Since the idea is to get the guild back into action, how about a promotional banner contest? Maybe not exactly attractive to everyone... but we should ahve something that would get more artist, active ones, and people for the guld right?
So here's the second idea: "Art auction." It would give people an idea as to what sort of artists are there in the guild, what it offers, and the artits and the mods can split the percentage of earnings. It'll help save up for future contests and such.

I do not know how to make sigs or banners. I do know how to draw (lol). I would be willing to make a drawing for some one to change into a banner. Let me know. I am willing to participate in the art auction as well.

As for you sigs, you can scan in you photos and use them as sigs. You can use either of those programs to add your name or text to them too. It's easy and fun! wink

Ideas are apreciated. I'm a new guild mod. I think I'll be looking in on this thread. I've got a few other ideas I'm working on.

Well, we'd really like to hear everyone's ideas. ^^ And we should discuss them...
I think it'd be a good idea to have a tutorial section ( as Mentioned by IMwanderling in the thread 'We Live') up for different art forms, styles/media s and such for people who are interested... i for would really like one for working with pastels. heart wink And if we are to have a banner competition it might be a good idea to have a few banner making and/or animated gif making tutorials... just so more people can participate, and learn what they don't know.

I agree that a tutorial section would be a good idea. I for one would like to learn more about techniques on coloring.
I like the idea of an art aution as well.
Hrmm.. As for other ideas..
Maybe... I'm just wondering, since I'm new, if this guild could offer monthly themes.
For example, a theme for one month could be: Traditional Media Month, where each artist who wants to participate turns in a traditinal media peice. Or, Pastels and Oils Month... and etc. smile
What do ya think?

Themes sound like a distinctive idea. heart We can have seasonal themes... or give out a few words, and have 'art assosciation' ...

I do not have photoshop as of yet. ^^ Well You could always use paint..a bit crude but does the job, orr you you make the entire thing on paper and scan it...its juts about a spiffy laout and catchy text and imagery, me thinks.
