Here is a list of the creatable races and short descriptions of each:
The Enlightened Races
Humans--Noblest of the races, humans seem to dominate southern Palaise. Merwynth City, Valcrest, and Silverkeep were built by humans before the awareness of the other races of the continent.
Elves--Elves are well known for their attunement to nature and its thousands of species. They are a peaceful people, yet are powerful and resilient enough to defend themselves in times of war. Some had disagreed with their peoples' philosophical beliefs and fled to the Erimarsh Swamp, far from their home. Elves are about the same height as humans with long, protruding ears and moon-like marks on their foreheads.
Frost Centaurs--The Frost Centaurs are a peaceful people, much like the elves, who reside in the northernmost point of Palaise called Icemere Pointe. Several emissaries have traveled south to the more humanly populous areas, creating much controversy among the more common races. Though the Frost Centaurs are guarding well by their cliffs and mountains, they are almost completely helpless if attacked. Frost Centaurs are pale skinned humans above the waist, and frost-white horses below the waist. Most have white, gray, or silver hair, and those of royal blood are born with black markings around their eyes in the shape of a star. Frost Centaurs age much faster than normal beings, and are fully grown by about age five, and live to be up to 700 years old.
The Dark Races
Halfbloods--Halfbloods are an evolved race of elves and syrens with violent tendencies caused by genetic mutations. Most reside in Barrowdale living primitively. They are generally pale with medium-long ears like elves and glowing skin like syrens.
Syrens--Syrens are a female dominated race of hunters who are equally at home on land and in the water. Despite many rumors, Syrens are a silent people and communicate telepathically to one another, causing many problems with inter-racial socializations. They are extremely patient. Their skin is pale, sometimes almost transparent, which glows sometimes. Their eyes rarely open and they see with their minds instead. Syrens can live to be 9,000 years old.
Blood Eaters--Blood Eaters live in the northern parts of Palaise, stalking the overgrown forests and caves with their brethren. Several clans feud with one another and all are bloodthirsty and fearsome and quick to make war with any who pass. The clans include the Mulseaics, the Grateists, and the Pilsurasns. Blood eaters tend to look like humans, but their backs are hunched and their eyes droop. Their skin is several shades darker than a normal human and their hair is always black.
Rogue Elves--Rogue Elves were the Elves of the Comrade Rebellion. After driving the Elven population south to Merwynth City, they lived in Barrowdale until some thousand years later, they were attack by their vengeful descendants, the Halfbloods. Now they are rumored to live in the depths of Erimarsh Swamp.
