Another day of venturing found Quidal, a fiery mare, in the clearing rather close to the beach, but she didn't know it. She had just decided to follow the stream by her home until she reached somewhere she hadn't been to before. But, she got bored of that rather quickly and wandered away from the river and was slowly walking in the direction of the forest, hoping there was some lands she hasn't been to on the other side of it.
"This is so boring!" The mare groused to herself. She needed something to do, something exciting! Or, at least, someone to talk with as she walked... that would be nice.

Venombane was slowly following Edgar who stole his hat again for what reason he knew not why. He only knew this pest has been following him ever since they stumbled on one another. And for some reason the bat was fascinated with his hat. Well what ever reasons were Venombane was tired of running around after him because of the hat. It was day and soon the pest will get tired and come back to sleep on his head under the hat. Venombane wasn't happy about it but he got used to it already since he tried all he knew to chase the bat away and nothing worked. He was even determined to leave his hat behind but the bat would always seem to find him on some sick twisted way he couldn't understand. So he was stuck with it. And even he didn't like him too much he still named him Edgar. For what reason he didn't know why but at least he wasn't alone anymore. Edgar was enjoying in one more of his flights with Venombanes hat but he grew bored really quickly seeing that his companion didn't pay much attention to him. And anyway it was about time he went to sleep. He was preparing to turn back when he spotted mare not far away from him. And it was fine looking one. Something his master would like to inspect but he wouldn't be wiling to follow him. So Edgar, knowing how much Venombane loves his hat, decided to drop it of close to mare. That way his master just had to go the way Edgar wanted him to go. Coming close Edgar dropped the hat of so it fell right in from of the mare.

The sound of flapping in the distance caught her attention. Looking up in the direction it was coming from, she could only see a small speck in the sky at first, but as it got closer she could start making out a form. Tilting her head, she turned and started to walk toward the animal fluttering about.
Getting even closer, she could now put the thought of it being a bird, safely out of her mind. But... what other things besides birds flew? Oh yeah, bats could also fly, that coming to her recollection now that she caught a better glimpse of the one heading toward her. This bat seemed to be holding something in its feet. Wondering what it was, she squinted to catch a better look, but by the time she got a better look, it was dropped in front of her. Watching it drop, she saw that the object seemed to be, something she didn't know what it was. It looked slightly familiar, but she couldn't place the name.
Finally, Quidal returned her attention to the bat. Was the hat was a gift? But she wasn't going to ask. The mare figured that it was starting to get late in the bat's turning point, so let it be on it's way. With that, she lowered her head to sniff curiously at the object in front of her. "I guess all I have to do is wait and see what happens next."

Venombane was glad when he saw Edgar returning only to realize to his horror that bat no longer had his hat.
'' You little pest! ''
This was not how he imagined his day to begin. Well there was nothing else he could do than to hurry in the same direction the bat came from in hope he would be able to find his poor hat.
And so he did manage to see his hat from the distance along with a mare that was examining it. If there was something he hated the most it was when others would touch his belongings. And that mare was just doing one thing he hated the most. Laying his ears back and lowering his head a bit he proceeded to meet this not so smart female. And to his luck she was turned to him with her back so his surprise tactic would have best effect.
When he sneaked close enough form her back he spoke up with not so friendly tone.
'' What do you think you are doing with that hat? ''

She sniffed at the object a bit longer. She caught a small scent of the bat that dropped it in front of her, but she also found the trace of another smell, probably the thing's owner. Just as she was about to lift her head to look around, a voice sounded behind her, causing her to eep and jump slightly.
Stumbling some, she turned around to face the larger stallion. "Oh... is that what it's called? A hat? Is it yours?" She asked, tilting her head. "I was just checking it out! A bat dropped it off a few minutes ago and I didn't know what it was." She told him, her general fear long gone, now being replaced with happiness to have someone to talk to now.

