Personality Name: Poseidon
Nicknames: Po, Popo when Orion's drunk
Breed: Silver Egyptian Mau and Norwegian Forest Cat Mix
Attached to: Sailor Orion and Team Pleiades
Alignment: Senshi
Age: Human form looks to be 31, he’s the old man of the guardian cats.
Birthday: November 13th, the end of fall, which is his favourite season, when all the leaves have turned colours and the air is getting crisp.
Sign: Scorpio.
Blood Type: A+
Fav. Food: In cat form he actually quite enjoys dry kibble, not that he’d ever admit it. When he’s human he loves sushi and makes a point of trying to have some whenever he is human, which usually doesn't happen.
Hated Food: Sweets, Poseidon much prefers the savory flavours.
Hobbies: Running – Did you know that Egyptian Maus can run up to 36 mph? Well, now you do. Po loves to run, in either human or cat form. He enjoys the way running gets his blood pumping and the way it pushes his body. He tries to run at least once every day usually in cat form, noticeably grumpier when he doesn’t get to go out and stretch his legs.
Reading – Poseidon thoroughly enjoys reading. His favourite genre is non-fiction and he absolutely loves reading about ancient civilizations. He’ll occasionally read fiction, though he tends to stay with the classics (Sherlock Holmes, Dracula, Pride and Prejudice) when he does. He finds the sci-fi and fantasy genres too fanciful for his taste. He likes more down to earth things, ironic for a talking cat.
Fishing – Poseidon will fish in his human form or his cat form, he’s actually gotten quite good at fishing with his paws. He enjoys doing the former with a good book in hand, and a free day ahead of him. Obviously this barely ever happens. He also prefers to fish alone, whether as a cat or human. He likes the solitude and the quiet, and he’s found that whenever he brings companions, especially other cats, they tend to complain about the weather, or the waiting, or ‘when are we going to leave, I’m booored.’ Since he doesn’t get to fish often because of his duties as a guardian cat, (and because who has time to fish when there’s a war with the Negaverse to fight?) he doesn’t want to spoil his fishing expeditions when he does get to go.

Virtues: Here, let me get that door for you – Poseidon is ridiculously polite, he always lets ladies go first, and will even let a girl have the last piece of his favourite sushi. The cat makes it a habit to be five minutes early to everything; a gentleman never keeps anyone waiting after all. He’s very well spoken, and tries to get his point across without yelling or arguing. If a situation does devolve into a shouting match he’ll do his best to mediate.
I’m not sure that’s such a good idea – Common sense is Poseidon’s middle name. He has no qualms being the party pooper who steps in and mentions all the dangerous parts of the awesome amazing plan. He’s good at talking sense into those who don’t have all the much of their own (see: Sailor Orion).
You’ll have to go through me first – Poseidon will die before he lets someone grievously injure any of his charges, especially Sailor Orion. He thinks of his senshi as his children (though he wouldn’t admit it openly) and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep them safe.
Now, let’s just stop and think for a moment – If the building’s on fire, Poseidon’s the one you’re going to want next to you. Crisis situations don’t seem to ruffle his feathers at all, he knows it’s better to stop and think clearly than to rush around in a mad panic. The latter is more likely to get you killed then to help you.
Flaws: What is this e-mail you speak of? – Poseidon is woefully technologically incompetent. He’s never used a computer, he doesn’t own a cell phone, and the only TV he’s ever watched was because he happened to be in the same room where a TV was on. He’s completely content living in the technological dark ages, though it does make it extremely difficult for him to keep in contact with anyone, other than by physically going to them.
I can handle it just fine on my own, thanks – Poseidon is confident in his abilities, maybe too confident. He thinks he can do anything and succeed without help from anyone. If he lets you help it’s because he thinks you need to be helped by him. This can get him into sticky situations where he grossly overestimated his abilities and is now in a lot of trouble. {Weakness}
Yes, those pants do make your butt look big – Poseidon will never lie to you. Ever. Not even to make you feel better, or to keep you calm. If you ask him a question prepare yourself for the brutally honest truth. The only time he’ll tone down his words is if he’s talking with a lady, but even then he’ll still be sure to tell the whole truth.
I’m right behind you, watching you sleep – Okay, so Poseidon won’t actually watch you sleep, unless he’s really worried about you. Then he has no qualms about pulling a creeper and watching over you from the foot of your bed. Have you ever woken up to a cat staring directly at you? It’s creepy. Poseidon tends to smother those he cares about. He’s everywhere all the time. Did you scrape your knee? He’ll suddenly show up carrying a box of band aids in his mouth. Forget your gym shorts? The cat will sneak onto campus to bring them to you. His constant presence can be extremely grating. Especially when you’re on a date and about to hit a home run and he shows up with a box of condoms, just in case you forgot them.

Physical Description Cat
Eyes: Almond shape and olive green, a bit brighter than his eyes as a human
Fur: Silver and spotted, like a silver Egyptian Mau, and fluffy like a Forest Cat. ( ♥ ♥)
Face: Dignified, or wise looking. Sober. ( This expression basically )
Body: Large, but not fat, with big ears and giant paws like a Forest Cat.
Fashion: Maybe a couple earrings or something I'm not totally sure about this part, maybe something that corresponds with his human look?
Human
Eyes: Almond shape and olive green, expressive.
Hair: Silver. Curly and thick, hangs to just below his earlobes almost to his shoulders
Face: He’s Egyptian, looking more like an Ancient Egyptian than a modern one. He has full lips, and a prominent, but slender nose. Maybe some beardage? (Like Poseidon beardage not Egyptian) I’M NOT SURE ABOUT THIS PART, dunno how sexy a beard would be. I leave it up to your discretion on that.
Body: He's 6'6 and while he isn't totally buff he has muscles in his arms and legs, he's strong but tends to use magic more than his fists. He has an olive complexion, maybe with the faint pattern of spots on his skin?
Fashion: I'd really like something kind've themed around the god Poseidon, maybe have him shirtless? But really fanciful and epic.

Cat Stuff Breed: Silver Egyptian Mau
Facts about the Egyptian Mau:
Egyptian Maus are a medium-sized short-haired cat breed.
Egyptian Maus are the fastest of the domestic cats, they can run up to 36 mph, to compare giraffes also run at 36 mph.
The spots on an Egyptian Mau are not only just on the coat; a shaved Mau does, in fact, have spots on its skin.
Maus often possess very musical voices. They are known to chirp, chortle and emit other distinctly unusual vocalizations when stimulated.
Guards: Sailor Orion and Team Pleiades
Challenge:
Why Orion? Poseidon is just the older role-model type of guardian cat Orion needs. On his own he's prone to getting very distracted (mostly by the females) and Poseidon wouldn't have any trouble getting him back on track.

 If you're stuck for a name that relates to the Orion of myth, how about Cedalion? In myth, Cedalion was the servant of Hephaestus. When Orion was struck blind, he carried Cedalion on his shoulders to guide him to the east, where the sun healed his eyes. Aside from him needing a name, he's a-okay! I'll go ahead and stamp+move the thread. <3
