She was dozing in the shade of a small group of trees. Her paw was throbbing from overuse and Tsubame still was not closer to home. The day was clear but warm, with a bit of a breeze cooling those on the savanna, and Tsu was tired of walking. Maybe I should just call it a day? she thought as she slowly drifted towards sleep. Her last conscious thought was about Achal. Was he looking for her? Was he ok? Did he abandon her like ever one else in her life had?
Right before she slipped deeper into sleep she dreamed that the wind ruffling her fur was the spirit of her mother standing over her, Tsu's dream self cried out 'why did you leave me mother?'. She never spoke just looked at her before fading away. Tsu didn't stay 'awake' long enough to do more then cry out in her dream, 'why didn't you love me?' before sinking deep into sleep. The only sign of her emotional distress in her sleeping form was the occational wimper and twitch of her paws.

Achal was going looking for Tsu, he left her for a moment and when he came back she was no where to be found. They were suppose to be retrieving his cubs, but that had been delayed for the time being. Currently his main concern was finding Tsubame. She had been gone for way to long. They hadn't been apart for this long since they'd decided to travel together before they reached their pride. Achal frowned moving forward a frowned marring his face.
"Tsubame," he called loudly as he had been doing for several days. "Tsubame, where are you?"
He feared something bad had happened or worse. He shook his head trying to keep those thought from running across in worried mind. 'Tsu', he thought, 'come back to be Tsu.'

"...ame"
Something woke her from her sleep. As she surfaced from the inky blackness she heard, "...ame, where are you?". It seemed to be coming from a great distance away but even groggy she would recognize that voice anywhere, it was Achal. He was looking for her. He hadnt left her like her mother and any one else she had ever cared for.
"Achal?" She tryed to yell back with out geting up but even to her the call was not all that loud. So hoping that by siting up she would beable to call out louder she sat up right into a branch. Apparnently while Tsu was sleeping she had manuvered herself underneat a very low haning branch so when she sat up she wacked her head solidly on the branch. "Ouch. Stupid branch." She yelled, her voice carrying across the quiet savana.
Growing in pain as she saw stars she layed back down and did her best to make the pain go away. First she tried rubing the sore spot with her paw but that was just uncomferable and it didnt help any. Then she tried closing her eyes and breating deeply, it seemed to work so she continued to do that, it didnt take long for her exusted body to suck her back into sleep.

Achal look up and look around. He could have sworn he heard his name, but he wasn't sure where it had come from. His heart was racing knowing he was close to Tsu. He was just about to call out to her when again when he heard very clearly, what he knew to be Tsu voice. It sound a bit pained, but at least she was okay and he knew which direction to go.
"Tsu, I'm coming," he shouted charging forward. 'Please be okay,' he thought as he ran toward her voice.
Achal nearly charged right into a bush and was tempted to go around it, but he detected Tsu's scent. He began to sniff around the bush. It smelled just like her.
Finally he came an opening and climbed in under the bush. He looked around, it seemed to be old den just large enough to stand it. Then he spotted her, beneath a thick low hanging branch. "Tsu. Oh Tsu. There you are," he said softly.

Tsubame was dreaming that Achal had found her, it was so realistic that she could even hear him say her name. She slowly woke once more, her headache gone. When she saw Achal standing in the bush/den she closed her eyes again and mumbled, "Why am I still dreaming?" Squeezing her eyes shut tightly she then opened them suddenly but Achal was still standing there. Sunlight filtering through the screening branches of the large bush, dappling his mountain patterned fur. Muttering angrily under her breath she repeated the proses once more but he was still standing there. Giving up she sighted and rested her head against her paws, at least the dream would be a good one, she hoped.

Achal chuckled at Tsu response to him. She made him laugh and he was very happy to see her. His heart would have been broke if he'd lost her forever.
Achal moved to lay down in front of Tsu who had her head against her paws. "Tsubame, you being silly. You aren't dreaming. I've found you, at last. I was very worried. I've been looking for too long."
Achal nuzzled her gently. "Where have you been?"

