What are your thoughts on extreme fashion? Is it a facade, or is it an artistic expression? Is it easier to be in a group or be categorized if you are a specific fashion? What's your favorite or most hated fashion statement and why? What are some things you would like to clarify about the fashion type that you love or the styles that you hate?

IMO:
If you're talking about regular fashion, I don't have a problem with it, per se. I myself like to be somewhat fashionable, at the least the way I like it. But if you're talking about the fashion world (the business, the clothing, e.t.c.), I despise it. The people who go into those kind of things are usually mean and superficial - not my kind of people. I think it could easily be a facade and/or expression. A lot of people who "dress fashionably" aren't "real." In other words, sometimes people get into fashion because they want to be popular and liked by other people. As a result, they bury the person they should have been all along, whoever that is, and become someone they don't really want to be. But I think a lot of people also get into fashion because it's what they truly do like. It's what they're passionate about. It's another way to show people who you are - by what you wear. You're saying, "This is what I like. This is how I am."
One thing I know I will never understand is some people's obsession with fashion. There are about a thousand other more important things you could be doing in life, and I personally would never want to use up my minutes worrying about something like fashion. Mind you, I'm talking about obsession here. I don't think there's anything wrong with spending a lot of time dressing up or doing your hair in the bathroom. What confuses me is when a person throws a fit if a single strand of hair comes loose, or that they don't have any sweaters that match their hat, e.t.c.

I dislike people who are extremely centered around how they look because they come off as arrogant or naive or something, but extreme fashion can simply be fun and kind of a hobby (especially if you design your own clothing) I would say that whether it is facade or artistic expression depends on the wearer's perspective and thoughts rather than the fashion itself.
