[T-Day 2009] The Teraligh Ruins

User Image

The Treachu have an enormous life span and when they consider something to be ancient, it really is! The Ruins are located in the Teraligh Desert. The temperatures here are extremely high and way above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. So please, do not play out here too long if you are a human or have lots of fur! And watch out for poisonous creatures that live in the sand and the old architecture!

Austin sighed contently when he reached the desert sand. He removed his shoes, and curled his toes into the hot earth. A soft wind blew, and it vaguely reminded him of Sand Nation, but moreso, 'home'.
He walked slowly at first, simply looking around and taking in the curling desert slopes. soft winds blew every now and then, and Austin traced his arms along joyfully in the when they did, his robe flapping freely, as well as the cape in the back. He came upon a few stone pillars that had long since been unused.
He walked along for another half an hour before turning around to make his way back, when he noticed the plains had changed.
"Wait a second."

He couldn't believe it. He REALLY couldn't believe it. He was lost. As far as using the anitgravity Jutsu went, it was taking all of his energy to keep from floating off, and he had to face it, he wasn't fit enough to use techniques in this gravity.
So he was stuck with his feet. As soon as he reached the top of a hill, the only thing he could see for miles were more plains of sand.
Austin cursed. He reached into his shirt and slowly removed the other tag from his left bicep, and the tag he had placed on his chest. He placed them on the back of his calves, and stood upright slowly.
He hoped this would work out.
"Let's see if my physics is up to date."
He leapt up and seemingly floated upwards in a straight line. He leaned forward, and the heft of his chest caused him to curve downwards in a quick slope. He hit the edge of a hill with his back and tailbone, and though it was cushioned, he got an immense pain in his rear, so to speak.
He stood up slowly. In the edge of the horizon, he could see the ruins, and the lake next to them. He took another great leap, and slowly leaned forward this time, finding he could arc his landing at will. When it seemed he had still leaned too quickly, and was about to hit the Ruins head on, he dropped down, and curled into a ball. He rolled across the limp sand when he landed and was laid out by the impact. The force kept him rolling, and he landed in the icy cool water of the lake.
Austin jumped up immediately. It was refreshing to have cool water after that trek, but not like this. He ran ashore quickly, and began to take his walk back to the palace, tracing his path back by memory from this point.

Pfft. Airship. Ha!

She really wished she hadn't jinxed herself by saying that. She regretted using her IIM to teleport directly onto the planet and avoiding customs that would have helped her stay in better shape. Being lost was one thing. Being lost and stuck was another.

For nearly an hour, she'd been forced to throw off a pack of lovely natives looking for a new playmate. She was terribly small and her self-sufficient hair was just ASKING to be pulled. It was waving itself around tauntingly like a tail, floating about like a lure for a fish. As a result, she ended up attracting a couple of kids and a few teenagers that were intrigued by her appearance and her lineage. That was how much time she had to spend in the sun.

Her burns were healing now that she found shade behind a large pillar of stone. These ruins were quite beautiful and mysterious. Beautiful for their shape and style. Mysterious for their ability to disrupt her IIM and render her incapable of teleporting. A First Class Noble must have placed this here, either by mistake or by meaning. She could only wonder which of her ten former superiors did the deed.

Her body felt heavy... so heavy that she would have given up her march-like posture if she were sure there were no prying eyes. Against all advice she chose not to dress lightly, to her slight regret. Post-modification Victorian bustle dresses and hot climates do not mix well at all. Regalia was rather angry at herself. She used to live in climates that would have melted planets down to nothing.

Her quote of the week: "Being human is so hard."

Desperate times called for desperate measures. The moment her dress snagged on a claw and ripped, she gave up on dressing prim and proper. Her dress, now torn to pieces, was modified to a black silk sarong with bikini and a matching sling-tied wrap-top. Even her boots... with the help of her new friends, she cut them down to their soles and wrapped it with ribbon to secure to her feet. Every time her silver heels struck the pavement, a crystal bell seemed to ring from her feet.

