Nouăsprezece was busying himself with preparations for the coming winter, pleasantly surprised at the lack of snow on the ground despite the time of year. A late winter made it easier for him; with all of his terrible luck, he would have time to make up for the mistakes he'd made or anything he broke without freezing to death. Covered in bruises and bandages, Nouă flicked his stub of a tail nervously as he propped up another small log, taking a deep breath before letting the ax whistle through the air and cute of the piece of wood clean in half, his eyes closed to avoid getting hit with stray splinters, as had happened earlier.
A good explanation for the eyepatch.
Sighing in relief that nothing went terribly wrong, he quartered the wood in the same fashion before stacking it with the rest, finally deciding he was in need of a break.
It wasn't much of a break, however, not for his mind at the very least. Rather, that was turning like clockwork, each portion of it busily thinking on Ayela, Ayela, Ayela... He clearly remembered finding the female when he'd gotten lost in the woods, remembered every single exchange between the two. The only problem was that he'd more-or-less lost contact with the female since they'd parted, and she remained the one thing on his mind.
Shaking his head, he tried to will away the thoughts, but to no avail. So he simply sat in front of his small house and pulled bits of tree and string -no idea how that got there- out of his antlers, waiting for something to remind him to get back to work...

Wandering through the woods, Ayela found that she had lost track of how far she had walked. She could hear a sound, like a steady chop of wood. Her ears had locked upon the sound, and she followed it. Until it stopped. She stopped too, concerned. The sound was close. What had made it stop? Was something going to attack her? The tiny gray and tan cervitaur decided to risk it.
"I-is someone there?" Her soft, musical voice sounded scared. She continued to walk and almost stumble in the direction she had heard the sounds coming from, desperate to be somewhere safe and not scary. Closing her eyes, images of the cervitaur Noua fills her mind. Just the thought of him relaxes her.. and more than anything, she wants to find him again.

Nouă's ears flicked at that voice. That voice... surely, he knew that voice. He knew that voice from the nights, many nights, that it had ran through his head, haunted him deep into the night, awoken him before the dawn. He knew that voice from the many times that he'd run out into the darkness, sure that he'd heard it, only to find it but an illusion, only to lose his way back home once again. It was the voice that inspired his every movement, his every attempt to be better, to do better. It was the voice of the beautiful cervitaur that he loved so dearly.
Jumping up, he bound in the direction of the voice, not knowing that the female it belonged to had been so close. Squeaking in a girlish fashion, he dug his hooves into the ground, falling backward as a result but scrambling to his feet, his hands reaching out only to hover about the female's shoulders, blue eyes looking over her in astonishment, the widest of smiles taking up his bruised and broken face.
"Ayela..." he murmured, finally actually reaching out to her, gently pushing a few stray pieces of hair away from her dulled eyes, tears coming to his own eyes. "Oh my... Ayela, I've... is... are you really... is that really you?"

Ayela heard the sudden sounds crashing towards her, stiffening slightly. But she knew the scent. It was the only one who had ever held her so closely, so dearly... She knew he was close enough to touch when she felt his hands.
"Yes... It's me," She reached out to put one hand on his cheek, barely able to see any part of him and yet she knew exactly how he looked. Both of her hands reached up to his face, feeling of him. "Oh Nouă..." She stepped carefully closer to him, wrapping her arms tightly around his waist. "I finally found you... It's been so long..." She was finally home.
Tears began to slide slowly down her cheeks, feeling so relieved and happy. "Have you been taking care of yourself?" she knew she couldn't stop the tears.

Nouă sighed joyfully, laughing aloud in his own astonishment. As soon as her hands pressed against his skin, he stepped forward, wrapping his arms around the female's torso, pulling her lithe body tightly against himself. Sighing happily, he nuzzled his cheek against her beautifully smooth hair before turning and laying a gentle kiss on the crown of the female's heart, heart hammering in his chest. He chuckled softly at what she said, smiling sweetly. "I-I th-th-think i-it is I-I who f-f-found y-you, my d-d-dear...
"It h-has be t-too long..." he murmured sadly after she spoke, blue eyes filling with a sadness of their own as the slim cervitaur started crying. Holding her tighter against himself, he shushed her quietly and sweetly, one hand petting softly through her hair. Quivering, he bent himself down to gently kiss the tears away from her cheeks before wiping them away with his thumb, the very same hand immediately returning to its place around the small of her back, keeping her within his warm embrace.
He laughed again at the question, blushing faintly and giving the woman a crooked smile. "W-well, I-I've been doing th-th-the best that I c-can, c-c-cursed as I a-am, and all," he mumbled, the smile on his face turning sheepish, though there was a faint hint of resentment there as well. "Wh-what about y-you, A-Ayela...?" he questioned, tipping the grey-skinned angel's face up toward him, linking his eyes with her own cloudy ones, his smile fading just slightly. "T-t-tell me, please, th-that you-you've been d-doing the s-s-same?"
