Who: Kyou, Xiu, Hazeline Where: Lab 305, Tsu's office When: Mid afternoon Weather: Chilled autumn air
Five days, nineteen hours, thirty two minutes, twelve seconds and three cups of coffee made by Xiu later, after the whole demonic Raevan battle incident, Kyou sat shivering in Tsu's office as the air conditioner was turned on at full blast. It is already autumn, and the weather outside was chilled and slightly windy, so why the air-conditioning? Kyou was mostly inspired by Xiu's act actually, the white Frei had been abusing the low temperature after knowing the virus's weakness was ice, or low temperature, it kept Xiu calmer for the most part and that works in Kyou's book.
Although Kyou haven't really been sleeping for a couple days after the battle, he had slept for half a day just for this occasion, just so his brain would be more awake for it. It wouldn't do if he missed his target in this kind of situation.
With him in this room sat Hazeline and Xiu. Earlier Kyou had called Hazeline to the laboratory, as Xiu's guardian and a witness to the trial treatment he is going to give to Xiu. He promised Hazeline over a week ago when Xiu was 'admitted' to the lab due to the virus, that when the cure was found, the first Raevan he will treat will be Xiu. And Kyou fully intends to keep that promise.
The air-conditioning was blowing straight down to the front of the desk, directly at Xiu and to some extent, Hazeline by Xiu's side. "Are you ready for this, Xiu?" Kyou asked.

The white frei stared flatly at the doctor, the chill of the air conditioner making his mind numb. Did he want this? Xiu figured that the probable answer was yes but with the blasting of the air conditioner at full power, it was hard to think of anything except how cold it was. The white frei shivered slightly.
Worried, Hazeline gave her charge a gentle squeeze of the hand. Like the Doctor, the guardian was wearing a rather thick layer of clothing to ward off the chill of the room. The warmth of his guardian’s hand seemed to have done Xiu some good as the frei was now regarding the Doctor thoughtfully.
“I am…ready…,” Xiu replied a little hesitantly as a flicker of doubt crossed the white frei’s feature. Pale lips parted in a half attempt at baring them at the Doctor but this was foiled as another blast of cold air was sent from the air conditioner above. Suitably subdued, the white frei nodded. “Anything…as long as I get to leave this infernally cold room,”

"I'm sorry, Xiu." because it will get colder soon, but Kyou kept quiet as he pulled out a small plastic package from his lab coat pocket. Then from within the plastic Kyou pulled out a small syringe with some yellow liquid in it.
The cold Xiu feels now is just a means to control the virus, it can't cure him. The only way to kill it is to kill from within. The cold he feels now will be nothing compared to what he is going to endure later when this is injected into him.
"This is liquidized hydrogen sulfide." Kyou explained as he held up the syringe. "According to my research, it had been used to induce hypothermia to treat ischemic injury to tissue, cardiac arrest and strokes." Putting down the syringe on the freezing table surface, Kyou folded both his hands together to keep them warm. "The virus's weakness is ice, or low temperature. The best way to kill it is to kill from within, since the virus attaches itself to Xiu's blood cells. Now I must warn you, induced hypothermia would lower your breathing rate and your body temperature drastically. Xiu would most probably fall into a temporary coma or hibernation for a few hours, maybe a few days. I can't be sure. But research had shown that patients could survive the procedure with no negative health consequences. Don't worry, I will monitor over him during the entire process until he wakes up." Kyou reassured Hazeline as he saw the worry in her eyes.
Truth to be told, Kyou is still unsure of the hydrogen sulfide treatment, since he can't be hundred percent sure that this is the cure after all. However, he is at least ninety percent confident that it will work, after observation done to three Raevans for the past few days, and with Alex's help too.
"Now Xiu, can you pull up your sleeve and put your hand here with your palm facing up? I will inject it into your wrist."

Xiu watched as the Doctor held out a small syringe containing a small dose of something yellow. Liquidized hydrogen sulfide, the Doctor had said as he explained about killing the virus from within. Red eyes stared at the small syringe placed atop the table with suspicion. That liquid was going to lower his body temperature? It was unbelievable that such a small amount could cause such a large change.
Hazeline meanwhile was looking at the Doctor with nothing less than horror on her face. What the Doctor said might be true but those were mice and these were…raevans. Hazeline glanced worriedly at her charge. Xiu seemed calmed enough but maybe that was because Xiu was not aware of the possible danger.
“It is alright,”said Xiu reassuringly. “Doctor Kyou has…worked hard on this,”
What was he saying? Even Xiu himself did not believe those words. Although the Doctor had been working day and night on the cure but…Xiu found himself staring at the syringe again. With obvious apprehension, the white frei pulled up his sleeves and held out his palm. The sensation of the metal needle as it went into his flesh and the vague feeling of the yellow liquid as it was pushed into his vein sent a small wave of horror through the white frei but that sensation was quickly replaced by a feeling of immense coldness. Shuddering, the white frei bent over gasping, his pale arms wrapped tightly around his partly formed chest. It was….so cold….
Soon, the white frei’s breathing slowed and the white frei felt himself losing consciousness. He was aware that someone was holding him up but…he was not sure who it was…there was also that sensation of being lifted and placed onto something but….
The world went black.

Carefully, Kyou placed the unconscious Frei onto the examination table. The hydrogen sulfide was no joke, Xiu felt like he was stone cold when Kyou picked him up. For a moment the scientist was worried that the injection had killed him. However the slow but steady breathing, the existent of a pulse and the dimly glowing rune said otherwise, and that reassured Kyou. Now he just need to keep an eye on Xiu to make sure all his vitals are stable until he wakes up.
Stepping back, he took out a sphygmomanometer from a shelf and wrapped the cuff around Xiu's arm. Kyou will be keeping an eye on his blood pressure every two hours, to make sure its stable. After Xiu wake up, he will need to draw some blood samples from him to be sure the virus had been completely purged from his body.
Now it is just a matter of waiting.
