Bogus. It was all totally ******** bogus!! First she'd had that horrific nightmare about Fluffy and Khal, and then she'd woken up with her hair dyed, coated in about ten layers of whorish makeup, and strapped to the wall of the boys' bathroom! She had absolutely no doubt that Ursula was somehow behind it all, and Audrey was absolutely furious. Bright pink hair? REALLY NOW.

At least she could possibly get something useful out of it. Drew, the gym teacher who was generally in charge of detentions, was also know as Obsidian. Audrey remembered him somewhat fondly as a generally acerbic conversationalist with a savage inner self that just barely peeked out. Stalking into the gym office, eyes like fiery daggers, she schlepped her bag into a corner and folded her arms.

"If you're going to try and make me run laps, I'm not doing it."

You know, he'd heard about what Ursula had been up to, but had been too focused on making sure Khaldun was comfortable to get a good look for himself. When the young girl all but stormed into his office, both brows raised as he looked her up and down, resisting the urge to crack a grin. "Like the hair." He offered innocently enough, thoughtfully rolling her sulky statement over as though he was really going to consider it.

'Too ******** bad' was the first thing that sprang to mind, but inspiration struck. He was bored as hell being stuck in this school himself, really... So why not force her to kick those little legs while he got a chance to stretch his?

"How about jumping laps?" He offered idly, a hand propped under his chin as he watched her with lazy amusement. They'd found Jude's body this morning, after yanking Khal down from the flagpole. He was in a good mood.

There were high hopes for Obsidian as a person. Of course, he was rumored to have associated with Nealite in a highly undesirable fashion, but this was immaterial. In the past. However, at the mention of her hair, Audrey simply snorted and jerked her head so that the vibrant neon colors rippled. "It's hideous. Makes me look like some kind of Frankie fantasy, I should glitter in the sun or something. Or be on crack."

At the idea of jumping laps, her eyes cooled and eyebrows quirked. She was highly intrigued, and propped her hip on his desk in encouragement. "Jump laps? What, you mean as Linarite?" It had been absolute ages since she'd run about the city in her Negaform, and she missed the feeling dearly. Detention might not be so bad, if she could do that again.

"I'm interested."

"The wannabe vampire?" Who hadn't heard of her? Chuckling now, the man stretched and pushed himself to his feet, beginning to idly pace. "Well, with luck, a few good washes will help make it less dramatic. Without luck, you're stuck with it unless you shave yourself bald." And wouldn't Nea love that? Self-absorbed woman, truly. Rolling his shoulders, he glanced at the younger girl, judging the way her face seemed to smooth out some.

"Mhm. Not gonna do you any ********' good if you don't trust your own feet. Figure you could use the practice, get a little quicker and better with timing." Basically, it would be a training session--and give him the chance to see what the hell little Miss Strategy could really do.

"Better be. It's that, or laps." Drew offered with a grin.

Shuddering, Audrey gathered a large chunk of hair into her hands and cuddled it lovingly. "Thankfully, it seems like it's already paling a bit. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but as soon as I can get off campus to meet a friend he'll help me dye it back. There will be NO shaving!" The b***h would LOVE that, wouldn't she? Probably would offer to polish the god damn bald spots, and then possibly write her name on the back of the teen's head. No, that would never happen.

"Definitely would love to get faster. Some of the senshi are slow, but when you're dodging several attacks, you have to know your feet. You boys are lucky, I have to do this in heeled boots!" Which seemed to be a popular stereotype with female warriors of any kind. Except Xena. Xena was lucky enough to live in a time before stiletto heels.

Eager, Audrey opened the office door and beamed at Drew. "Ready when you are sir."

"It's my birthday, you know." The man mused aloud with a thoughtful roll of his shoulders even as he swept out the door, glancing back at her from the corner of his eye. "And hey, none of that; some of the so called boys Charonite's been recruiting, well. Looks like they wouldn't mind a pair of heeled boots, if you know what I mean."

Unless Audrey had something drastic to do, Drew would lead her outside and they'd both transform to their stronger, faster alter-egos, dashing out of the lifeless atmosphere of Barren Pines. One of the more shady spots of the city was a fine and suitable place for practice; people were too busy sticking to the shadows to risk glancing up and potentially spotting the two lieutenants.

"Right. Now go on, hope around a bit. Need to see what the hell I'm working with." He gestured idly, tugging a spare baseball free from the space... where he apparently had been storing it. Charonite was sure to be pleased f he went to look at his star seed collection of sorts and found a bunch of baseballs instead.

He'd never know the difference, right?

