Billy really wasn't a fan of the cold weather. He often cursed the fall and winter. Why? Well, it was really the only safe place for him to paint because of his medium - airbrushing. Inside was tricky. Not only did the fumes get to you, but it was messy. He was doing his best to not both a. get high, and b. get paint everywhere when he was working on Miss Johnson's backgrounds. For the most part he had succeeded, but now that his job was done, there wasn't any place where he could exercise his gift to its fullest ability. He could draw, certainly, but it wasn't the same. And like hell was he going to suffer the cold and end up pitifully sick! How many people had already died of 'bacterial meningitis' by now anyway?

Sigh.
Something odd was going on at this school.

Billy Roadinger wasn't someone Aggie knew well. They shared a few of the same classes, but beyond seeing him around in classrooms and passing by in the hall, they'd never really talked.

This was going to change. Because today, today Aggie was on a mission: Operation Make a New Friend, and he was the intended target.
Well, 'intended' might have been stretching it a bit - truthfully she was just walking by and saw him through an open doorway. Score! Target lock-on achieved, please move to phase 2.

She'd been wandering the school, still somewhat dreamy from actually having a boyfriend and had taken the opportunity to refine her map of the school. She'd had to make one herself, since the school administration still seemed to be procastinating on making one available to the general public, and it probably wasn't as good as it could've been (or even very legible), but she could understand what the different scribbles meant and since she was the only one who was going to read the thing, that was good enough for her.

Still, there were always a few problems, areas and rooms whose purpose she couldn't mark because it was either locked or occupied by someone who probably didn't want to be disturbed. Which was why she was here, to see if someone had finally vacated one of the rooms in question - obviously not, but the door was open and a girl on a mission could easily interprete that as an open invitation.

So she did. "Hi! You're like, Billy, right? I've totally seen you around in class before." Her best smile on, her homemade map clutched in one hand and the other raised in a jovial greeting, it never even occurred to Aggie that someone might not want random strangers to just come into the room and be, well, random.

Billy was most commonly known as being one of three things: 1. Kimberley's boyfriend, 2. The local a*****e, or 3. the opinionated arrogant jerk in class. When ever he heard a female voice, it was usually either Kimberley or one of her female friends who swore up and down that he was an abuser.
The voice he heard was definitely not Kim's, nor was it full of scathing. His pale rose eyes looked toward the girl, somewhat surprised. He really wasn't the most observant person when it came to people he went to class with, but when she mentioned such, it did seem to spark a memory in the boy's mind.

"Ah, yes. Yes I am. Do you need something?"

"Umh, not really. I was just passing by and wanted to say 'hi', you know?" Okay, he obviously wasn't as enthusiastic in his greetings as she was. Fine, that was totally fine too! Some people you just needed to get talking before they started warming up to you! (Or at least she'd read that in one of the rare self-help books she'd checked out of the library on occassion.)

Poor Aggie wasn't going to find Billy to be very warm no matter how hard she tried. He liked to keep a safe distance between himself and others. He was, however, good at faking closeness...when there was benefit in it for him. However, he doubted he could con her in to making it warm outside, so she was, therefore, no use to him.

"Well, then, hello." He had presumed that maybe she had wanted help with some homework or something. Oh well. "I'm sorry, but I don't believe I quite remember your name..?"

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how you looked at it) Aggie was more than willing to provide any enthusiasm, warmth or interest needed to keep a conversation going. This was a Mission. She would not, could not, fail it. Because that'd just suck majorly.

"Aggie! Don't worry about it, I don't say a lot in class so there's not a lot of people who know my name. And my real name is stodgy, seriously, who names their kid Dagmar? Aggie is much easier to remember. Uh." She looked momentarily embarrassed by her little rant before moving on. "What were you doing in here?"

"Wishing the winter away." Billy replied, cynically. Really his thoughts had moved on to all the weird happenings that were going on in the school, but there was something that wouldn't let him say it. Something that seemed to choke him if he even thought about mentioning it....

"I don't like the cold..."
PostPosted: Thu Nov 26, 2009 4:49 pm

"Ugh yeah, it gets really cold around here sometimes." She shuddered at the thought of the cold winternights to come - hopefully it'd at least snow, so they had something to look at. "But it can be really pretty too, at times. When the trees are snowy and no-one's been out to have snowball fights yet and the snow blanket is totally undisturbed."

She sighed somewhat wistfully, "But I doubt we'll be able to go out and enjoy it this year, with all the bacterial meningitis going around. You get it from infections that go wrong, right? And the cold probably isn't good for that."

"I don't know" Billy shrugged. I'm really suspicious of all these cases though... He wanted to say that, but he couldn't. Strange. "I'd gladly move to a warmer climate though, any day. Pretty snow or not."
PostPosted: Thu Nov 26, 2009 5:10 pm

"Really? Anywhere in particular? Because too much warmth would be just as bad as the cold, I think." Aggie was blissfully unaware of anything suspicious going on in the school; people had been acting odd, but that was to be expected with so much death going around. And the rumours going around about how the bodies had looked when they'd been found.. well, they were just rumours, right?

Rumors that Billy found himself believing. Because really, that many cases? Of course, he wasn't an expert on diseases. His 'somethings wrong' sense was tingling, sure enough though.

"Does it really matter where I decided to go? Away from here would be a monumental improvement, in and of itself. Atropical island would be nice."
PostPosted: Thu Nov 26, 2009 5:23 pm

"You don't like Barren Pines?" Aggie had found herself thriving here, making friends (and a boyfriend, even!) like never before. That someone might not feel the same way as she did was mindboggling. "Like, seriously? I mean, tropical islands are nice, of course, but you gotta graduate first and stuff."

Though running away and moving to a remote island did have a certain flair to it.

"It's not much different than my last school." He shrugged. And of course, most people knew what had happened there. Billy idly wondered if the teacher was teaching again or not. Hmn....
PostPosted: Thu Nov 26, 2009 5:47 pm

"Oh, you went somewhere else before?" Wow, she'd never even known that! Needless to say, Aggie didn't know. She probably wouldn't have been half as enthusiastic if she did (but then again, you never quite knew with Aggie). "I've always gone here. Well, since I was old enough, duh. Where did you go before you came here?"

"Meadowview. Got expelled late in my sophomore year," it was now Billy's senior year. Ya. The teacher was probably back by now. Heh. Poor b*****d. He hoped the students were giving him hell. There was an almost evil reminiscent grin on Billy's face.
