When I talk, no one can see it and I was wondering how to make it so other people can see it. Like I see when other people talk and say all that dps and wtb stuff. I know to hit enter to talk to people close to me, but how do you chat to people who aren't close to you? like on the general chat thingy.

in your chat bar type '/1' before you say anything for general chat, '/2' for trade chat in the city, '/g' for chat in your guild, '/p' for chat in your party, '/w' and a player name to whisper a player.

/1 - General Chat in the area
/2 - Trade Chat which gives you access to talk to other people in other major cities, only available in major cities
/3 - Local Defense. If you need help in PvP realms then other characters in the same area you are will hear you
/g - Guild
/p - Party
/w (name) - Whisper to a character
/bg - Battleground
/raid - Raid