The overall image she now wore was that of a... pin-up model... with a sword. She couldn't care about it anymore. In fact, she was grateful that she brought sunscreen by accident, thinking it was bath lotion.

As she stepped out from behind her refuge, ready to seek other less painful adventures, the sun glistened off of her sunscreen-oiled skin, making her slender body glow. The brilliance of the sky turned her white hair into pale fire. The fire amber jewels on her arms and her sword hilt stirred. Her entire being lit up like a star.

Her mind calmed.

This was the glory she belonged to. She was Regulus the Lionhearted, the Fallen Star, a Second Class member of the Grand Divine Council's House of Lords. She was a noble among nobles, a queen among queens. Take away all that she possessed and leave her stripped naked before a crowd and no one, NO ONE, should be able to deny that she was to be respected.

THAT... was the pride of the Multiverse.

Her heartbeat slowed to normal. There was nothing for her to startle over. In the true light of things, even the oldest natives here were mere newborns to her former self. She who watched as the planet known as 'Earth' spat the infernal breaths of its birth... she who was born before this universe ever came to existence...

... she who was now human and was quick to get sunburned.

"Being human is so hard..." She walked slowly away with her small messenger bag slung over her scanty clothes, suffering the sun silently as if a lion or king too proud to show pain to the ruthless sky. Her IIM should return to proper function when she left the proximity of the ruins.

"Why can't humans fly...?"

Iraina was walking through the ruins. She heard about them, and, because of her love of adventure and history, she decided to check them out. The only thing she forgot to remember was the heat.

Damn! It's sweltering out here!
She thought as she wiped the sweat off her face with her hand. Iraina was also carrying with her a spear, to protect herself from the desert creatures.

"I just hope I don't get lost here..." said Iriana as she truged along. Something else occured to her.

"I think I'm getting dizzy."

From the peaks of the Teraligh Ruins a falling object could be seen. The beaming sun produced a painful glare as it reflected off the metal shell of the unidentified craft. From behind a steady stream of pollution followed leaving a cloud of black in its wake. The sight itself could be described as nothing more than out of the ordinary, and certainly there was a hint of catastrophe there as well. As the object fell closer to the surface it made impact blowing a large pocketful of sand upwards and outwards, creating a whirlwind effect before settling in heaps in the surrounding area. What was left behind, was a massive crater and a pretty beat up spaceship. From within, quite the argument could be heard:

“Trav! You beat the crap out of this ship on a daily basis! You know I can only fix her so many times! It’s not gonna run if you don’t treat her right!” A female voice shouted in frustration.

”Yeah, you’d know about that wouldn’t you?” a male voice answered nonchalantly

“Useless man.” She muttered under her breath. Within her fingers the girl twirled her wrench idly, as if attempting to calm herself. It wasn’t working too well. The man simply shrugged, not bothering to argue with her. Trav was laid back, he didn’t bite his mechanic’s bait very often, despite her numerous attempts.

“What happened to that cocky attitude of yours?” The girl was honestly frustrated. The ship was in a terrible state of disrepair and all of this sand was doing nothing to help either.

“Laziness set in,” he stated. As if mirroring his spoken words, he kicked his feet up onto the console and reclined back in the pilot’s seat, ”attitude takes energy.”. Of course the female had learned how to peak his attention rather quickly if she wanted to. She gave a soft sigh and shook her head back and forth as she lamented,

“Guess you’re too lazy for a bout of fun then. Shame, I was feeling rather up to it.” She waited for his usual change in posture but was quickly disappointed as he waved his hand at her.

“Bring me some beer and we’ll see,” was his only response. At this, the mechanic quickly angered, pulling her wrench into her palm as she walked in front of him.

“I’ll bring beer and a few wrenches to smack you over the head with!” she chided. As she did so she gripped her wrench and swung it at him. Trav’s reflexes allowed him to duck away just in time with a sly grin on his face, leaving her tapping her foot in annoyance.

