I have always been overweight...

right now I am 5'7" and 170lbs...
but I am also sick and I have a lot of health problems and I recently gained 10lbs

I am never comfortable with my size.
people always tell me I look about 130lbs but I don't believe them.
I am starting to feel better, but I am still always uncomfortable.
I have a very solid body structure...I'm not jiggly
but I'm not my any means muscular either,
I am some weird hybrid lol.

I was friends with a guy online [not here] and he saw my sigpic and quite a few of my face...
things were going well and he would call me pet names and stuff, like sweetheart or beautiful karlee....
but when I showed him a picture of my whole body in a blue dress, he stopped being so nice. He wasn't mean, and we were still good friends, but it just...changed.

People always tell me to shut up when I say I'm fat but I really am overweight.
I was mercilessly bullied for being chubby throughout elementary and middle school.
And now, I have issues shopping because I get really frustrated because a lot of stuff I like doesn't fit.

Most of my weight is in my belly, and my thighs. otherwise, I feel like I would look normal weight.
I wear a size 9 or 11 jeans.

I also never feel pretty.
People tell me I am but I don't see it.

I am just writing this, I really don't want anybody to tell me that that's "average" or whatever, because I honestly hear it a lot and it doesnt make me feel better.

I just felt like sharing.

Edit: pix

This is the one I showed my friend...very unflattering haha

I know how sensitive a person can be about their weight, I too am really overweight, and until really recently, I was over the line and considered Obese. I am just telling you from one person to another, while you may be a bit bigger than what you want, but that does not mean you're not pretty, though everyone is there own worst critic... You may be bigger than you wish, but you are by no means ugly. you have a very pretty face, and while your body may not be your idea of perfect, it is still bad, in fact, that picture of you in the hoodie is very cute. Though I know how people trying to help can be, so I would not be shocked if you didn't care about this post, just thought I would speak my mind biggrin

You might not like another person telling you this, but you truly don't look 170lbs.

I've had problems with my looks as well, and been told I was ugly all the way into high school. All I can tell you is to ignore the bad comments, but try to consider the good ones! I think people aren't quite as honest when insulting someone, as they are when compimenting. I just realized that it was useless to tell myself I was ugly like everyone at school did, I just had to actually say what I really though about myself. I didn't like my hair. It was thigh-long. I cut it to th shoulders... And it changes a lot! It surrounds my face better now, and makes my eyes stand out a little, I think.

What I mean is, I believe it's a good thing to work or change towards what you actually want to look like. If you feel a bit overweight, then try to work out a little and change your diet if it isn't good for you. That can only trigger other good things! I think the hair cut makes a big difference in what you think about your face, as well. Feel free to go see a hair stylist to know what would fit your head shape, and maybe you'll find something great that will make you think better about yourself.

I believe people will act towards us as we do towards ourselves. Harsh on yourself and down? Then people most likely won't be so nice to you. I used to never smile except when with close friends, though that wasn't quite me. I'm the kind who always has a big smile on! I have no idea why, but eh. People started to act differently since I started smiling, and that's a great thing. In fact, I noticed that there are many guys who buy something at my convenience store that try to flirt or compliment.

If you want, I can include a picture of me, who used to always be laughed at and called ugly, and now considered rather attractive, although I haven't changed much at all. (:

Oh, and if it helps... Go to the hair stylist, make up, manicure, everything that pleases you, and then go for a professional photo shoot. I don't know how much they cost, but they know how to get the right side of you on pictures, unlike home ones which like to catch you with that awful look. And let me tell you, most people tend to see you like on those pictures where you look best, not worst.

P.S. I really liked your picture! I like your costume a lot. =P Great smile, and beautiful dress. (:

A close friend of mine (who is heavy, but has lot a bunch of weight and is sitll slimming down!) told me that she never shows full pictures of herself online or on dating sites, because one time she had a guy ask if she was fat because she chose not to have a full body picture as her display picture. She ususally doesn't even show her face either because she thinks she's ugly. sad

you truely, do not look like you weigh 170 pounds, you might not be the skinnist person, but it seems like you know how to dress (at least from what i've seen) to flatter your shape... my one fat-ish friend is skinner than 170 pound but she dresses so that it looks like she might be that fat... you look fine to me, ignore bad comments (:

To be wearing size 9 and 11 pants at your weight is very good because your weight is more evenly distributed, when I weighed 170lbs I wore size 16 pants at age 13 and 14. If you want to lose weight you'll have to try several changes in diet, exercise, ect.... But you really do look great in your pictures 3nodding

I understand that you are self conscious....However I must digress. You do not look CLOSE to 170...One forty AT MOST. I must say...
You ROCKED that dress, the view was certainly flattering, and it left me wondering if you were just kidding about being fat. I'm serious.
And with the sweater...The only reason it isn't as flattering is because it is baggy. You may wanna wear something not as loose. And damn. You ROCKED those jeans! Your legs did not look fat in any way. And I hope you know that I'm not sugarcoating anything. If that guy got..Oh turned off or whatever, he must be very picky, and not to mention SHALLOW.
Besides I think to find someone attractive you have to know their personality. THAT'S when the beauty begins to bloom.
I'm sorry, love, but you are a cutie. No denying it.

I have to add that I REALLY, REALLY like that blue dress of yours...It's so cute!! Plus that mask-- It looks so GOOD on you! I love your expression...
It makes me happy to see others happy....
I'm sorry but you just look really, really, pretty.

I get that too - I weigh about 140 - 150 (maybe a little more, I haven't weighed myself in a long time) and I can still squeeze into size 8 or 9 jeans when they're stretched out. I've had to go up to size 10 jeans now, which are still tight when they're new, but if I'm wearing jeans/other pants that fit then you'd never guess I was at the weight I am. I've had people tell me I don't look my weight at all, even though I think I'm fat.
