[23:52] oneoverthree: Something glinted in the light of the early sun. Azshara raised one paw to cover her eyes. Whatever it was it had blinded her for a moment just then. Once she'd recovered she shook her head before looking back out over the plains, carefully this time. She couldn't see it. Damnit! It had been so bright! Where could it possibly have gone?
[23:58] Tabs: Kadaj's bone mask covered his face as the edges of his maw curled with a twisted delight. As of yesterday... he was a free man. He left the Outlands, never to return... and things would be better this way, the pride was not the same as when he was young and without his father's rule he felt no reason to stay. Inside, he felt very pleased though it hardly showed. He expressions were covered, masked; Kadaj was now a lone hunter. This feeling, it was wonderful. With a slow stride the large red male searched the lands for a meal, his baby blues narrowing slowly; he felt his chest rumble, it was time for the hunt to start...

[00:01] oneoverthree: Azshara had no idea what she was in for as she made her way trough the tall grass. Whatever that flash of light had been it had really grabbed her attention. Now she was determined to find it and well, curiosity killed the cat makes no allowances for size. She would have been most impressed if it had been something she could take home as a meal, though even in her wildest thoughts she couldn't justify how that made sense. Still. She had her sister's litter to mind, and it was hard hunting meals for so many little mouths.
[00:04] Tabs: As soon as the female came into his sight Kadaj's ears lowered with slight anger. His last run in with a female ended poorly, she had attacked him, so he attacked back... it, it did not end well. With a deep sigh the masked male tip toed along, maybe if he crept she would keep on walking without noticing him? He just had no time for another fight, not when his stomach was lusting for a meal.

[00:13] Tabs: Kadaj rose, his large frame still, cold. He huffed from under his mask and spoke out in a rather harsh tone. "You own nothing of this land." As he spoke he moved around her slowly, his tail whipping from side to side. "I'm not looking to click claws, but if you are looking for skin and tooth I will make it a point to win." He didn't want to fight, rather forget this whole mess.
[00:18] oneoverthree: "I'm defending my family," she said, circling him so he couldn't get up behind her, "nothing more. Show me I can trust you and I'll be content to let you go."
Maybe she was smaller, but if she thought for a moment that he was going to hurt any one of her siblings then he had a surprise coming. The lioness was no more then average size but was still quite the firecracker. She had to be.
"It's your choice," really though, she didn't want to fight either. Not a male like this.

[00:23] Tabs: "Family." He repeated her and moved back some, he understood her reactions now, he no longer needed to huff and puff. "I understand." He nodded and sat back, the scars on his face wrinkled as he sniffed the air. She had little ones to protect. "I am just looking for a meal, I also have family that needs some care." It was true. He had two siblings he was still looking after back at the base. "Kadaj is my name, and I mean you no harm."

"If it's not too intrusive of me, may I suggest an alliance then? We both need to feed our families and if we worked together we may be able to bring down something far larger then we could working alone."
Something large enough to feed both families in one go. It would be much better then the smaller game she was usually forced to chase.
[00:36] Tabs: "I'd agree to that, for one night." He nodded and stood up, his dark mane twirling in the wind. He loved the rush a hunt brought him, and with her at his side, they would be able to take down a large animal, he smirked at the thought of a female helping him do anything, he was... not use to that.

[00:39] oneoverthree: "Then I believe we have a truce," she gave him a warm smile as she spoke. A male like this... his sheer size would be a huge advantage to her on the hunt.
"There's a herd of zebra nearby. I found their trail earlier but I bypassed them. Too big for a lone lioness. It was fresh though. If we could catch up with them without even breaking a sweat."
A zebra. That was truly the ideal prey in their situation.
[00:42] Tabs: "With pleasure." He chuckled and took to trot, motioning for her to follow. He spoke out as he padded along. "Lead the way; I will come from behind if you help turn one my way." He knew if she could get one to run at him, this hunt would be over quickly.

[00:45] oneoverthree: She grinned and headed off, speeding toward where she was sure the zebra were grazing. Soon enough, they could see their white and black pelts in the distance.
"There!" She called back to him, grinning. "Find somewhere to hide, I'll pick out the biggest of the lot and send him your way!"
It was a big boast and not one she really planned on following through with. She'd separate one, whichever one she could. That would be enough.
[00:48] Tabs: Kadaj nodded and rolled into the tallgrarss, where he removed his mask and curled close to the earth below, as if awaiting her mark, he was itching to have his claws covered in blood, as strange as it was, this was the best high for the now ex prince. His face was coved him a few large scars, they were long and pale in tone, old it seemed, perhaps from cubhood? He held still for her, waiting.

[00:54] oneoverthree: Stalking through the tall grass in the opposite direction she didn't see him unmask himself. Keeping low in the grass she crept along, moving as fast as she could without startling her mark. There, off to the side, one zebra was lagging behind the herd. It was this single antisocial animal that she targeted.
Once she thought she was in place she checked her mental marker, hedging her bets on the direction the frightened zebra would bolt when she broke from hiding. A deep breath. Yes, from here, running in that direction. This was her best bet.
Roaring, she charged forward.
[01:02] Tabs: Kadaj was ready, he could feel the heat build up inside as she charged at a zebra, pushing it back his way. With a roar of his own the red male jumped out from his hiding place, snarling darkly as he took to a dash, turning as the zebra titled to the side-- but it was too late, Kadaj was on it's tail before it could run away. Large claws clipped into it's skin like nails in leather, and within seconds it went down, Kadaj on it's side, bitting into it's neck harshly.
