn't as bad when she had lived with the Shadowhills, but the journey trough the plains had put a real strain on her nerves. Sometimes she felt like a coiled spring.

The Protector, that sounded important. She hoped they weren't going to punish her for wandering into their valley. Anyway, she would go along with him quietly, she wasn't here to stir up trouble. "It's okay, sweetheart, let's go." She leaned down and nuzzled Kukiko. "Just stay close to me." She told her quietly, before straightening back up and following after the male.

Frost had just finished a lesson with his son and Falknir. The boys were progressing very well and he was proud of both of them. Even tough Blizzard could be very closed off and Falknir was still too shy, they put in a lot of effort and didn't complain if sometimes training stretched on longer than usual. He didn't think being a teacher would be easy but his students made the experience quite enjoyable.

He had sent the cubs off with Shaleir so she could get them something to eat and was now lounging in front of his den, resting before attending to his other duties. He planned to take the next shift so that Dark Ice could actually get some sleep. Tough the male's devotion to his duty was admirable Frost didn't want him to overwork himself, something Dark was obviously dead set on doing.

Dark Ice only spared a glance at the female as she spoke to her young one. At least she was coming peacefully, it made his job a bit easier in that case. On the short walk to the mouth of the Brig'Kassrik valley, Dark didn't speak at all, and didn't look at his traveling companions except for short glances to make sure they were behaving themselves and keeping up. Not one for conversation Dark.... As soon as they arrived at the mouth of the valley, the blue male breathed deep, his nostrils flaring, and caught his Protector's scent in the direction of his den. That probably meant he wasn't busy, and as long as he wasn't sleeping, Dark would soon be able to go back to his post.

Stopping a length away from Frost, who's eyes appeared to be open to the male's relief, Dark Ice waited for Frost to catch his scent and look in his direction. He didn't want to disturb his leader if he was in deep thought or otherwise preoccupied. Dark Ice was quite content with waiting as long as necessary, though he was slightly uncomfortable leaving his post unattended, but respect for his Protector was of the utmost importance to him. Hopefully Frost would notice him quickly though....
