Ok who is going to dress their pet dog up as a reindeer for christmas?
If you don't have a dog, what are you going to dress your pet up as?
If not what would you want to dress it up as?
Do you think it's cruel to dress pets up for celebrations?
Why?
Why not?

No way are we dressing up our dog. My cat would attack any bells, antlers, ornaments, etc. hanging from the costume. xd
I don't usually like dressing animals up. Some don't mind it, but others seem pretty upset at the concept when you look at their faces. If your dog has a "get me out of this thing" look, don't make it suffer.

I think it depends on the dog, really. My pup loves any sort of attention, so he'd prolly love it, but I never get around to dressing him up because I am a procrastonater.(sp?)

xd Yucky messes to clean up....
My dog, luckily, doesn't rip things up. If he gets into the trash, it's only because he's tall enough to stick his head over it standing on all fours. Even then, he just takes something interesting off the top. He doesn't knock it down or anything.
The biggest problem my dog has is he binges. Seriously. If you put dog food down, he'll eat it. Canned food down, he'll eat it. Dry cat food, sometimes he eats that, too. You have to limit how much food you give him, or he'll literally eat until he pukes. He's done it before. He also binges on water. He only drinks two or three times a day, but when he does, he drinks a LOT. We have to tell him to stop after a while, so he doesn't puke that up, too. These behaviors make sense, though. The shelter found him as a stray, which meant he was surviving for a while on his own. When a stray finds food or water, they eat/drink it as fast as possible. Old habits die hard, I guess.

The shelter said our dog's a golden retriever/yellow lab mix. Basically he's golden-retriever sized and colored with lab-length fur. No, way, you can't have him. biggrin Our doggy! He's staying in our family 'till he dies.
My dog wouldn't go running to the backyard. He hates being outside unless he's walking around with someone. I think it reminds him of his time as a stray. When the ground's wet, I have to hike at leaswt halfway out into the wet yard to coax him to follow me onto the wet grass. Even then, when I tell him to come, he'll sometimes run up to me and run back to the gate instead of actually going to the bathroom. "There, I came. Can we go inside?" I also have had to hike out with him in the snow, wind, and other bad weather, because he won't go by himself. This includes at 11:30 (or later) at night. Oh well. He's worth it. Chickening out in the backyard and shedding everywhere constantly is about as bad as he gets....

Again, the shelter guessed. They said about nine when we got him last year, but we think he might be older. He's got a gray muzzle and really bad legs (he's hurt them before just jumping down from our little car).

My dog wouldn't care, but we won't do it. The worse thing we do is put her coat/parka on when the snow and cold get that bad here -- and she still waddles like it's the strangest thing to have. We rather enjoy Christmas with her waltzing around in her birthday suit of fur. ^^
