Ianna seemed tired. Not only had she gone to find the Atlantis wand, Matilda had bothered her not three days later to find yet another wand. And she had had to go to JAPAN! At least it wasn't under the sea or to the moon this time. At least she actually had OXYGEN this time without half dying.

She was busily searching through the book of Life and Death, silver eyes glazed over as if she were just running through the motions. Which, mostly, she was. She could see no new wand sightings for a while, but then again, Matty rarely updated the damned book anyway.

Beside her lay two wands, or more so, a staff and a trident. Still wands, according to Matty...but Matty's definition of things was kind of skewed with her being in another realm and all. She wondered if any owner would come in today, and which wand they would take home.

She sighed a deep sigh and closed the book, which had a tendancy to slam shut and scatter papers and dust. "Stupid book." she muttered.

Patrick...patrick found himself being dragged into a shop. It shouldn't be anything new for the dark man, having two kids and a quasi-boyfriend (or so he liked to think) on his hands but still...it was his damn day off!

Damnit.

But here he was, letting himself be dragged around by his kiddlets, both of them giggling and smiling. It was a strange thing for them to do together and, god, did Patrick ever welcome the change.

"So where are we? And why are we here?" His voice was wary, glancing down at Iamel and Akuti.

Akuti just smiled that thousend watt smile and shrugged her cute little shoulders, "Because we can be, Daddy. That's the point!" She said this as if it was OBVIOUS to someone...well it wasn't! GEEZ.

She peered inside the store before hopping in, smiling again at Ianna. "Hi!" She chirruped, "Me an' my daddy an' Iamel are comin' inside! Hi!"

Sure, she was repeating herself...she was like five. It didn't bother her at all.

Ianna looked up, silvery eyes glittering. There were children...there...weren't supposed to be children! Not...Oh dear. The wands! HER wands! Her shinies...her precious little...Her mouth hardened.

Ianna loved children, she did, but when they sounded as hyper as the little girl did...Heh. "Hello, Welcome to Ghosts of the Past...Please step inside and to the desk...close the door behind you.

"THATS ANOTHER GUARDIAN! You're just on a roll today, Ianna." Matty almost shouted in Ianna's ear. Ianna winced and hissed.

"Damnit and Damn you, miss I can forget where I'm talking into, prat. That's my EAR!" Ianna growled, seeming to talk to herself as she always did, and looked over to the dark man who entered with the two children. "Well?"

Akuti....wilted. That's the only way to really describe it. Her little body just slumped and her eyes went from wide and happy to innocent to sad and...well, she looked like a kicked puppy.

Like a kicked puppy, she slunk back to her daddy and latched on to the pierced man. Ignoring Iamels self-satisfied little smirk.

"Ah--? Akuti, stop, Daddy's trying to--" he sighs, head shaking a little at the children grabbing and moving around him. With a growl, the thin man just hauled them up, both at once, one child under each arm.

Akuti looked deligted.
Iamel? Pissed.

"...well what?" he blinked up at her curiously, eyebrows arched and him looking puzzled. "I'm no miss and I wasn't yelling into your ear, sweetheart. I was trying to get the kids to shut up."

"I wasn't--" Iamel interrupted, to be cut off by a quick glare.

"Hush." Glancing up to Ianna once more. "Sorry. What was that?"

Ianna laughed. "I wasn't talking to you. I was talking to Matilda." Ianna said it as if it were the most normal thing in the world. Talking to a person who by all ordinary means, did not seem to be there.

"Come in, step to the book, touch it..." she fidgeted. She wondered exactly how this man, and the children, would react to the bright and glowy light that would emit from the very very old and dusty book. And the dust that would fly everywhere.

It would seem as if there was an invisible wind taking up all the pages and flipping them at once. Of course, the moment it stopped it landed on a beautiful looking sketch of a pole, a fox tail and feathers hanging off it with straps of leather, as well as some japanese writing down it.

Under the picture rested the words:

"Japan. Wand ID 00002. A Soul has been trapped within the confines of the wand. Congratulations, you have become the next guardian to take on the task of raising it from infancy to greatness. We, Ianna and I, have the upmost faith in you to complete your task dutifully. Best of luck,

Matilda."

"...touch it?" His voice was wary but he put Akuti (the GOOD kid - unlike Iamel) down and moved slowly over to the leather bound book. A squirming Bird was still wriggling under his arm, whining and pushing, but Patrick ignored him.

If you let him whine a little bit, Iamel would eventually give up and wilt a little bit.

One bejewled finger reached out, hesitantly touching the leather. DUST! LIGHT! He yelped and hopped back (giving Iamel a light case of shakin'kiddie'syndrom) and stared - or gawked - at the pages.

"...A...A soul? Through infancy?" His voice was squeaky, dark eyes under the glasses jerking up to Ianna in shock and something like horror. "A-Another kid?"

"YAY! A sister!"

Patrick ignored her.

Ianna cackled. THIS was so much better than the Elven woman's reaction. "Yes. Through infancy to ancient....if they so choose. I believe the particular wand you see there holds a god's messenger...a kitsune..I think." she blinked. Matilda hadn't told her all the details yet, she had just brought it back a day or two ago.

"Congratulations, Mister...urm..." she paused for a name, "You're a daddy. Again."

Reaching to her side she picked up a long beautifully carved ivory wand, dark lettered japanese letters spelling out a word she didn't know along the side of it. Bound at the top by strands of leather was a large fox tail, black and blue, and towards the bottom two black and blue feathers.

It was a beautiful wand, she had to admit. In fact, she was almost sad to see it go.

The moment he would touch it, however, it would glow...and grow slightly warm.

