Alike to the rest of the volcano, this is the midsection. Around here it's hot and incredibly dangerous. You want to watch out and should be wary of that hot yet delicious liquid running down and burning your feet off.
There's little of consequence here but a few caves, if when you go exploring a cave you can roll a ten sided dice. If you get a one you will find a route to the midsection of the inner volcano.
Otherwise it is another two posts to get to the tip.

Kaede struggled her way up the first slope of the tasty volcano, watching back fromt ime to time to see if the students and the head researcher are following. She felt that the responsibility of protecting the academy from the vicious devouring waffle substance was on her shoulders; however, it wasn't a burden to her. She, dedicated to the education of the young shinigami forces, would gladly give her life if needed to protect what generations of teachers had built.
Her feet deep in the soft dough, she cursed under her breath and hoped no one heard her. Fingers curling around the delicately carved hilt of her zanpakuto strapped on her back horizontally, she unsheated the wakizashi, and, stabbing it in the "ground", helped herself gain altitude faster. It was a short blade, of course, so it wasn't as effective as ski poles would be for example, but it did the trick whatsoever.

Ryoma caught up to Kaede shortly after they started up, he wasn't even close to being tired, but was getting rather annoyed that his feet could not properly grip the surface of the waffle volcano, this making him resort to using arm strength instead of leg strength, something he wasn't as prominent in. Oh well, guess I could use the work-out anyway.... He thought to himself, as he stopped for a second, looking down to see if the other student was close behind.

Caeles sped up the slopes, the umbrella and sword allowing him to traverse some of the steeper areas of the waffle volcano that the others had gone around. As he clambered up the waffled surface, The Head Researcher absently took an occasional bite out of the volcano's surface. Among all the foes he had fought before, this one certainly tasted the best.
After a few minutes of climbing, Caeles stopped at a small plateau to survey the area. From his position he could see a small cave off to one side, a steady stream of steaming molten syrup flowing out of it, and off to the right there was the climbing figures of Kaede and one of the students. After observing the other climbers for a moment, the Head Researcher turned to face the tunnel and slowly made his way towards it.

Lilyth slowly but steadily trapsed up the white squishy slopes. Her slipping and sinking feet began to annoy the tiny blond girl as it made her slow. Her annoyance was making her lose her breath faster so she stopped for a moment to look around at her surroundings and maybe find someway to make her faster or steadier. She looked to the teachers; one was using her weapon and the other was using both an umbrella and a sword. The umbrella confused her for a moment and she shook her head. She then looked at the other student and saw him using his upper body. None of this knowledge helped her, using weapons was good but all she had was her little dagger and she didn't have much for upper body strength. The small girl sighed deeply and began trapsing up the slopes of the valcano again, slowly making progress.

Kaede noticed the head researcher disappeared into one of the ominous-looking caverns cut deep into the slope, but continued her way uphill. He probably knew what he was doing, but she felt the duty to walk the path up. Quickly, she checked how the two students were doing. They seemed to be doing pretty well, climbing their way up enthusiastically. We're gonna make it, she told herself as she struggled her way uphill, past the abundant sweet-smelling rivers of syrup, and the soft mouth-watering slopes of waffle.
The temperatures were rising with height, and the syrup river flowing vivaciously past the climbers was now steaming hot, melting nearly everything in its way, bubbling over the light brown surface, the steam mixing with the unmistakable scent of freshly-baked waffles. If it weren't a threat to the academy, this would be considered a paradise. Kaede merely shook her head, partly at disbelief, partly at the surprising situation they have gotten themselves into, and contiued her way upwards.
