Asikari yawned as he headed through the southlands, he'd woken just before dawn to travel through the forest that bordered Ari's old lands.. well.. both of their land, now.. and the southlands. Ari said it wasn't good to go through it at night, and though this probably wasn't true Asi wasn't about to try and test that theory. His tail flicked as his coffee colored body ambled along, tongue hanging from a slightly parted mouth. He was hunting out in the southlands, even though in the Kusini lands hunting was very good.
He wasn't famaliar with the land there.. and he still felt awkward in the lands. So he figured he'd take a small trip into these lands.

Amari had taken a small detour on the trip home with Maawio to see if he could find any familiar faces. He had figured that once he had been officially declared a pridelander he wouldn't get to travel much anymore - if at all. He would miss his freedom more than anything, miss seeing new things, faces new and old.
Asikari had been dwelling in the adult's mind as he wandered alone, thinking back to how their friendship had been born. He was such a strange lion back then...well he still was, but Amari had noticed the change in his old friend, especially since he had become a father.
Ah to be a parent.
Amari would soon know how that felt! A purr started in his throat as he thought of Maawio and the life that was growing within her - or so he hoped. They would bring up cubs in the Pridelands and he would live out the rest of his days there, basking under the sun he loved so much.

Ah being a parent indeed, endless hours of stress and confusion with those few precious moments of 'doing a good job'. Which, seemed to not be happening at all, so Asi felt in Denahi's case. And in Syeira's and Tamu's, if he had any idea of what was going on in their little minds. But he did not, and the children were out of his mind right now. He needed to foccus on hunting, really.
His nose twitched at the air around him, mocha gaze flicking around the lands. Dammit why was it so hard to find even a zebra? Not really looking for 'lion' his eyes passed right over Amari! But as they traveled back he blinked, then smirked. 'the hell was he doin so far south?
A grin split his maw, but he restrained letting it be a full one. Of course he couldn't be acting cheery when seeing his pal.

Amari noticed Asi almost the same time as the other noticed him. The bulky male was never one for stealth, his path open and easy for anyone to see. He was also known for his ability to be loud when event called for such.
This was one of those times.
The rusty lion's eyes widened in surprise at seeing the other male lion in the vicinity and began at a speedy gait towards the other, roaring a greeting that almost made the ground tremble beneath his giant paws.
"Oi you! Don't tell me you were gonna walk right past without saying hello!" He yelled, increasing his pace once more.

Asi chuckled quietly to himself, heading toward Amari at a slightly quicker pace than he'd been traveling at before. He did not rush, however. "Aye, may be." Smirked he rolled his eyes. " 'oo wansa say 'ello ter some'un as loud as yeh annee'ow?" He chuckled and his tail flicked, gaze flicking over his friend to see his physical condition. Not too shabby, he saw.

"Me loud? I don't think so buddy." He slowed a little as he drew closer, coming to a halt before him, forepaws together and tail swishing from side to side. "So how is daddy?" He grinned, "life of parenthood treating you well? Or are you trying to escape from it?" Upon glancing around he saw no youngsters, maybe his old friend needed a break?

He huffed and snorted, one paw coming swiftly to bop him in the head, but not hard enough to harm in any manner. "I be 'untin." He murmered. "I do no wan' the tyke 'ere ter scare away annee thin' tha' moves." He gave a cheeky grin, sitting. "Eh.. I be.. alrigh', some odd things 'ave 'appened, bu' 'ow be yew?" His head tilted to the side, wondering if he should tell Amari about the.. pride or whatever it was going to be. Knowing Amari he thought the only result would be a whole lot of teasing.

"Fair enough." Amari grinned, reaching up to rub at the offended spot on his head, faking hurt. "You're always so mean to me Asi." His whimper was spoiled by a large grin however as he relaxed his posture and dipped his head to gaze around. "You're hunting?" He made a face, "that's the job for females...or atleast that's what I was taught." He rolled his eyes and shifted. "So how are the little devils? Causing trouble?" He flicked the strands of mane out of his eyes, "Maawio and me finally decided to try for a family of our own too." He sighed, "we're living in the Pridelands now."

He snorted. "Iffin I be so mean then ye'd go away, bu' yew do no be goin' away, eh?" He shrugged and stretched his front paws a little. "Ari an' I share 'unting duties. 'sides, it do lemme ge' away from the 'lil'devils." Headmitted, grinning. "Eh, i spose they be causin' as much trouble as e'er, though they do be ge'in bigger e'ery day... a family? Goo' luck with tha', 'ope yers no come out as lil' 'ellions." He chuckled, raising a brow. "Pridelands, eh? Dinnae yew wanted ter be parta a pride.." he trailed off, waiting for an explanation.

He chuckled, hoping that the cubs wouldn't cause too much trouble, he wasn't sure whether he'd be able to handle it. Maybe he'd be lucky and Maawio would only birth one or two, that'd suit him fine.
"Yeah...I didn't want to be part of a pride...still not sure it is what I want." He trailed off, sitting down with a small huff, "but Maawio wants to stay, her home is with that pride." He rolled his eyes, "I guess in time I'll learn to like it too, just means no more wandering I guess."
He shrugged his broad shoulders and gave Asi another curious look. "So how is that mate of yours anyway?"

"Aye, i be knowin' jus' 'ow yeh feel, I do no be wan'in ter join a pride meself..." He let himself trail off, unsure how to go about telling Amari that even though he did not want to be part of a pride he was soon to rule one!
But the lion provided him with the perfect opertunety. "Er, well I be unsure 'ow, I guess she be doin' okay bu'.. in a strange way. We be visitin' 'er ol' pride lands.. bu' no 'un is thurr.. er.. cept some old, batty lioness." He grinned, then frowned. "Turns out she do be wan'in ter stay an'... an' 'opes the pride flourishes again.." He hoped this got the point across.

"She fancies herself as a queen, eh?" Amari mused, jaw set in a crooked smile as he regarded Asi. By the looks of it the male wasn't too keen on the idea and Amari could understand why. His friend had always been a bit anti-social and being in a pride with a collection of others certainly didn't seem his type of thing.
"Trapped between yoru own desires and wanting what's best for your mate." He murmered, "I know that all too well. Yah never know, you might actually enjoy being in a pride after all." He tried to be optimistic.

He snorted and shrugged, sighing. "Aye, well wha'ever makes Ari 'appy do make me 'appy.." Wow, that was such a corny thing to say. His ears flattened a moment, but then flickered back atop his head. "Yew an' the lil' doll shoul' come an' visit once yer family be started..." He grinned, nudging Amari. "Could be fun." And could be a disaster, especially if Denahi was around.

Amari noticed how his friend flattened his ears and grinned, "Never thought little Asi would fall in love and start a family all of his own." He faked a dreamy look, "He's all grown up!" He backed up a little incase the other felt a need to try and hit him again and nodded, "I'm sure Maawio would love to visit, it'd do her good to see new places."

He growled slightly, brows coming down, eyes narrowing. "Shu'up." He said in an annoyed manner, shaking his head. "Pff an' yeh be actin' jus' the same way soon enough." He murmered, smirking. It would be amusing to see.
