I'm willing to help with make up.
I'm a make up artist and I have five years experience working with stage and theater designs.
Post your questions here and I will answer them. If needed, I can try to make tutorials.

Uchiha_Mara Thank you XCynicalX biggrin I have thought about dressing up as Elphaba from Wicked. But I have no idea what kind of makeup to use or even where to begin. 3nodding Do you have any tips? Alright! Glad to answer a question. smile OK if you're looking for green skin you will want to use stage make up, probably Ben Nye. I've used this brand before and it's seemed to work the best for me. The trick to applying this is to use a make up sponge and blend. Don't just smear some on. You need to get a lot on the sponge, apply it to your face and then carefully smooth everything out. But aside from that I'll give you the steps to applying the foundation. 1. Make sure you wash you face really well before applying. This goes with any make up you plan to do. 2. Since you're using stage make up, you'll want to put some moisturizer on after you wash your face. The trick to keeping the make up nice and smudge free is hydrated skin. Let the moisturizer dry. 3. To apply the foundation, you want to dab the color onto your skin and blend. Like I said, don't just rub it on or you'll leave streaks, which doesn't look very good. After this you want to brush a loose powder over your face. Usually you want to use one close to the foundations color but I don't think they make green...so just use a light pale peach maybe and apply it with a thin layer. 4. Once you're green, it's time to apply the basics(blush, liner etc...). Since you're going to have a dark color now, you'll want to use darker colors to accent your features. Depending on what shade of green you use, I can't really blindly give you colors to go by. Just keep in mind that you only need the stage make up for your green skin. The make up should be like a cream or paint. If you give me the color and brand of green you use I can recommend some blushes, eye liners, shadows and lipsticks to go with it. Or you can use whatever you feel is best. Just have fun with it!!

Basic Simple Eyes
So I figured I would make a video for you guys. This style is for people who don't normally wear make-up and may be a little uncomfortable putting a lot on. There's not much work to do for this yet you still will have a nice flattering look. If you're not used to wearing make-up then you may want to try this basic style before going into the serious stuff.
Also, I went out and bought some everyday make-up that you could find in Wal-Mart, CVS, Rite Aid (what have you...) so I wouldn't be making this tutorial with $50 supplies. That would be unfair to you all because I know how crazy expensive cosplaying can be and you want to put money into everything, not just make-up. So, I'm using some brands you can find almost anywhere for a good price.
I'm using make-up brushes, but you don't have to. Most of the eyeshadow packs you get come with the little sponge sticks which work just as well.
Things I'm using: *Maybelline eyeshadow: Mocha Motion *Concealer (BeautiControl Extra Help) *Brushes or Sponge Stick *Eyeliner (Revlon ColorStay: Blackest Black)

Hey there! I have...well, I dunno my eyes are kinda green? But they have a bit of brown in the center and sometimes they look more brown depending on what I wear and what not (I think).
What colors/techniques would be good to pull the brown out to make my eyes look more brown? Especially if I didn't want really dramatic make-up. If I could at least dim down the green in my eyes, it would save me some lenses xD

If I could at least dim down the green in my eyes, it would save me some lenses xD Alright! I know what to do with this. We actually have a similar eye color. whee Mine are hazel, but mostly green. Since you want to make your eyes look more brown, I've noticed that by applying brown liner and brown shadows you can bring out the brown/gold in your eyes. Personally when I want my eyes to look a little more brown I use a small amount of gold shadow that is very subtle. I would try using those little pre-made eyeshadow packs you can but at CVS or WalMart ect. they have various blends that are very simple if you don't want to put on too much make-up. I've also noticed that applying dark blue liner and shadow really makes your brown eyes pop. This is because blue and orange are complementary colors and brown usually has faint flakes of gold or orange, so the blue brings that out. But I'm assuming you don't want to use blue, so light browns are the most natural and easy. Of course there's more to it than my just telling you what to use, you have to know how to apply it. 3nodding So that's why I suggest the pre-made packs because they have a little set of directions on the back for different looks if you're not to familar with how to work the shadow. I recommend Maybelline. For me, that shadow works the best if you can't afford the MAC or Sephora stuff. I've tried using the Rimmel shadow....but that doesn't stay in place too well. confused Do you mind if I ask what character you're cosplaying? I might be able to help you better if I know the face. biggrin

Hello ^^ , I was wondering, how could you get a pale skin tone on the face (for Ex. Alice in Wonderland's white queen). Or like a vampire tone without the effects of bad Halloween makeup. XD Oh, and thank you for answering my last question, this has helped me a lot! 3nodding

I might be able to help you better if I know the face. biggrin I'm going to be cosplaying a bunch of different versions of Meiko from Vocaloid. If the wig was here already, I'd show you, but this is the one I ordered. It may not actually be that dark in person, haha.

XD Oh, and thank you for answering my last question, this has helped me a lot! 3nodding You're very welcome! whee Anyway, so you want a really pale face. this should be simple and not too demanding. Just get the exact same things you would use for a regular foundation only in a really pale almost white shade. I'm looking at the White Queen now and if you want that solid pale look you'll have to apply a super pale concealer over your entire face, including over your eye lids and then brush over it with a soft flesh toned foundation. Doing this should give you a natural make-up look without the caking paste. Make sure after you do this that you lay some loose powder over your face to get everything to stay. I'm noticing now that if you wanted to do the White Queen you'll want a light burgundy eye shadow to spread along the sides of your eyes. At least that's the color I think they use for the White Queen when I look at the picture. Or some kind of red wine color.

Alright, yeah you definitely want to use brown liner, pretty dark but not black. And a neat trick I learned to make your eyes pop is to apply white liner to the bottom lid just above your lashes. This makes the white in your eyes stand out more and in turn makes your eyes look a little larger. But yes, brown liner at the top and blend it with some matching shadow. Personally I like to go the extra mile and throw some gold shadow in there. Only a touch though, to give your eyes that sparkle. xd Maybe in the tear duct?? If you want me to try and make a video for you I can. But if you feel you can do it on your own, it's all good.