"But...but...I -can't- have another kid!" He wailed, staring at the woman like she was sprouting another head, wilting a little bit himself. "I mean..I have THESE two monkies!"

But she wasn't going to help. And he was chosen, wasn't he? Yes... Yes he was. GodDAMNIT. "...Patrick." His voice is soft, staring at the woman even harder, eyes desperate and dark from under his glasses, "Patrick White.."

"Take it Daddy!" He could hear Akuti call from behind him. So...he did. Those wide eyes went even wider and under the pigment of his skin, you could see gray.

"...I..." Glancing up at her, looking helpless still. "A kitsune?" THAT brightened him up, even a little bit. "Like...a fox spirit? Inari?"

"Yeah, like you'd get a GOD. You already have me, you--" Akuti kicked him in the butt and he jumped, squeaking. And fell silent.

Ianna found the three quite amusing and it showed on her face. Fingers reached up to brush her hair away from her features and yawned. "Yep. Fox spirit. I believe he was a messenger for Inari...but I could be wrong. Matilda hasn't told me everything yet."

"And I probably won't if you don't stop annoying me."

Ianna scowled. "Shut up, you. Let me handle this how I want to handle it." she was talking to herself again, so it seemed.

"And sorry, nothing I can do. I mean, you could let the poor thing die AGAIN...but..." he shrugged. "Seeing as you already have two kids, I doubt that you'd kill one...One who's already died such a horrible death..."

She almost got a glare for that one and Patrick set Iamel down so he could carefully hold the wand in each hand. His eyes were wide, blinking and touhing the wand...then clearing his throat.

Face still ashen under the dark, he finally spoke once more, voice soft. "...what do I have to do then? What..I mean..is it going to go from wand to baby? Or a kid? How old? What's it going to look like?"

Now free, Iamel skirted back from the creepy lady and out the door. he didn't like the shop anymore, damnit. Patrick GRABBED him..grumble sulk.

Ianna thought how to put it. "It's going to go from that wand, to a wisp of smoke, to a baby made of smoke, to a human...or in this case, kitsune-ish, infant...and then its' going to grow like a normal kid.

Your job is to make sure the ghost doesn't get sucked up by a vacuum...or a fan...or let out the window..or something." Ianna smiled insanely and giggled. "Oh it'll be so much fun. Unless it's like Matilda...then I'll feel sorry for you."

"b***h, you know you love me."

"Yes, I love you." Ianna said, once more, it seemed to be to herself.
PostPosted: Wed Dec 07, 2005 11:46 pm

"Uh-oh...Daddy, don't tell Iamel about teh vaccum. Or the fan." Akutis voice was quiet, moving to cling to Patrick pants, peeking up at Ianna. "He'll try to vaccum it up! Or he'll make the mean bald boy do it."

She nodded fiercely, wise beyond her years, and thus pressed her cheek against her faces thigh. "So just keep it in your room or somethin'... Don't let Iamel vacuum it up!"

Patrick winced at that and nodded, glancing down at his daughter. "Good point, Akuti.." His voice was quiet, moving to ruffle her hair gently, glancing back at ianna. "...alright. Uhm." A pause, and a frown. "...thank you, I guess? Do I owe you anything or do I just take the wand and..flee for my life before I pick up another kid?"

Ianna gave a nod of her head. "You don't owe me anything except that child's life. It chose you, after all." She smiled a little and gave a little yawn. "But before you go...press this"

She slid a sheet of paper over to her, written upon it was gold letters saying "Press Me". As soon as Patrick would, he, Akuti, and even Iamel, were transported into a large room. As they entered the main lobby Via the portal connecting the shoppe and the headquarters, the first thing they would notice is the vast...largeness...of it. The high ceilings, edged with gold, the large chandeliers dripping with crystals, the smooth white tile-floors, colorful rugs, and beautiful paintings.

To the left was a large recreational area complete with a large flat-screen television, several rows of various games, movies, video game systems and books. There was a basket of toys in the corner, full of plushies, dolls, cards and various other objects which would appeal to most ages. Included in the area were several comfy looking couches and plush chairs just made for sitting, lounging or bouncing in. It seemed to be heaven on a fluffy carpet. It even had a foos-ball table and an air-hockey table....and for the slightly more food-minded GoTP, a mini fridge always full.

To the right was a large elaborate counter, which seemed to have a force-field of some sort around it, keeping anyone who was not Ianna or Matilda from going behind it. On the counter lay a roster with the names of all the Ghostly children and their guardians, and an appointment book.

From there, it branched off into halls with rows and rows of rooms. Some were storage, some were guest rooms, some were bathrooms, and one very large and ornate door to the end of the hall led to the gardens. "Welcome to Headquarters, Patrick White. You're welcome here at any time."

"GAAAAAH!" Sure, Patrick screamed even though no one was getting hurt and nothing bad was happening to them. The poor boy was freaking. the. ********. out. This is NOT something you spring on a guy like him - he screamed like a girl when he first saw Iamel!

And he loves Iamel!!

"What the ********?!" He shrieked out, clutching the wand to his chest, eyes showing the whites around them, frame trembling. "Where the ******** - what the hell is going on?!"

Sure...he's welcome but.... "H-how do I get here without th-that button thing?"

"Foos-ball!" Iamel cried triumphantly, having seen the game on a popular sitcom. The winged boy raced over, small hands wrapping around the toy and grinning from ear to ear, twisting teh little toys. "Whoo!"

Ianna watched the bird boy and laughed, then looked at Patrick with an amused glance. "There's a portal in the back of the shoppe that acts the same way as this little sheet of paper. The little sheet of paper is to freak you out the first time."

Ianna giggled. "I need my amusement -somehow-......I mean, I can't spend all my time reading or chasing wands."
