Another day, another smoke. As Ahote lay flat on his back atop a smooth rock, the smell of pot was made evident as he smoked it, sighing contentedly. It always relaxed him when he was too stressed out during the day. It was a gift from his Mother and he'd always be greatful for it. His tail swished and a thought crossed his mind that made him grin. He must look the sight. Laying bent over backward on a medium sized rock smoking a joint. A laugh escaped him.

Aranei sighed, hissing as the sun hung overhead, casting light into the cave she shared with her family. She wanted out. Gods she wanted out. But as long as that damned sun invaded her space she had to stay in.
Musing, she twisted her head around to note that Arei was gone and Lin was sleeping near the base of the cave with Hel and Corin in tow. Well, if she wanted out now was the best time. Lin wouldn't go near the sun, and Arei wouldn't come back until the sun was down. Taking a look back, she managed a sigh, she supposed she needed to get over her fear of the wretched burning orb, maybe then she could make a note that she wasn't exactly like her mothers...
So.. taking a deep breath, she stumbled out into the blinding light, one paw over her brows as she tried to slink as quickly as she could to the next shaded spot.

Feeling a kink starting to work it's way into his back, Ahote sat up and stretched, nearly falling forward off the rock. He'd been laying on the same spot all day...it was about time he did something else. With a grunt he got off the rock and began padding for a shady spot, feeling too hot now from the sun.
"Man...I coulda' got a sun burn. That would hurt..." Rolls his eyes for no apparent reason and sits down, feeling a bit light headed from all the smoking he'd done. He loved this feeling, but it was dangerous to walk or talk in the state.

Hissing at the sun, Aranei bounded off into the nearest shade she could find, a large thick oak that thankfully blocked the horrid rays from her pelt. She then immediately went to licking the fur, trying to clean it from any contamination that might have happened to it. "Damn burning thing. Curses to you!" She shouted at it, sticking out her tongue before shielding her eyes from a burst that had worked its way through some leaves.

Tilts his head as he focuses on a lioness in the shade. The way she hissed at the sun and cursed it made him laugh. He topples over to his back, still watching her as his laugh slows to a chuckle. "Mad at the sun eh? It can't bite ya know."

Growling, "Doesn't bite! No, it does much worse." Slinking behind a tree, she let herself catch her breath now that she was out of the sun. Once her breathing evened, she glanced up toward the male whom seemed about her age, maybe a little older. "And how can you be so calm in it? Its horrid!"

Grins as she speaks to him. Well more like shouting, but he couldn't care less at this point. Sitting up he took another smoke, then let his long tongue loll out of his mouth, tired of holding it in. "Because it's warm and make me feel comfy. I'm not scared of it like you obviously are." Stretches a bit. "I'm Ahote by the way."

Aranei stared at him for a moment, narrowing her eyes. "You're weird... how can you enjoy it when it burns your fur... and makes you hot... and fevered." Her whole body shivered at the thought, staying as far into the shade of the tree as she could. "I'm Aranei..."

He stretched then, feeling rather mellow for the moment unlike how he usually was. Then again he got his mellow side from his Grandma..."Heh...I just move if it gets a little too warm. I don't stay out if it burns me." Grins a bit hearing the name, tossing it over in his mind before replying. "Nice name."

"I'm named after a spider." Her eyes winced when she tried to see through the glare of the sun. "It always burns. Its evil. I don't understand how anyone would want to be in it. Even my mothers hate the sunlight. I've never met a lion who likes it... until now..." She mused, not understanding this male.

"Then you don't get out much." Was his simple reply as he stood and padded over to her, purposfully walking through beams of sunlight until he sat in the shade she was in, though giving her space. "Two moms eh? That's pretty cool. My dad's a swamp monster and my mom's a pot hippie." Grins as he offers the joint to her in a friendly manner. "Want some?"

Aranei tilted her head when the joint was offered to her. She sniffed it, coughing slightly as she shook her head, "What is it?" Swishing her tail back and forth, she was a lot more at ease now that he had come into the shade. "One of my mothers is a spider lion... and the other is a shadow lion."

Ahote chuckles watching her reaction to the joint, taking it back when it's obvious she won't try it. "It's called pot. Or a joint. If you smoke it enough you get this buzz that makes you feel so good...like nothing can bother you..." Shrugs his shoulders as he lays it next to him, then relaxes. "Spider and shadow hmm? Then it makes sense you don't like sunlight. I don't expect a shadow would like it much..."

"A buzz? Like a bumblebee?" Giving a confused look, she tilted her head to the side to try and understand. "It smells bad... doesn't smell like honey to me." She gave a slight shrug, "We don't like sun... but shadows still need it to survive."