Venombane was happy with the effect he had on the mare. After all she had no right to sniff on his hat.
'' Yes it is! ''
And what was that smile on her face. He smirked in effort to show his fangs. That for sure will wipe a smile from her face. His things were never to be touched by anyone. And he enjoined scaring others. It made him feel... stronger.
With his ears still down Venombane came close to the hat and grabbing it with his mouth tossed it in the air. Yes he was planing to look like some hot shot. And while his hat did fall on his head like he planed it didn't turn right. So now he had his hat upside down with it's top side on his head and inner side looking at the sky.
Yea he knew he just made himself look silly.
'' Don't you dare lough... ''

This stallion was so interesting! That's all that was running through the mare's head. She didn't even realize that he had confirmed that the odd thing she was previously checking out was his. He even seemed to have something around his neck like she did! Did that mean something? She questioned to herself as she looked to her collar. The fiery mare looked to it a bit longer before realizing that he was still there.
Looking back to him, still smiling, she was about to apologize for zoning out when he revealed his fangs. The smile on her face did disappear, only to soon be replaced by a look of awe. Hopping closer to him, she tried to get a better look. "Oh cool! What are those?!"
When the stallion moved, she shifted herself out of his way. Quidal just watched as he went to his hat and tossed it into the air. She continued to watch in awe when it landed on his head, but... something didn't seem right. Seeing that it didn't land the way he wanted it to, she started to giggle. Hearing him tell her not to laugh, she stifled herself. "I'm sorry, it's just funny! Y-you want me to help you fix it?" She asked, stammering briefly when a small giggle escaped from her.

That was it. Venombane knew that from now on he couldn't do anything to look dangerous and scary. With annoyed look on his face he shifted only his eyes to better see the mare giggling. It must have been nice for her to have a reason to be amused by his little accident. Still it seemed that mare did not have too much knowledge of hats so he decided to use this as at his advantage.
'' No I do not need 'your' help. As a matter of fact this is how it should be worn. ''

Quidal had upset him. She wasn't aware of this fact, otherwise she would have apologized more. Instead, she tried her best to stop herself from giggling. Once she gotten her snickering under control, the fiery mare moved, so she was in front of him to look to him fact to face. Smiling warmly at him, she tilted her head slightly when he refused her help.
"Are you sure you don't want me to help? I may not know much about that hat, but it still doesn't seem like that's the right way."

Venombane lifted her left eyebrow. Mares reactions confused him. It seemed nothing he did scared her bat rather amused. Why was it that way? He thought for a moment a problem was in him but he discarded it quickly. He looked and acted scary enough and today he was in very scary mood.
'' No I prefer it this way. ''
He made a circle around a mare to try and find something that would explain why she acted this way. But no matter how much he searched he couldn't find anything.
'' Well than. ''
'' I better be on my way. ''
He turned his back to the mare and started to walk away. He turned around few times stopping for few moments to look at the mare again. She was just enigma for him.

Quidal watched him silently, still smiling warmly, finally having been able to quell her snickering. AT his saying that he would rather wear his hat in the way it was currently was, she shrugged slightly. "Okay, if you say so!"
When he circled her, she blinked a bit and tilted her head curiously at him. What was he doing? Was there something on her? Or was this some ritual she didn't know about? Whatever the reason, she wouldn't get the chance to ask about it as he announced that he will be leaving before turning and walking off. This caused her to frown. They barely got to hang out. So, watching him stop some distance away, she quickly ran up to him.
"Hey... wait!"

'' I don't remember I asked you to follow me. ''
Venombane looked at mare with disapproval on his face. He just hasn't got time to babysit. Specially a strange mare like this one. With few skilled moves with his head Venombane managed to adjust his hat the way it was supposed to be placed on his head.
'' Haven't you got something better to do? ''
Venombane hurried up trying to put some distance between himself and the mare. Perhaps she will fall behind once she gets tired from fast walking while trying to keep up.

Quidal's ears flattened some when he seemed to have dismissed her. A hoof dug into the ground slightly, biting her bottom lip softly. "I'm sorry. I didn't really mean to bother you. I just hoped we could hang out more. I mean, you're so interesting!" She replied, watching him fix his hat after some time.
At his question, she shook her head. "No! In fact, I'm quite bored." She admitted, quickly following after him when he walked off. When he seemed to speed up, she galloped lightly beside him, quite happy about it too.

Venombane looked at the mare from the corner of his eye. Usually he would get rid of those he didn't find interesting enough but this mare was persistent. He wondered what was so interesting on him to that mare so he could get rid of it.
'' Go home already. ''
Seeing that mare wasn't planing to give him peace that easy he cursed his bat for getting him into this mess. If only he could catch him he would give him piece of his mind.

The mare continued to trot beside the stallion. She could keep up with him for some time, having always enjoyed going out and running almost every day. So, as she ran, she smiled at him, but... that smile soon changed when he told her to go home. Was he really that bland that he didn't want to do anything fun or something? She didn't really want to say that, but she was thinking it. Instead, she replied, "I don't have a 'home' to return to. I come and go wherever and sleep wherever I please."
