I had a fireside this past Friday. Elder Robbins of the Seventy was there, and it was really cool.

It was awesome. He used chocolate chip cookies to represent sins. He talked about how we shouldn't even go in the kitchen, and how it's better to completely avoid "cookies" instead of resisting them. Everyone loved it.

sounds like good stuff.
my fireside was about the law of chastity and controlling what we say and being nice to each other.
my speaker told us not to hand out dog food (unkind words, and just plain being mean to others).

Some of those GAs are just hilarious! But I think what they're doing is associating life lessons with things that are absolutely ridiculous or out there so we'll remember them. It's amazing how our minds work. When something comes along that's just so different, we remember it better.

Was it one of those full-length talks, or one of those miniature youth talks?

pretty good. I wrote a general of what I was going to talk about and then I expounded on it so I didn't read from my paper the whole time, and I looked up into the congregation alot and I wasn't nervous, so it was pretty good.

Woah, I couldn't do that. When I'm giving a talk, I need it all out on paper first so I don't totally get nervous and forget what I wanted to say. Of course, there are some exceptions to that... I suppose it just depends. The Spirit plays a big part in that for me.

like I had it all written out, but then when I was up there I decided that I didn't like how I had written it, so I just started saying it in my own words and going through what I liked.
