Purple eyes watched from the distance as Kabu his own sister seemed to be enjoying herself. He had been watching her a lot lately looking after her cubs as well as his own....the ones that tore his chest open exposing his heart for all to see.
"Not mine....not mine." He whispered to himself as he closed his tired stressed eyes. He had been hunting long and hard for the killer. He was growing weak now from forgetting to make the simple necessities like food. He shook the thoughts away not allowing them to go any further and to think about his light tan beauty that had capture his heart. He turned his back to the family as he began to walk off slowly a heavy weight on his shoulders.
"Never mine." He whispered to himself as he watched his paws carry him away from the family he hadn't noticed he had done this so many times that the mud had captured his prints in coming to spy and leaving as well as if he was stalking but did he pay any mind to this fact no did he even make the connection someone might think he of all lions could be the killer.

Ila had bee under suspicion for being the killer for the time he joined the pride. Right after the murders; his colors made him prime suspect. He looked like a Firekin, he had all the right colors, but none of the heart. Even though he was new to this pride, he went off everyday in search of two lions. The killer, and his mate's brother. Kabu was stressing over her disappearing brother.
And for Ila, dumping cubs on someone else, without offering support and help, was wrong. He'd raised his cubs as much as he could; though it didn't help. He still had to flee, to make peace with everyone. His old mate, himself, the pride. He never had fit in there. But this new pride... It suited him. It made him feel more welcome.
Flicking his tail from side to side, Ila sighed heavily. He didn't like this. He wanted to hurt his mate's brother. It wasn't right. He wasn't acting like a man no matter what his excuse was.

Purple eyes looked around the area as he moved to the small swamp water pound the one where he had meet his Ukosa. He sat down starring into the water blankly. "They are all getting older Ukosa." He muttered softly as he pulled a flower from his mane and placed it in the water.
"There's one that looks like me-" He chuckled softly before continuing. "But she has your tan colors instead of my blue..." He said softly as he closed his eyes slowly.
"There's a boy even. I never thought I would be proud to have a son and yet to ashamed to meet him." He muttered out trying to choke down a few sobs.
"Oh Ukosa it hurts." He sobbed out letting the tears fall as he clasped into the mud and the shallow water.
"Its hurts not knowing that I thought we where safe here...where other were." He choked out though his sobs as he curled up into a ball slightly before he stood shaking away the mud a tears.
"I must go." He said firmly with a growl as he turned and began to seek out once more the demise of his lover.

A voice caught his attention, made him pause in step and he flicked his ears. He heard the name Ukosa. Wasn't that his mate's sister? Hm. He moved towards that voice, not sure who he would find. Something about cubs, it sounded like. Even more interesting.
Turning corner he stopped. It was a male who looked much like the cubs his mate had taken on, the ones he was helping raise. Was he related to them? "Hello?" He called just as the other growled out those final words. Ila was curious, he couldn't help it; what was all this about? He moved with the other and caught up with him, sighing softly. "What are you doing wandering around the pride so aimlessly?"

The male turned his attention to the other jerking his his motions slightly being caught off guard. He looked to the male thinking a moment trying to remember where he had seen him. Great his mind was slipping as well as attentiveness. He finally realized it as he looked down to his dark toe tipped colored paws before looking back to the male.
"Your him...then one that is with my sister." He spoke calmly now he was tired and hungry and over all still unhealthy. "I believe she told me about you before." He said as he began to laugh. "Your the one she wanted to be the father of her cubs but that wasn't possible at the time." He said with a small smile.
"Maybe that can be changed once they are fold." He said as he cursed now glaring around him he anted so desperately wanted this to end the pain and the not being able to understand why this tragedy had come to these lands. It was if he had cursed the land himself by coming here. Yes now it was all starting to make sense...maybe he was the reason.

"So I was right, you are her sister. Kabu's been looking everywhere for you. Why weren't you there for your cubs when they were presented? You have no idea how badly that hurt her." He wasn't going to yell, but there was a definite growl in his voice. Ila was not happy about that at all. Kabu was so upset, pissed with Unus, and there was nothing he could do about it. Even as her mate.
"You should be helping raise them. They need you. Especially the boy, he's having a hard time, and so is her own cubs. One of them, Dusan? Remember him? He thinks she doesn't love him anymore because she's taking care of the younger cubs. It's hard to split your attention and love eight different ways. Even for the both of us. I'm acting as their father." He loved them, yes, but it hardly left him time with his love and her own cubs. He only knew a couple of them by name, the rest... he didn't.