“Good, good. Now get going. I have to shoot down some fighters still…” As if spurred into action, he whipped a large laser style bazooka from under his pilot’s seat. The boy had too many toys. ”This should do it!” he exclaimed with a grin. The girl shook her head as she spoke.

”We landed you idiot! Her hand quickly went to rub her throbbing temples. He could be so infuriating and childish sometimes! Of course she was being childish too, having ignored his orders to get going.

“Well yeah. But there’s still some buzzards flapping around up there. I’d like to show them the lovely view of this field up close.” Normally, the girl would have grinned and encouraged his games, but this time she was a little too aggravated over the ship’s state of disrepair. She had a lot of work to do.

“Trav, let’s not waste the resources we have. Or did you not notice we’re in the middle of a desert?” She pointed out of the windshield and the seemingly endless landscape of sand dunes.

” Well, it’s either wreck them, or they will come and pepper this ship to ensure she’s dead. Hate for you to walk all that ways and come back with wrenches to find only smoldering scrap.” He had a point, of course he had a point! He was always right. The fact annoyed the mechanic to no end, and yet she still insisted on arguing. Maybe just once she’d win.

” It's already smoldering scrap! Do you know how long it's going to take to fix this piece of crap because you decide to be idiotic and reckless? You take the cowboy thing to far sometimes!” She was clearly agitated, even so, she had already strapped her tools back onto her belt and reached for her jacket. It got cold at night in the desert.

” You never complained about that when it comes to saddling up.” A crimson blush quickly rose to her cheeks as she watched his smile grow wide.

“That's because I was the one who was driving!” she quipped back.

” Whose idea was it to slip through the Ryuusei business sector to make some more time?” She wanted to argue, but knew better than to even try at this point. He was right on both counts, and thus he had her beat.. The moment quickly passed as he stood pulling a second gun from his holster and cocking it in his free hand.

”Anyways, enough bickering. Get going Addy, I’m about to start dancing.” Aderis nodded and spun on her heel. She couldn’t help but glance back with a grin as Trav fired a round into the air and literally danced to avoid getting hit by the ricocheting laser.

Crapsticks. She seriously loved that word. That and '********'. Oh, Raid, how wonderful a father you have been to this poor, lost child! You enrich her vocabulary so!

Regulus looked like a white torch against the dark-golden sand. Her pale body, accented by her black sarong and bikini, ended in her 10-feet long worth of incandescent, white hair. If that didn't look like a torch, then it'd look like a candle.

Whatever the hell she looked like, she was about to collapse from heat exhaustion.

"Being human is so hard..." The many-times reiterated quote... ah... how many times has she said it in the past couple of hours? It wasn't entirely accurate either since she wasn't REALLY human. Humans weren't immortal. Thus begins a monologue of woe.

"When I told you I didn't want to go to school, Raid, why didn't you listen to me? Huh! I may be a helpless little chick now, but hell, those centuries and centuries ago, I created you! Why do I have to go to school?"

Her trail of footprints in the sand was so short. Leading from the ruins to the city, viewed from above, it would only seem about fifteen percent the distance. She'd been at it for what felt like hours...

"And what's it with these rocks anyway?" The monologue continued. "Who did it? Betel? Ashkasith? Uer-- I can't pronounce spectral waves, !%*$&#^$*#! Grr... I bet it was all planned out! You KNEW I was going to somehow end up landing on these rocks because I was going to IIM! You made sure that it would totally annihilate my IIM drive so I'd have to use this ridiculously short body to WALK. You old geezers!"

Her vision was growing hazy. Gosh... the first day and she was already passing out. Were all human schools this hard? Last she remembered, everyone she observed from the other high schools came back on those giant, butter-stick looking buses quite alive... er... more or less.

"Raid... I want to drink a virgin strawberry daiquiri..." As the angry ranting turned to murmuring, it was evident that she was losing her edge. She was still yet unused to this human body. "I was contracted to you by the people I hate... and you sent me to school... but... I can't really ever hate you. You are my son, and you are my father... ha ha... a strawberry daiquiri sounds so good..."