Tsubame broke into a smile when dream Achal stretched out in front of her but the smile faded when his words sunk in. With a feeling of shock and pleasure she said, “It really is you. I can’t believe I finally found you after this long.” She shifted so she could still be laying down but could nuzzle his neck as well. “Oh I have missed you.”
When he asked where she had been she had to think a moment, did she really want to tell him everything? Probably not. With that in mind she started to tell her abbreviated tale, “Well after I got separated from you I decided to sleep in a tree for safety but it turns out being in trees isn’t that safe either,” she didn’t go into why, “so then I was wandering, looking for you” she skipped the part about meeting Maua “and eventually I ended up somewhere near the ocean, I could smell the salt water. Then I twisted my paw,” she held up her right front paw, it still had some of the leaves that Vast wrapped it in although most were gone. “The next day I sort of got into a fight with a leopard and got hurt. Then it was foggy for a few days before a nice lion helped me for about a week. I started to head west slowly since then.” She knew that she skipped the whole Vast thing and she wasn’t planning on ever telling him either. But feeling guilty she down and away from Achal as she half expected for him to tell that she was lying and call her out on it.
He listened patiently to the tale without speaking, though when ocean reached his ears and he looked rather confused.
‘Tsu had to have been very far away if she’d made it the ocean and back. Or maybe it wasn’t too far way’, he thought silently to himself. His thoughts were pushed away as Tsu showed him her wrapped paw.
Achal frowned looking at Tsubame’s healing paw. He pulled off the rest of the wrap to look over paw more closely. The cut looked as though it had been nasty, but was mostly mended. He wondered slightly with the journey they were on if Tsu would suffer some after effects for the long healing process, especially with the cubs to take care of. It was essentially why they had begun the journey in the first play. To retrieve Achal’s cubs and bring them back to the pride.
“It looks to be making a descent recovering. Is it hurting you?” Achal mostly did not absorb the tale. He was too focused on the fact that he had Tsu back with him and that her paw had been hurt.
Tsubame was a bit surprised when Achal didn’t seem to care about the little discrepancies and the large parts left out of her tale. She watched as he pulled the rest of her wrap off showing the healing scar, “Its fine for the most part, after a while on my paws it starts to hurt.” Her paw was the reason she was resting in the bush this early in the day. “Normally I just have to rest for a bit before continuing.”
As she was saying this she was thinking of the original reason they came out in the rouge lands, to pick up Achal’s cubs. “I’m sorry that I’m delaying us.”

Achal shook his head at the trouble Tsubame had gotten into in the time they had been apart, but remained grateful she was alive and mostly well. “If you paw hurts you when you are it for to long than we will have to rest often, but that is really no big deal.” He smiled at his love enjoying just being with her again, but shook his head at the words she spoke. “Its not your fault we are delayed and hardly an issue. Next time I shall endeavor to keep a better eye on you. It was good lesson to learn before bringing cubs home, wouldn't you say.”
Tsubame felt a swelling of love and pride for Achal as a tiny little voice in her head was saying smugly, 'He is mine!' She would do her best to not slow him down so they could go get his cubs and head back to the pride quickly. After all she found that while she enjoyed interacting with others she wasn't very fond of all the others she met, the orange leopard first in her mind in that case. When he mentioned keeping a closer eye on her Tsu couldn't help but blush a bit and look away sheepishly, she really had wandered away like a ill mannered cub rather then the adult she was. "Yes. I know that I have to be the adult when it comes to the cubs. No more wandering away for me. Promise." Taking her embarrassment in paw she quickly looked up at Achal and gave him a quick lick on the cheek before looking away all innocent like.
Achal laughed lightly we she said she wouldn't wander off realizing she thought he referred to her, but smiled none the less. “We both need to be more responible, though no one hardly expects you not to wander off from time to time, especially not when we are home. It is afterall safe there.” At the affectionate little lick Achal gave Tsu a soft nuzzle. “I love you my beybanu. You are perfect just as you are. I am so lucky to have you.” He looked at her smiling the whole time and grinned happily, before cuddling up close to her for some much needed rest.
Safe. That word meant a lot to Tsu right now and the fact that the pride was safe was one of the main reasons she wanted to head back as soon as possible but taking their time was not a issue since Achal made her feel safe as well. She smiled at the nuzzle and nuzzled him back as he said that he loved her. "And I you, my Pad, and I you." She licked his cheek one more time before snuggling up next to him, just glad to be back with the one lion who hadn't left her.
