Hikaru lay sprawled out beneath his brother's comforting wing, eyes closed tightly as he fights off another nightmare. Waking with a start tears quickly fill his eyes and spill down his cheeks. How many times had he had these vivid nightmares? As he gave into the sobs he burried his nose against his brother's neck.
Kaoru had been wide awake, all senses alert for the noise of something approaching. When he felt his brother sob, he'd pulled him closer, draping more of his wing over him protectivly. Tears filled his own eyes as his twin burried his nose. There wasn't a single moment he did not blame himself for what had happened.

The night was young and the female that walked alone held her head high from the ground and sighed lightly. The ice blue eyes peered out and she moved, her gnat high and proud but like a dancers. The mask of white on her face and the lips that were painted were still as nothing and the black hair hung down in her face , the midnight black strands moving into the bright blue eyes that nearly gave no sight to her. As she moved, she watched the moon peer down at the ground with inquiring eyes. But she felt as if...there was something she needed to see. The eyes of Emmi looked down to spot two boys. She paused in her step and didn't think twice as she moved towards them.
"Are you alright....?" She called out gently, her voice smooth and quiet. She lowered her head to make herself seem less dangerous. She didn't want to make them afraid of her but she wanted to comfort the two. She heard one of them sobs and she frowned, concern on her features.

Hikaru let out a yelp when somebody new spoke. Without waiting to see who had spoken he backed up until his head was covered by his brother's wing. His body shook as his tail tucked up between his legs, a whimper leaving him. "K...Kaoru...d..don't let it get me..."
Kaoru had heard her first and was watching her carefully, his body tense and his ears perked up. Feeling his brother cower only made him more protective, his paw wrapping around Hikaru's back. "What do you want? Why have you come here?"

The tension rolled through the boys body and she stopped, lowering her body to the ground, her wings tight against her back. She heard the whimper and her head tilted looking at the lion under the others arm. She could feel the tension and fear rolling off the two but she had done nothing threatening. "Calm yourself child. I wish no harm nor intend no harm. I only inquire if you and your friend are okay." The ice blue eyes looked at the one who spoke and her face was sincere. She watched him quietly and spoke lightly.
"Are you by any means physically hurt? Or are you hungry?" The best she could do is feed the two even if they were terrified of her.

Kaoru stood when she asked if they were wounded, turning enough to show her his side, three long gashes going along his side and thigh. He then sat by his brother and lifted a paw under his chin to show the gashes along one side of his face. "They are healing slowly...but they get dirty..." Nuzzles his twin, watching him walk closer to the lioness.
Hikaru curled up, retreating further when his brother's wing pulled away. Tears well in his eyes as he watches his brother show the gashes on his side, then his own face. Something in the tone of the lionesses voice, and how Kaoru started talking to her normally put him at ease to an extent. Slowly, crawling on his belly he crawled toward her, whimpering like a scared infant as fresh tears spill down his cheeks. "Your nice..? Promise...?"

Concern filled the females face and it took all her power not to move closer to the small male to have a closer look at the wounds. The pale eyes looked up at the two then back at the wounds that littered their skin. As the one that coward in fear's face was lifted, Emmilia frowned, but her face softened. They were scared stiff. "Of course they get dirty..... You need someone to clean them...Where is your mother?" She questioned the one that spoke seemingly for both of them. She laid down as greener one moved towards her, so she could get at eye level with him. Her face softened greatly at the cubs struggle to move towards her and she nodded slowly. "I promise...." She mummered softly and reached out a gentle paw to wipe the tears from his face. Her eyes went back to the seemingly eldest and she frowned. A silent question on her lips. Who did this to them? Why did this happen to them?

Kaoru didn't have to hear the question. Too many others had asked the very same thing. For now he let his brother get closer, though he did move closer as well, sitting a few feet away. "As cubs a pair of evil twin lionesses with clubs for tails struck at us for no reason. They caught Hikaru's cheek but I stood over him. That is why I suffered more wounds but...for him I could take any damage..." Tears welled in his nearly emotionless eyes as he watched his brother. "We sought those same twins out so they could teach us the fighting power they had...the one forced us to climb up a mountain then back down. Finally back in the cave I was thrown to a wall...and...." He stopped, a paw over his face as he started to cry.
Hikaru felt the warmth of the paw and nuzzled it as more tears fell. While Kaoru explained how they'd gotten this way, he'd crawled closer just wanting to be held. When his brother stopped short, he pulled back just enough so she could hear his timid voice. "and...he was forced to watch while...I was...raped..." Once the word left his mouth he burried his face under the lionesses arm, starting to curl up against her. "Our mother hated us for being weak...not the warriors she wanted...she left us...."