Her sight whited out and she felt the sting of sand against her skin as her body crumbled. Still her hair floated like a flame, almost like a beacon in hope someone would find her. An immortality as a mummy in the sand was not worth a couple ounces of her pride.

Humans were so weak... So, very weak... Once again, she had overestimated this vessel.

"Being human... is so hard..."

((It's impossible to NOT get the biblical reference for her relationship with Raid at this point. The symbolism is way too obvious. xD I'll leave the details to your interpretation though~.))

In the cloudless sky, a red dot sparkled in it. Suddenly the dot became bigger and bigger until it looked like a small red comet. A minute went by and the red object slammed into the sandy ground. The sand around and in the crater had turned to glass from the heat of the impact. From it rose a blonde haired boy. He looked around trying to figure out where he was. " Great! I landed in the desert! I knew I should have gone with Shepard. Sheesh it sure is rocky out here. Not much else. I wonder where those lizard people are?" Gordon said, still looking for something to guide him to civilization. " I guess if I keep flying in the direction I"m sensing stuff I'll find someone eventually" he said before spreading his red feathered wings and flying off into the distance, looking for anything to guide him to the palace.

Flying in the heat was not easy, Gordon had to go slow, trying not to expand too much energy. As he flew though, he noticed something laying in the sand. Curious, he landed and started walking towards it. At first he thought it was an oddly shaped rock but as he approached it it turned out to be a short girl. Almost immediately, Gordon started running over to her, tripping once or twice in the sandy ground.

Gordon kneeled down and shook her a bit. " Hey are you okay? Say something if your conscious!" Gordon yelled. She wasn't a lizard person so she must have been a student that wandered too far out and got lost. He didn't know if she was dead or not or why she passed out. All Gordon knew is that he had to find the palace, a town or anywhere with water fast, otherwise the girl was most certainly not going to make it.

As Iraina was walking along, she noticed a couple. A boy and an girl.

What a nice place to have a romantic date. Iraina thought sarcastically. She stared to continue on her way. As she passed, she got a clear view of the scene.

It didn't take long for her to realize that something's wrong.

As she ran closer, Iraina soon realized that the girl next to the boy was in fact, unconsious.

"Hey! You need help?!" Iraina yelled as she ran closer to the couple.

"Hah... I'm alive..." She wheezed into the sand, coughing weakly. Someone was standing over her... Gosh, the shade felt so good. Her skin immediately began recovering, the burns visibly fading away where he stood. Still, she was only vaguely aware of his presence, replying to him instinctively from her half-awake stupor.

The sword at her waist pulsed slightly in recognition of the man that bent down above her. Her hair writhed up, did a 'I'm saved!' sort of wiggly motion, and returned to floating normally. Not once did her hair touch the ground -- ever. It was like one of those things that shouldn't happen. The day her hair touched the ground would be like the day the world ended. Her hair touching the ground is like Hitler loving the Jews; like the KKK going to a dance party with black people; like Bill Clinton not having an affair!

It just didn't work that way.

"Heh... don't worry... I can't die, even if you kill me." It sounded like painful huffing though it should really be a laugh. Being a hardass about things was one of her highlight traits -- a talent, if you must. Today really wasn't the right day to show off her skill at being stubborn though.

"Although... I'd prefer that no one tried to kill me. It'd be... much less painful... that way... Ha..."

How the mighty have fallen... She thought with a mental grimace. The once Noble among Nobles... this had to be a joke. Get your lazy a** up, you no good piece of astral debris.

"Raid... Strawberry daiquiri..."

Note: Making sense was not something that Regulus was good at.

