What are you all currently reading? Is it a manga you just picked up or a series that you love? Have you been reading novels? Are you stuck reading textbook after textbook while staring wistfully at a pile of pleasurable reading? Or perhaps you just don't read.
Share what you're reading now (manga, novels, etc.) and if you're enjoying it. (why/why not?) Tell us who your favorite author(s) is/are and why.
RULES I think it's important to post this here so we don't get any arguments going. I'm a liturature snob/nazi and I imagine I'm not the only one out there so I want to keep it to a minimum. 1. No book/author bashing. No one wants to hear about how much you hate ____ and why someone else is wrong for liking them. 2. Keep it friendly. You can say you dislike a certain author/book, but be nice about it.

Let's start things off! I unfortunately have been unable to read manga for a while. I haven't had the money to buy them. Manga: I'm currently waiting for V.B. Rose 6 to come out. It's been a year since the release date and I still haven't seen it, so super sad. I recently finished reading Kitchen Princess which was a fun series. I love to cook so it was fun to find a cooking manga! (the author didn't cook and shared her adventures in learning to cook through the series!)
Novels: I'm working my way through the Dark is Rising series right now. I read them as a child, but that was years ago. I got them for my birthday so I've been getting through those. They're interesting stories. They draw me in the same way that Diana Wynn Jones novels do. (LOVE her!)
Textbooks: I don't have a lot of standard textbooks. Mostly just general info books that are written by famous therapists (Fritz Perls, Minuchen, etc.) I've been forced to read those. They're terrible. They're dull and bland and reading them is about as enjoyable as eating a slab of cardboard. I respect them as talented therapists, but they were terrible writers.

Manga: Currently into Bokutatchi wa Shitte Shimatta (We Experienced the Affair) by Kaho Miyasaka because I loved her most recent work (Kare First Love) and wanted to read more of what she's got. It's a typical high school-dating-life-issues shoujo. It's not as strong as Kare First Love, and I see a pattern of similar story line, but I figure I'll just finish it since I started it. Also working on Soul Eater, but I've only got the first manga. Seriously love the series because it's so different and action packed. Totally recommend it.
Novels: Currently nothing but I'm thinking about trying to read the Alchemist by Scott something...forgot his name. And possibly thinking about re-reading the Twilight series because of just watching New Moon.
Textbooks: LOL. Access and Powerpoint 2007 for both my classes. And surprisingly enough I never realized how complicated Powerpoint can be when you want to make a freaking awesome presentation. LOL.

This crazy thing just happened! It posted me above your post Mugoi! I took a screencap to prove it!This is what my post said.... For me it depends on what novel it is. I saw someone on th ebus the other day with the book Blood Meridian so I sort of want to see what that's about because he was wearing chef's clothes and looked strikingly similar to my OC character. I need an interesting, easy read for four 5 1/2 hour plane trips. (To Boston, Two returning from Boston) this Christmas. Maybe a good feeling book would be good. I usually read mysteries or suspense or...foreign stuff... but a Christmasy themed book would be good. There is a short story in Chicken Soup for the...kids...or...orteenage... soul book that has to do with an old man and a dog on Christmas. I really like it... Wish I could remember which of my old books it was in though. I've been watching Clean House a lot lately and I want to have a yard sale of all of my old books. xD They're all just sitting up in boxes in my attic, waiting to be destroyed by some unfathomable enemy. My manga are safe in my closet. ;3

Hopefully this post won't go before anyone's!
I honestly haven't been doing much reading lately. Most of the reading I do do is for school but I heart manga as well as novels. I don't tend to read novels except for during summer, since it is a good way to unwind after work and cool off.
Manga is good for anytime!

Manga The Wallflower, MAR and Kami no Shizuku. The Wallflower is very fun and I am enjoying the other two but haven't read enough to give a proper opinion yet ^_^ Book Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King <3 and maybe restart Harry Potter 7 =D Textbooks/Forced to Read For English class: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night time - AWFUL!!!! For Theatre: The Day in the Death of Joe Egg. Interesting script but I hate most of the characters.

What is it that you don't like about it? (I actually read it for pleasure a few years ago on my mom's recommendation.)
