Code: AI-LI/Am2 PPMBA
Troop Slang: Liam Suit
Manufacturer: Empire's Armaments
Description: The Liam Suit is the lighter model of Altresian armoured suits, it is the current standard issue to all Light Infantry and Aviators. The armour consists of both heavy plated sections and a reinforced undersuit, which can be pressurized and used in hazardous environments or (for short periods) in the vacuum of space. The Liam requires very little energy to operate and mostly bolsters the wearers natural strength through the use of gears.
Specs:
Weight: 73 lbs (no optional, helmet included)
Speed: Speed Unaugmented
Armour Class: Medium
Safe Energy Usage: 14 hours of use (requires 4 hours to fully recharge)
- Features -
Helmet:
The Liam's helmet has a large, clear face plate. The helmet has an inbuilt search light and a low-powered optical targeting system. The helmet had a sealing ring to allow the suit to be pressurized and has plug-ins for pilot-to-fighter interface software.
-Sub: Targeting System
The optical targeting system is situated on the right side of the helmet and slides down to cover the same eye. The system can lock on to a target and follow it until out of sight and has a range of 2-3x magnification zoom. Also contains a night vision mode.
Body Armour:
Thick plates of armour cover the arms, shoulders, chest and boots. The chest plate has an inbuilt space for holding the standard issue side-arm. The right shoulder guard is significantly heavier than the left and prevents the arm from being raised above the head. Thinner more complex overlapping plates protect the hands.
Body Suit:
Close fitting armoured suit covered from the neck down, has protection against laser, heat and minor slashing damage. Thermal lining keeps the body warm but can cause slight discomfort in warmer climates.
Gear Systems:
Allow for greater ease of movement and support the heavy plates of the armour. Slightly powered, but do not unnatural strength to the wearer.
Backpack:
Holds two cylindrical batteries that power the suit, these have attachable solar recharging units that allow the suit extended field work. In-between the batteries is space for mission specific kit such as demolition packs and extra armaments.
Utility Belt:
Holds up to three grenades (standard issue is fragmentation), a combat knife and is the anchor for the flexible front-open, armoured skirt.
Optional Plating:
Extra armour plating can be added to the Liam. The first optional piece is a curved plate that covers the upper chest and neck, adds 1 lbs to armour weight. Second is a stomach segment, reduces mobility and adds 2 lbs, usually only added when exposure to space is possible (i.e. bording actions and fights inside orbital stations).

Customization:
The Altresians are a very proud people and see amour as personal symbols. After the owner has completed one successful mission (this means the objective was completed not that they simply lived) they are allowed to customize their armour. This can be as complex as ornamentation and inscribing the plates with holy verse or just a personal colour scheme. Though many of these can be very expansive and a few soldiers avoid any customization in favour of saving their pay-check.
