??? -> Dig Site
Archeological Dig SiteA location that is unmarked and unknown in relation to all the rest, there stands a Portal amidst an enormously vast crater. The crater is a place of varying soil, and a seemingly endless array of buried artifacts and fossils. The sky overhead is constantly changing, streaks of red and blue spider lightning across a heavy lining or deep purple clouds. There is no thunder, and a strange red glow fills the land from the sky above, nothing beyond the clouds can be seen. The ground beneath lets go to the occasional rumbling, as if something ancient were awakening below... Dig Site Location and threat of this area unknown

Tiana exited the portal and looked around, already noticing the significant temperature change. Blinking a few times, she looked at the site, smiling at the area, then noticing the strange color of the sky.

*The captain emerged from the portal and took a moment to breath in the crisp, warm air*
Ahhh... It's been some time since I've been somewhere that felt so good. Though the scenery might take some getting used to.

"I'll say...is that normal?" she asked, indicating the strange hue of the sky. "I mean, it's kinda pretty, but I'd hate to be breathing in something toxic."

Completely normal for this rock, or so has been so far confirmed of our research. What you see above you is an ongoing Aether storm. To the best of our knowledge, it encompasses the entire planet, and there's no sign of stoppage.

"Wow...at least it's pretty," she said, smiling a bit before turning back to the crater. "Alright, so we should get to work then, hmm?"

Mmm, plenty to do here. I'd almost think artifacts were burying themselves if I didn't know better.
*MK pulled out a knapsack that he had been lugging around and walked off in a seemingly random direction, slowly watching underfoot*

Tiana followed after him, also watching her steps as to not slip or damage anything. "You really think there's that much? So we'll likely find something today then?" she asked, excitement rising in her voice.

We probably could if we gave it a little dedication. The place is certainly quiet enough.
*He reached in for a pick and a brush, settling down nearby and beginning to chip away at some of the harder ground*

She knelt down next to him and after watching for a while, rummaged through his bag and pulled out some tools to use, then begin working on another relatively close area.

*The captain set to work on the hard earth, cracking at some unusually dense stone, dropping the occasional spark*
You know... this wasn't here before.

The surface soil had the consistency of clay, at best... but this... this is nearly hard as steel.
*He gave another swing, chipping the pick*
