[T-Day 2009] The Treachu Day Palace (Dining Room)

User Image

Even though the Thanksgiving feast will be held at the Royal Palace, Eiyah has set out a small feast for when ever anyone is hungry in the Day Palace. There are no tables in this room though. Just long couches and lots of silk pillows. This is the one place where you can try some traditional Treachu cuisine!

Austin and Ginseku coughed upon entering the room.
"It's...Like an Arabian Harem, almost. Or something like that, right?"
Ginseku looked around and when he was sure nobody was present, he nodded quickly.
"Dude. I wouldn't say that so loudly."
"Why not? They don't know what an Arab is, they've never been to Arabia, and even if they knew what a Harem was, they'd never know how an actual Arabian Harem could compare to their Royal dining hall. So hush."
Ginseku frowned and shook his head. Austin approached the large accumulation of native food, and examined the spread. He found that there were things similar to what he knew from earth, but there were little differences; for instance, there was something that resembled Eel, but it had 2 tails.
He noted a small piece of paper put aside for the students. He read it.
"..."
Ginseku, in the meantime cracked his back, and considered taking a quick bite, and taking a nap on some of these pillows. They look rather inviting after that long-a** trip on the ship.
AND THE HURTLES. Oh god, the hurtles that ship went through when switching portals.
He could feel them even now, and he remembered how he almost lost his breakfast to that trip. Suddenly, he wasn't very hungry anymore, and was opting instead to take a quick stroll. He looked off at Austin, and saw he was reading a piece of paper.
"Whatcha reading there, Austin?"
"I can't leave all my food here, just some. The real dinner will be held in the Royal palace. It seems this is Eiyah's palace, the teacher that got us invited here in the first place."
"No joke? That's what this is all about. I wondered why we were here.."
Austin looked up at Ginseku and shook his head.
"What? Keep going, what else?"
"Well, I'm just going to put out half of the food, and I guess that'll be that. We'll come back later for a bite."
Austin opened his suitcase, and lifted out 5 of his 10 iron boxes. After emptying their contents onto various plates, he replaced the empty boxes and closed his suitcase.
Of the five foods he brought, there are:
Carne Asada: Steak cut into small squares, floured, broiled, and then boiled in Beef broth with potatoes, squash, carrot, onion, and a bit of garlic. The sauce has a gravy brown texture and everything is coated in it;
bits of meat are apparent, and bits of vegetable poke out. Served with Rice.

Thai-style Red Curry: Pork tenderloin cut into small pieces, dry-flour battered and stir-fried in a wok. Bell pepper, Onion, Orange sliver(orange skin in small slivers), Jalapeno, and lemon juice are added in and slowly cooked, then cream and milk are added, along with Red Curry powder and jalapeno powder for spice. Is served with rice.

Lemon Blueberry bundt cake:
Yummy bundt cake with 1/2 cup lemon zest and 1/3 cup lemon juice mixed in, along with 1 cup of blueberries. A lemon zest sugar frosting glazes the top in small droplets!

Lemongrass coated chicken breasts served with Linguini: Chicken breasts powdered with Lemongrass and Lemon pepper, then grilled slowly. Cut into pieces and presented on Creamy Linguini pasta.

Paella: A mixture of wild rice, shrimp, carrots, green beans, chicken, Turkey, snow peas, chopped broccoli, and slivers of beef sirloin.

They ate, and oh lord id the eat enough. Talon seemed to be a bottomless pit of nothingness as he swallowed the food effortlessly, like as if nothing could stop him. Sawyer meanwhile ate lightly as if he ate all the time. There was nothing wrong with him, no disorders or anything, but he ate as though he had to ration it all. Finally after an hour of stuffing his face, the demon wiped his mouth with a napkin and leaned back against the one couch that they sat, he didn't appear stuffed or packed but you could tell he was good, with a sigh he looked over at the smaller male. The short one sat looking at Talon with a never ending smile on his face staring at the demon with no effort at all, as if it were a natural occurrence to him.

"Do you wanna split a cig with me?"
"Yeahh"

They had talked while they were eating, since it tend to be the easiest time for them to talk. Talon let his gaurd down the whole time he ate. To anyone that knew him, it was the one chance you could speak with him and get real answers from him and not some made up answer that mean nothing. They shared what had happened in between the 18 years they had been apart. Talon shared the places he had seen, the things he had learned and the people he had been with. Sawyer's stories told of his friends from his new home, the trouble they had gotten into and what he did in school before coming here.

