So recently I have been pitching my new idea across the net and to various nascar shows..about how that nascar should implement a cherry-picking rule. My new rule would be that no driver can compete in more than 50 top tier nascar races in a year. This is set for the cup, nationwide, and trucks. The reason is due to the lack of funding and driver development coming from the later series. with cup guys only allowed an extra 14 races a year..then the points would be on them, the sponsors would move about, and also more different cup guys would be entered in... hey lol you could see G.I. Joe or the Buck Eye in the 11 CJM ride or the 10 Braun ride. plus I feel that the nationwide series needs a change... something has to rid of this bushwacking phenomenon. So far Chocolate Meyers and Clare B. Lang have liked it, Buddy Baker is so so along with Moody and Rick Wren. Pete Pistone, Randy Lajoie and a slew of Kyle Busch fans don't like it... crying ... What do you guys think?

I like it it would make for better Nationwide championship racing, better than having something that should be a Cup Series Championship (aka Carl Edwards vs. Clint Bowyer or Carl Edwards vs. Kyle Busch). The cup guys had their time in the Nationwide series, they should be limited on how many Nationwide races they run so they can let the new guys have some spotlight.

What my point is though is that after you move up to the Cup Series, you should be limited on the lower division level races you compete in. It's completely fair to guys like Justin Allgiar or Michael Annett or guys of that nature to prove that they have skills to drive in a NASCAR division without all the hubla of the Cup guys running around taking all the credit. I'd rather see Mike Bliss and Jason Keller fighting for the Nationwide Cup rather than see Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch running for the Nationwide Cup when they can attempt to do that in the Cup Series. I SAY GIVE THE NATIONWIDE DRIVERS THE GLORY THEY DESERVE!!! Ok I'm done biggrin

Ok I'm done biggrin well see see nascar top three sires can be in alot of them. but, kyle can't drive in arca because hes a full time cup guy. because he would love to race 66 times in one week. just get over it. to be in nascar u gotta beat the best in nascar. in one race 43 drivers can win depends. money ect. just find better people. put kyle in a poorly car he willl win in it.

Well limiting how many races a cup guy runs in the Nationwide series would be nice so the Nationwide guys can shine a bit more. My parents and I've have been complaining about that for the past few years. It's like my mom is saying now, it's like taking a guy from the major league baseball and telling him he can play in the minors. Well that's at least what my mom says. I know there are some tracks that the cup guys don't race, like Gateway so it is understandable for some of these races, but no cup driver should run full time in the nationwide series.

Not quite true; Players will play for the team to which they are assigned for the duration of that season unless they are "called up," promoted to a higher level; "sent down," demoted to a lower class team in the major league club's farm system; or "released" from the farm system entirely. You can't play both at once. Think about if a major league pitcher got injured playing in a minor league game and was out for weeks. When was the last time you heard about something like that happening? The media makes a big deal of it when it happens in NASCAR, It would be huge if it happened in baseball. I agree with the limited number of races. Bolt is against it because it limits how many times Kyle could win in a season. wink

I'm all for limiting drivers. 50 races per season, regardless of the level they're at, would only allow a driver to run a full season in only one series. Doing this would not only keep cup drivers from stealing all the glory in the truck and Nationwide series, but forcing teams into driver development mode would make clawing your way into the cup series that much more competative.
Look back at David Gilliland. Without his win at Kentucky over Matt Kenseth in 2006 with an underfunded car, his name never would have made it to Robert Yates, and his career would probably have faded into nothingness. Today, David Gilliland has driven for many cup teams. Robert Yates #38 for two and a half years, Robby Gordon's #7 for a race or two, TRG Motorsports #71 for the majority of 2009, and Joe Gibbs Racing in the #02 research and developement team a few times in 2009. For a driver with a career as young as David, and the tough economic times, I'd say that's a pretty impressive resume to be getting calls from so many car owners to drive their cars.
Now if cup drivers were limited to 50 races a season, I'll bet there'd be races with no Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Jeff Burton, Joey Logano, the David Gillilands of the Nationwide series and Camping World Truck series would suddenly be the stars of the show, and they'd be able to prove to car owners and sponsors what they can do in good equipment.