Meanwhile, Rampant had ideas of his own. The fire ambers on the pommel and hilt glowed softly as the sword took in the view of the stranger. This man... his maker had once come into contact with this man. The legendary swordsmith Rivencaira from the era of Atlantis had, some time ago, been repossessed by Clover and Androtech, the same company that provided Regulus with her cybernetic implants and the wings that she left behind in Ria. What's more, Rivencaira had once attended this exact same school by suggestion of Clover and Androtech. Since then, she had disappeared once, resurfaced once, and disappeared once again... supposedly with her blood-sucker angel lover, Kira... or otherwise captured by her father's side of the family and forced into permanent confinement.

Well, that was non of Regulus' business though Rampant was quite curious to the fate of she who forged him. If this person had indeed come into contact with his smith, then there could be a slim chance he might know where she's gone. The only information Rampant had been able to access was from the files of Clover and Androtech... such as the nature of his creation; the part-sword, part-spirit, part-electronic composition of his body; and the name of his fated weilder... Regulus the Lionhearted.

There would be time for much investigation... or perhaps not. Who's ever heard of a sword that investigated? He hadn't even revealed his living form to his new mistress yet nor had he registered his official overlord title with the Aracordus Tartarus which archived all Dominus ever created. Rampant was rather quiet for a Dominus Weapon.

" Darn, she might suffering from heat stroke! She's delirious and not making any sense. But a Strawberry daiquiri does sound good. No no, focus" Gordon said looking over the girl for any wounds. She did mention a raid so she might have been attacked by a bunch of bandits. " I'm not gonna try to kill you. If you want I can carry you back to the Palace. I can fly and we can get their by night fall" he said offering a hand to help her up.

Suddenly he heard a another voice and immediately turned around, relaxing when he saw another person. " Oh hello! no I think I got it handled but thank you. We where just about to leave. What are you doing out this far anyways? Its dangerous out here. I can take you back too if you want. I can hold one of you and the other can ride on my back" Gordon offered to the new girl. He didn't seem to notice the sword pulse behind him.

She sneezed. Everything seemed funnier all of a sudden. Was it because her human body wasn't used to being exposed to so much radiation? Even when she invoked the Endless Hunt, it was usually for very short periods of time despite the high radiation rates. The cybernetic components of her body helped her about that.

Perhaps the thing she loved most about her interior parts was the fact they didn't weigh her down. She was only about 90 lbs to begin with. The extra weight boosted her up to 140lbs. It wasn't too awfully bad to have metal in her body if she still weighed less than a good deal of other people though... fifty pounds of interior prosthetics was still an intimidating idea.

He would be able to feel it when she reached up and grabbed his hand, hefting herself from the sand with relative ease but tottering immediately as she stood. She couldn't see. She couldn't feel. Her modified clothes were all but falling off of her... not that there was anything to see from that flat chest of hers.

As much as she loved her pride, she loved comfort enough that she's give up on her arrogance and poise to get out of the sun. She was weak in comparison to so many people now, it was disgraceful -- she, who watched as life first emerged on earth and served as Nike beside the Goddess Athena... her constant weakness was such a blow to her ego.

Perhaps that was why the GDC targeted it when they placed her in this body. The greatest gift she received from interaction with humanity was her pride. Her punishment was having her former glory revoked and her pride crushed underfoot.

"I can still IMM... get far enough away... I'll teleport the rest..." He probably had no idea what she was talking about.

((That was my last post for this incidence~! Once you two finish up, we can move on to another thread. O: ))

Iraina looked at the boy and smiled. "That would be nice, thank you." She picked up her spear and grabbed on to his hand.

"I just now realized how dangerous it was out here, too. I almost felt like I was about to end up just like the girl. And of all the luck I had no more water in my canteen. I'm ready to get out of here."

Iraina's clothes were starting to soak with sweat, and she wiped some off her face again. Her hair was starting to frizz and she was burning up badly, even though she barely had anything on and was slightly flustered due to the heat.