He said nothing as he looked to the sky looking to the trees before looking back to the male. "I can't go to them right now. She can understand that she should know better then to ask me back. She should realize on her own why I haven't come why I will not rest till I find out the truth." He growled out as he looked back to the male before taking a deep breath.
"I'll think about it though." He said as he looked to the male a moment smirking slowly. "An I'm sure you can handle it...a litter usually consists of six cubs you only have two extra cubs that nothing hard to handle. Beside I'm sure...my cubs would hate me for not being there for not protecting their mother. Even though I was not allowed to be with her I feel as though it was all my fault." He said as he looked back to the tree where he usually spent most of his time.
"Beside get the practice now for when you and Kabu have cubs." He said laughing softly thinking of the handful those cubs would be.

"I have cubs, you know. I know what they went through, what they're going through. I'm not there with my own litter... You should be with yours, even if you're trying to find whoever killed your mate," he said, feeling sorry for the guy. He couldn't comprehend what he was going through, but he did know something about leaving litters with others. "You should come back with me, take a couple days to eat right, to sleep... You look in the verge of death."
Kabu couldn't handle another family member dying, especially her own brother. He just wanted him to go see his sister, really, so she knew he was alive, at least. Ila couldn't say alive, because... the poor male didn't look very alive. "Just... come on.. Two days and you can go back to tracking. She wants to see you so much."

He couldn't open his mouth to speak to the male as his ear flattened against his ears his tall resting between his legs as he took a slow breath. He seemed to be struggling with what he was planning. He could say yes but then he would have to meet Kabu and get her yelling at him. He would also have to meet his children all of which reminded him of his Ukosa. He winced as he turned away from the male as he walked over to his tree as he stretched out down on the base.
"No I...I don't think I shall do that right now maybe later." He said with a nod as he took a deep breath closing his eyes as he rested his head on his paws as he looked off into the distance thinking. Sleep sounded good actually maybe he should get some. He then pulled slight away from the ground sitting up looking to the male once more.
"I just need to find them and then everything will be fine I'll come back I'll even help watch the other cubs they didn't seem to hard to handle when I first meet them."

A no. He sighed deeply and looked at the other male, growing extremely irritated with him. "Look, Unus. Go back and suffer a few harsh words, see the children YOU helped make, or suffer my anger. She is in pain because she's so worried about you. Your children ask about you all the time, and what do you do? Nothing. You mope, feel sorry for yourself, blame yourself. It is not your fault she died. The gods did this for a reason, and I doubt it was so you could abandoned your family.
"What would your mate what you to do? Not waste away acting like some stupid idiot while your sister makes up stories as to why you aren't there with them. You're a selfish p***k. I don't see how you ever had children." Yes, his words were harsh, but his patience was wearing thin. As it was, he couldn't stand Unus for abandoning family like that. At least Ila had a reason. He was hurting his own family by being there.
"Get off your a** and go to that den before I tear you apart."

The male stood glaring at him as he walked over rather quickly growling his eye centering as he pounce the man the two struggled a moment before Ila was knocked away but Unus didn't stop as he lunged at him once more biting down onto his ear. He tore into the ear a bit ripping it rather good before jumping off as he panted heavily before getting attacked by Ila's.
Unus how ever didn't fight the tears fell down his cheek but it wasn't from the pain from the bite to his shoulder ripping a good bit into the flesh. Unus hissed and growled kicking off the male as he got to his feet limping away from the male as he panted closing his eyes tightly.
"Say what every you like I'm done listening to you! I'm sure you have no idea about my history which allows you to believe you can say what you like bu I've had enough!" He roared before licked his wound just slightly before turning from the male.
"Go back...Go back to her and tell her you didn't see me if you know what's best."

He had roared in pain when his ear was ripped like that, and in fury, struck back. He tasted blood in his mouth, bits of flesh and fur on his teeth. This wasn't what he wanted to happen. He wanted to get him back to Kabu so she'd be relieved.
He watched the other male limp away as he felt blood matting his mane and dripping into his face. With a growl of frustration, he barked back: "I'm going to tell her you're alive. That way someone will be relieved of stress." It was the best thing to do.
With those final words, Ila moved towards his den, shaking his head, blood spattering everywhere.
