Shy's Papa, at present, was in no state to go anywhere. And Nero, being very small and having never experienced Christmas before, was to be left out of all Christmas shopping. Shy hadn't had a Christmas before either but had found out rather easily all of the secrets behind it, and, as such, was going to just go with his father and buy presents just the same.
However, because it was a rather lonely task to do alone, he'd called up his best friend to tag along too. Waiting for Taylor to pick up was an almost nerve wracking experience. But Shy wasn't the sort who'd just back down at such a task.

" Hello?" There was cheer and curiosity on the other end of the line. Taylor never glanced at call display before picking up the phone. In his mind it spoiled the surprise plus he knew full well he wouldn't answer the phone in an acceptably polite tone if he knew beforehand it was telemarketers and religious people.

"Oh hi Shylock, not much, I was helping Penny make cookies earlier but she banished me from the kitchen." The nearly teen aged boy snorted, it wasn't like he'd eaten that much dough there's been at least a tray of cookies worth left. Regardless the green scaled boy now sat on the living room couch recording multiple shows on the DVR for later. " I don't really have another other plans except maybe riding to the comic shop later to check out the new shipment."

"Well see, Dad and I were going out and wanted to know if you wanted to come along." The other boy inquired, trying to mask the excitement at the fact that his friend was free. Yes! That meant Taylor could probably go!

" Go where?" Taylor liked visiting and hanging out with Shylock but the pride spawn could be lazy at times or moreover unmotivated to move if he didn't think it was worth it. Some places were just plain boring or made him uncomfortable.

Shy coughed a bit and whispered, "Christmas shopping." the tone was hushed and said into the phone while checking to make sure baby brother couldn't hear.

" Why are you whispering?" Taylor asked automatically lowering his voice in response.
Fortunately for Shylock, Nero was fast asleep in his room and under enough water to distort even a shout.

"Cause I don't want Nero to hear me." the other boy explained continuing to whisper, "He's not supposed to know that Daddy and I are getting the presents. And we don't want Papa to know either since he'll feel left out since he can't come."

Ohh well that made sense, sort of anyways " How come your papa can't come?" Last Taylor had seen the angel could still walk aroudn despite being glowy and fat. The little brother thing totally made sense to him though, after all Mareike had tried never to spoil holidays for him before he was too old to believe in them.

"He's sorta close to due and he can't really walk much anymore." Shy explained, "He gets tired too easy and if he gets hurt it'll be bad for the baby."

Taylor nodded before realizing Shylock couldn't see that " Oh, okay then well sure just come get me and we can go." It sounded fun enough and he did have money to spend at the moment.

"Awesome." Shy said. "We'll be over soon." the boy assured him.
After a short wait, the boy and his father arrived to pick up Taylor. The green haired boy grinned as his friend hopped in the car. "Hey Tay!" the boy said, seated in the back to be with his friend.

Taylor grinned as he got comfy while being careful to keep his tail spikes and claws from damaging anything in the car, for now at least his shoulder ones were of no danger to anything. The slightly older boy leaned over to sort of man hug/ playfully shove his friend. " Hey, so you think you can help me figure out what to get for people." It was becoming more and more apparent to Taylor that he didn't necessarily think on the same level as other people. What he thought might be good gifts for people they might think were just weird. Shylock at least was someone to sound his ideas off of.