The sun blazed down on the ruins, the air thick and the sun's ragging beams poured across not old the old architecture but the desert that surrounded it. The wind blew lightly across the dunes, picking up the sand a drifting it through the air, some floating straight into Sawyer's lungs as he slowly lifted himself up from the top of the ruins. He gagged and coughed, trying to remove the sand from his throat while growing accustom to the air. he was displeased with his telportation ritual yet again, of course it was his fault do to his inexperience, but his arrivals just seemed to suck. He picked himself up and began to gather the things that had spilled out of his bag as he looked around on the horizon. As he spotted the palace, his jaw dropped a little and the vein in his forehead pulsed quite a bit. Of course I'd arrive a good distance away from where I need to be and this gravity sucks, my whole body feels pulled down! ... At least I dressed appropriately.

Sawyer examined his attire he had chosen for the trip. He wore a white beater, cargo shorts and a pair of hiking boots. Wiping the sweat from his brow, he peered down from the ruin in which he had landed. Looking down he guess that climbing was the only answer, he was at least 10 yards up from the sands below. With a quick sigh, he slung his bag on his shoulder and began to stroll. A small cracking noise alarmed as he walked, he looked around quickly and then down. As his line of vision hit the floor, his body hit nothing as a small hole formed and he shot down through the old building.

s**t....

Darkness. It was the best way to describe the predicament Sawyer had gotten himself into. He had to admit it was a little nicer in here than outside in the sun. It was cooler for sure, and the light didn't even make anything better in the pit, the suns glares passing right over the whole. Brushing himself off in the dark, he began to look around, for what reason he was unsure of. How had he gotten himself into another mess like this? The ritual was a bust, sure he'd gotten to the planet at least, but it always failed him somehow and now this. The blood inside him began to boil as he continued to sit there there, stuck in his own thoughts. he felt it coming, it began to radiate threw his body and he grew warm. Glaring into the darkness, he began to push it outward. Suddenly a large burst of flame erupted along something ... the something was not the best thing in the world to ignite.

You have got to be kidding me....

A large hiss came from the creatures mouth as it's eyes took sight on Sawyer. It was a snake like creature, at least fifteen feet long, four piercing red eyes and a mouth full of teeth that so did not look pleasing. Sawyer quickly stood, jumping back while tossing his bag off to the side. Another hiss escaped from the beast as it began to move and come around from the right at Sawyer. Quickly he jumped back and put up his fists. Sure fighting the snake was not gonna work with his hands but he didn't have much else to work with. As he felt dear hit his body, he began to focus on it. The beast lunged at him with lightning speed, Sawyer projected the emotion out and luckily just caught the snake in his gift. The snake froze in place, unable to move.

"Time to get the hell outta here!" he shouted out loud to no one, the echos of his voice hit the dark walls. Wall to wall, he looked for a way out but was slowly met with the fact the fire on the snake's tail was beginning to dwindle. Speeding towards the wall, he jumped up and latched onto the wall, trying to climb as quick as he could. Sorry Sawyer, guess today is not your day! was all he could imagine the gods saying as they watched. The snake unfroze and whipped it's tail, the flames dispersing off it but collided straight into the boy's ribs, knocking him from the wall to another.

A groan escaped from his lips as he looked around, his vision slightly blurred from the impact. The struck ribs screamed at him as he forced himself, to sit upward. Before he even had a chance to lift himself fully, he felt a sharp pain slash through his right leg, forcing him to scream out in pain. His eyes focused on the beast, as it's fangs sunk into his leg, he could feel the poison slowly entering his body. he knew he should have just tried to catch the airship, if he had then this wouldn't have happened. His rage built and his focus struck down upon the monster as it sunk deeper into his leg. Throwing his hand forward, he released the rage and it flowed into the beast, causing an explosion. The blast ripped the head of the beast clear from it's body, and Sawyer ripped the head from his leg and began to slide towards his bag he hoped, he had an anti-venom sitting in it.

Gotta get outta here, and get this healed fast. I can't feel my leg though, and it's back to being pitch black ... so this isn't going to go well. I just gotta ...

Another hiss echoed the walls.
