Long before the races of Palaise knew of each others' existence, lived a peaceful people called the Frost Centaurs. Each of them glistened with happiness as their unplanned utopia floated endlessly above the calm waters of the North Ocean atop Icemere Pointe. The community of the centaurs lived happily in an organized anarchy, where none ruled. All believed in a greater entity, one that had created them, then left them all to themselves, calmly and flawlessly. Everyone was content with how their world was run, until one woman, Odaki Sessha, birthed a strange son. He had the black markings of stars around his eyes, and as the Frost Centaurs were ice-colored white, they were alarmed. The boy was given special treatment as he grew older, given to the elders of the village to raise into the proper manner, in order to ward away the devil that was surely within him. They called him Menashu, Centauri for Possession. He grew to be a good boy, until his mother died of a mysterious illness, of which those of the village blamed him. He was shunned, but later returned with a fantastic story of hunched men with two legs and overgrown forests full of water that isn't full of ice every day. The people of Icemere were forced to believe him. One elder finally spoke up. "He is Lord's son!" He exclaimed. "He deserves to be the most honored of our people!" Those who were present agreed, and Menashu was given the title of Lord of the Frost Centaurs. He chose a wife and began a line of Lords with the same markings around their eyes, distinguishing them from the rest of the Frost Centaurs. Not once has a Lord birthed a daughter, nor more than one son, since.
