K....there has been the lifelong question of whether NASCAR is a sport or not (well idk about you people, but my friends and family bring up the argument a lot). My question to you people's is, what do I do when it comes up to bring up the point that NASCAR is indeed a sport?
Any help is greatly appreciated, I hate losing this stupid argument

the question should be.. how is it not a sport? They are going 200 mph, ricking their lives on ever straightaway, and turn! they have to be fit and able to control themselves. they have to be fit mentally and physically.

I've brought that point up every argument and the response I always get is always: "They are turning left! Heck! Even I can do that!" And about the being fit part that's a good thing! You do definitely have to be fit to control those cars. It'd be like a basketball player or a football player being fit to do their sport.

Well no one I've talked to said nascar isn't a sport. You have to be fit to handle those stock cars. Trust me I would have a good point for people who would say that.

NASCAR you have a team, you have 43 different teams. Maybe I just have the friends and family that will argue with a person. sad

Arguing with people about wither or not NASCAR is a sport gets you nowhere. The people who think NASCAR isn't a sport are 100% of the time too arrogant to see past their own ego-inspired opinion to taky any kind of reason into account. The only way to make them look stupid is to sink to their level. Compare it to stick and ball sports. Hockey, baseball, football, basketball.
Hockey officials "frown" on fighting so much that they hand out 5 minute major penalties. Match penalties no less, so neither team is short-handed. Players are getting injured all the time in hockey fights, yet every fight makes the highlight reel, making goals and good plays a side dish.
In baseball, Barry Bonds and Alex Rodrigez shoots themselves up with steroids, hits a home run, and runs in a circle. Any retard with a broken foot could do that.
Football and basketball for me are in the same boat. A lot of the players in the NFL or NBA to me are the scum of the sports world. Charles Barklay has been arrested three times in the past, and Micheal Vick has been to jail for 18 months, for operating a dog fighting ring for 6 years, then gets a contract worth millions with the Philadelphia Eagles. What example does that set for kids? Vick's sentence was shorter than the time the criminal act was being committed.
Then there's NASCAR. Zero tolerance for drugs, high emphasis on safety, and just about everyone in the garage represents the working class in society. Every team busting their a** all week to keep the pit crews in shape, the driver in shape, and learning about racecars, and how to make em fast as hell.
Finally, two words. Carl Edwards. Nough said xd

I believe it was Ernest Hemingway who once said "Auto racing, bull fighting, and mountain climbing are the only real sports ... all others are games."
I couldn't agree more.

It's a different form of sport. It's a form of competition.

DEFINATLY A SPORT... lets see why:
1) u need muscle to control a 200mph car. 2) u need to not pee for 5 hours. ( i have don that before but no one cares...) 3) u have to be strong to take some of those hits and flips of the cars.
definate sport biggrin
