What? There isn't a thread for it.
Anyway, who all in here plays? I'm starting a high level campaign soonish and rolled a character up today, I'm really enjoying it. Lvl 18 Fighter/Barbarian. Str of 27, Int of 9. Should be interesting.

Game has died recently to GM's inability to show up to sessions to do theatre rehearsals.

I've always wanted to get into it, I just could never get a rulebook or a good enough look at the game.

I've played one game. Get the jist of it.
Don't care for the story or plot. Just like killing things.
Have a level 1, 2 handed weapon using warrior.
He's based off Afro Samurai.

I'm in 2 campaigns at the moment, a 3.5 and a 4.0.
In the 3.5 I have a Half-Vampire, Fighter(6) Blackguard(2) (ecl 12). She wields a +3 Adamantine Maul with +1d6 Sonic damage. And has Imp Sunder. And Combat Brute. The rest of the group is pretty awesome as well. We have a Psion/Thrallherd Cat, a Halfgiant that forges kick-a** items that gets the attention of gods, a gnome warlock that wants to become a good Lich, a fighter (12) pally (1) that has the Holy Avenger, an Archivist / Malconvoker, and a bunch of other silly characters. And the DM has made a bunch of awesome exceptions so that the Pally and I can fight together on the same side. We make an awesome team.
FIGHTERS UNITE!

Played today. One of the guys in the group is the bad kind of neckbeard. I sat next to him, and he smelled atrocious. He was using a min-max flavored Druid. I'll post my character background in a bit, but my character is acutely afraid of the dark and of shadow creatures. That fear also turns into a rage, which I play through some levels of Barbarian. Anyway, he carries an everburning torch that he hasn't but out for something like five years. We went in and saw a bunch of shadow creatures. I willing took penalties by switching to use my warhammer one handed so that he could hold the torch instead of having it hang on his belt.
My group couldn't understand why.
I explained it to them why he, as a character, would do it. They still couldn't/wouldn't understand.

Ah yes, it would seem that your group is more of an experience hoarding bunch, not the ones who understand much of the roleplaying aspect.

We've played several sessions but never could really get into it. That was until another role playing game came along that was 40k oriented.. wink

Just saw a post on /tg/: "I always thought Pelor wore shades and dispensed justice via gigantic raisins."
In honor of this, My next character will be a monstrous cleric/paladin/avenger of Pelor with a fragmentary and non-canon view of his god.

Hope to hear form you smile I can't tell from your post, but are you playing in a 3.5 or a 4.0 campaign? In general, I've been underwhelmed by 4.0. There is alot of rapid book releases, but the content is very low compared with some of the larger releases from the 3.5 era, and characters are much more underpowered and bland. It was more difficult to make a character in 3.5, but it was more rewarding, and you had more ability to do things out of combat or use spells creatively.