Talon could tell though, he wasn't resistant to reading Sawyer like an open book in front of him like he hadn't ever read it. Uncomfortable was so less of the word to describe it; he knew that though he was accepting of his escapades that it hurt him in a way. It made Talon feel like crap because it felt as if he had done wrong even if Sawyer had let him know it was okay. It hurt him, the demon knew that too well, but he could only make up for it now that he was with him.

"So what do we do now?"
"We enjoy ourselves, it's taken forever to finally get back together again. & Now we're here and we can do anything and everything, with each other"

Sawyer looked at the taller male and smiled as if nothing had ever hurt him in any way. He kissed him lightly before using his hand to take the cigarette from the demon's hand and began to smoke it. With a few puffs, the smaller male tossed the cigarette and took the large male hand by hand. He began to run and pull him along, as if he were a happy child going to a candy store and ran towards the courtyard/ garden area.

"We have to go and see if we can meet anyone, so many students are here, we should try to make friends!"
"Whatever you want babe, lead the way!'

With an unheard of speed, the two bolted off towards the garden, hoping they'd find people to talk to.

As he stepped off the airship, he could feel his entire body become drenched in sweat. This planet was humid, hot and he felt like had just gained about 50 pounds. He wiped the sweat which was rapidly accumulating on his forehead off with great difficult and followed his nose to the dining room. It was remarkably cooler in here than outside, and he felt a slap on his behind as he entered the room. It took him by surprise, but he knew that it was a way the Treachu people said hello from the brochure he had received before signing up for the trip.

He found his way to a couch and let padgett save him a seat before helping himself to a variety of some fowl as well as what seemed to be red meat, as well as a gargantuan steamed carrot with some sort of white sauce on it. It all tasted delicious, and he didn't care what any of the food was. He was just hungry. He made a small plate of gelatin for Padgett, who didn't like to eat much, but loved Jell-O.

He finished his plate in no time and closed his eyes. The heat was already making him sleepy. He'd wait a little for Feli to finish eating before he got any more. For right now he'd just rest.

Padgett didn't like the heat. It made him feel dry, and as a water nymph, it was hard to do anything when it was very dry. He poked at his jell-o and gave Max a look, hoping for some water, but Max wasn't looking at him. Instead, he looked longingly at Feli. Maybe she'd help him out.

Clutching her knapsack in her left hand, Feli followed Max through a series of hallways until they ended up in front of the dining room door. She marvelled at his excellent sense of direction but said nothing, pulling at the low neck of her cardigan as it stuck to the sheen of sweat on her chest; it was hotter on Kasyune than she'd anticipated, but she still wasn't too uncomfortable, as she'd spent most of her life in warmer climes. She passed through the grand door and her jaw dropped immediately in disbelief. This isn't the main dining room? she thought incredulously. Her greenish-hazel eyes grew round as she took in the mounded-over platters of chicken, ham, turkey, pasta, salad, impeccable desserts, and some other foods she didn't recognise. As Max strolled in, she noticed a large male Treachu smack his rear, and Max appeared momentarily shocked, though she knew he must have read about the Treachu greeting. She was more prepared when her turn came, and she turned to the hefty male as his tail slapped her rear, hesitating only for a second before lightly tapping his tail and bowing her head in greeting. The male appeared pleasantly surprised, and she smiled amicably, nodded again, and continued after Max.

She found a plate and utensils at one end of the giant platter-filled table in the centre of the room, and heaped it with strange meats and vegetables, delighted that one platter contained paella, albeit nontraditional; she was just glad for food that she knew, among all the other foreign dishes. Carrying her full plate carefully back to the couch where Max sat with Padgett, Feli tried to figure out what kinds of food she'd gathered, but couldn't imagine even the names of some. She sat and selected a utensil resembling a spoon from the pile she'd picked up at the table. Scooping up some purplish gunk, she placed it cautiously on her tongue and soon found that she thought it delicious. Everything else on her plate proved incredibly tasty, too, and she soon scraped her plate clean, completely full and satisfied.

Feli happened to look up and notice Padgett staring at her, forlornly poking at the gelatin on his plate. She blinked, immediately concerned. "What is it, Padgett? Are you hungry for something else?" Frowning, she turned her eyes to Max, but he appeared to be asleep.
