Okay so like I said. I finally started using the Underground since I have defeated the Elite Four. I did most of the quests that Underground man gave me save for the stealing flag one since I have no friends (yet). I even found a Fossil. That I kind of forgot about until now. (I have to go pick it up from the museum)
What I don't get is the whole Shards and sphere thing. Like what are the shards good for? I been collecting them but those guys underground don't seem to want them and they aren't worth much at the shops. The Spheres I trade for items but those items don't seem to appear in my base's PC. (I gave it back to the guy)
Oh, how many traps are they and how can I stop them from happening to me so much? Also who's setting these traps and why can't I see them? Or can you only meet people who have your friend code? (as usual)

i can answe rall but number of traps:
first Underground is local-only
DS WIRELES COMMUNICATIONS means within 50-feet of you - this si the type of signal Undeground is
NINTENDO WFC means world-wide - type GTS is
second the underground goods you get for shperes DONT go straight to the PC you must take them and palce them into your secret base manually
thrid: Spheres, bury them in the ground, but to give you and idea f how: Red Spehere 1 + Red shpere 2, drop RS2 into the ground then drop RS1 on top of it, you'll get a bigger Shpere, but only if color matches, otherwise you cant stack them
shards:
in Diamond andpearl, not much use except sell, in Platinum, that are much more handy as they are used at three locations for rare moves
fossils: these you find and go to orebough to revive, they're simply a free rock-type, but are uncommon
treasures: mainly, sicne you have diamond look for heart scales and rare bones, but you can also find max revives and revives and thunder, fire, sun, water, moon and leaf stones, in addition to shards
to stop traps: pick them up, tap the botoom screen and like you would withthe wall tlak to the glimmer of the trap, you'll disarm it and acquire it for your useage
as for who's setting them: no one, they're generated by the game for you to scoop up

That's again. I'm a little bummed out since yeah I don't have any friends to play with. So I guess I won't be getting my flag stolen unless some of you happen to be 50 feet away from me. razz
Thanks, about what kinds of items I can find...now I don't have to worry about which of my Pichu I will raise so they can be a powerful Richu 3nodding (I have four of them)

About the shards: There are indeed three places to trade them for moves in Platinum, but there's also one place in Diamond and Pearl. I believe it's just east of Pastoria. There's a small house just before the bridges and just after the marsh. I can't remember what moves you can trade for, but I think they're all weather based, like Sunny Day or Hail. I'm also pretty sure that you have to have 10 of the particular color in order to learn the move.
And Heart Scales seem to be everywhere in my Diamond and Pearl games. I have a TON. xd I haven't spent much time in the Underground in Platinum yet, though.

Thank you! I found the house you were talking about and I got Sunny day! Don't know who I will teach it too though. I haven' used a lot of my TM's. I been thinking of rasing a least four strong teams using VS seeker and go through the various caves. As I been thinking about dueling the Elite four a few more times.