Blinking, Audrey looked up at her new training partner. "Your birthday? Happy birthday." Mentally, the girl made a note that when she got out of this, she'd hit the local store for a card. Did they make cards for evil birthdays? Well, there was probably something with a large pair of boobs on it. All boys liked big boobs.

Tossing this thought into her mental backpack, she phased into what was referred to as the 'Linarite mindset'. All business, no bullshit. Well. Some bullshit, but not much! On the run over, there hadn't been much to it. Jumping across close rooftops at top speed was something done for fun. But actual acrobatics? Not so much.

Thankfully, the glamor that affected them in normal situations seemed to spread to temporary dye. Once again, Linarite's hair was that sapphire hue that she loved so very much. "Here goes nothing." Tucking it back behind her ears in a serious motion, the teen took off across the buildings. With lithe movements, she threw her body from roof to roof, zigzagging wildly as fast as she could across the largest distances she dared.

And she was off like a shot, leaving Obsidian to watch with somewhat narrowed eyes as she zipped about. Good speed, and she clearly wasn't afraid to take risks, which was probably the most important thing. He had little patience for pussies; this was the goddamn Negaverse. Still, he noted things that would help her in the long run--and could make a vital difference if she was hot on the trail of a fleeing senshi.

"All right!" He bellowed after the now-bluenette, leaping after her quickly and skidding to a halt on the roof she paused on. "Not bad for a so-called strategist." Obsidian said first with a grin, not forgetting their first meeting. "Bend your knees more when you kick off, gives you a bit more of a boost when you launch yourself and lets you gain more ground. You're plenty agile. Bad comes to worse, chuck those ******** heels and go for it, they aren't doing you any favors."

Now the baseball was being tossed idly in hand, and he was grinning at her in a way that should have maybe made her a bit nervous. "Now. I'm gonna chuck this baseball, and it's your job to see if you can either outrace or at least keep up with it. Anything goes, as far as direction. You ready?" He was kind enough to ask, today.

Now there was a suggestion! "The heels might actually do more damage than my lameass weapon." Speculatively, she eyed the baseball and then thought hard. "I don't have to catch it, do I?" Catching wasn't her strong suit. Of course, now that she said something, that was probably exactly what she was going to attempt.

Oh well, it was called training for a REASON! Without waiting for an answer, Lina took off again, trying to remember to push off with her knees, and subsequently nearly doing a midair flip as she put too much pressure behind her leap. The landing was messy, and drove her to her knees, scraping the tights she wore beneath the uniformed dress.

Where was that damn ball?
PostPosted: Wed Nov 25, 2009 3:12 pm

No, she didn't have to catch it. Brownie points if she did! But before he could relay as much, she was off, and he was rearing back to throw the ball as hard as he could. They'd start off slow at first; the ball was angled just a bit from where she was currently. She might have to hop a little, but it was mostly just a matter of speed and outstripping the thing.

If she couldn't do that, they'd have a hell of a lot to work on.

As the white ball whizzed over her head, Linarite was off and running again, vaulting over the pipe just barely in time to avoid a broken nose and what was probably a mild concussion. It slowly arced downwards, and she tried so very hard to stay within distance of it. It was her goal, and her pride, to try and get just outside the reach of the baseball. Catching it might be impossible, but at least she could follow a moving target!

In the end, she was more than twenty feet off her mark, and it almost fell to the streets below, had it not grazed the edge of the roof and bounced to roll along the cement. Retrieving it like a faithful pet, the lieutenant made her way back towards Obsidian.

"Well, I didn't catch it, but we were on the same roof. It almost fell, that would've been interesting. Think we could've caught it halfway down?" Physics said no. But her mind was fairly sure it was possible, if there were fire escapes! Her grin was large and exhilarated. This was fun!

He could only imagine if she managed to catch the thing with her face--shamelessly, he knew he'd be amused as hell even as he was hauling her sorry, bleeding a** to the nurse to get her patched up. Her progress was noted with an impassive expression, but he was nodding slowly as though to imply it was satisfactory. "Not bad. Practice, is all. Soon you'll trust your feet more, you'll be able to judge what kind of corners you can cut without killing yourself, so on and so forth."

He took the ball from her slender fingers, idly twisting it about as though eying it. "Now there's a thought." The man would drawl, and she'd be looked for a moment before he'd nod again. "If you launch yourself down after it fast enough, I don't see why not. You feel up for it?" A slow smirk, and he strode to the edge of the roof before idly peering downward.

Hm. There was indeed a fire escape, which would make it way easier for her to keep pace. "You ready?" And he'd wait until she'd bent her knees some before he drew his arm back and threw the ball down as hard as he could. Would she catch it? Maybe, maybe not. He was at least interested to see her approach to the situation.
